CARLY… i got mine, yall can pound sand FIORINA, horse face makes me puke
I’m thinking pelosi is going to be the person to watch, she just started showing some balls to the republicans and I want to see if she keeps it up
if she continues with that “we won, they lost” theme that’s been popular lately I am going to be a very happy person
I hope Larry Summers rips up John Boner. I really hate that fucker.
Good Morning! the sun’s just peeking out here. sadly, I’m not sure there’s enough room in the ABC studio for all those wankers. Somebody else suggested they invited Carly just to make Krugman roll his eyes.
morning to you too elliot!
off for a ride all, see you later
EPU’d from LLN (with edit)
Looks like the (fascist) economic warfare against democratically elected Hamas continues:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/worl…..gaza-hamas
Of course a lot depends on which one of them gets the last word. It’s a big advantage for the one who comes on second.
Alas, I don’t think they are on together, would be nice to see someone make Boehner cry tho…
T-Bear, I doubt the economic war against the Gazans will end any time soon. I have heard calls lately for a one state solution, do you think that’s possible?
see ya when you get back perris
before I head out for the day I want to make a point;
obama is recieving some of the highest performance approval of all presidents for his first 100 hours
and what has he done?
he’s renounced torture, he’s closed secret prisons, he’s restored rights taken away
he gives sunshine to some of the secrets of the previous adminsitration
these are the things people want to see, let no republican tell obama the public does not want to look back at what has been done to this country
OF COURSE we want to look back, we do NOT want to repeat it and the ONLY innoculation for repeating past mistakes in our history is knowledge of those mistakes
we have made this unitary executive mistake before, we have made this robber baron economic strategy before, we have made this trickle down, supply side bullcrap mistake before and we have made “the government is bad” mistake before
it is time we revisited those mistakes to never repeat them again, this country almost did not survive the boyking and it’s not likely it will survive another episode
we MUST revisit, we MUST look back, WE MUST bring these criminals to the bar of justice, they committed these crimes of treason before and they will again, if they are not around to do it again then their minions will do it again, they have a template for unacountable crimes that leaves them with the treasure of nations
they WILL seek that treasure again UNLESS they see the price paid is higher then the assets extracted
Morning All, Been lurking for a while. 17 deg F here still no sun but don’t know we will see much today. Up to 2 feet of snow thru tomorrow up in the high country.
This jerk on WJ bashing Obama on the oath redo, These whiny ass a$$holes Think that it is all about them. If they had their way Obama wouldn’t have time to do anything but kiss their narcisstic butts. jerks!
they still believe in fairytales. Obama will be found not eligible to be President and Voila! there’s President McCain and VP Palin.
as if and aHAHAHAHA!
There are too many liberals, also known as “libs” on the tee vee. Steve Forbes has warned us about the 25 most lib libs.
It is possible that their collectivist ideas will influence the naive young people. Of course Krugman is the #1 most lib, Yglesias is the #16 most lib, Zakaria #11, Friedman Unit #4, and Chris Matthews is #12. How come these bolsheviks get to dominate the dialogue?
There are a few moderates, at least, Bork, Boner, Hayes and Chavez. But there are other socialists Forbes should include such as Pelosi, Fineman and Cokie Roberts. I wonder what Cokie’s hair style will resemble today? Animal, vegetable or mineral?
If you haven’t read or heard it you might want to take a look at the speech Sheldon Whitehouse gave on the Senate floor last Thursday.
http://emptywheel.firedoglake……look-back/
RRRRAAAAWWWWW!!!!!
morn’n pups.
its a great morning Elliot,we have a thoughtful person in the whitehouse, assessing the damages, and working hard to change things
lol, mineral, definitely mineral.
Here’s what’s on CNN’s State of the Union:
YALL SAW THIS ,scroll down for the fab John Stewart
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/….._0123.html
i’m having trouble reconciling the whitehouse who says we must look back and the whitehouse who worked to prevent us from looking back to find out how we were spied on in violation of the law.
poor sad dinosaur Steve Forbes
Hopefully with a new administration the networks will realize its time for new “FACES”and conversation coming from those faces.I am tyred of the Buchannas,Hannitys,Limbaugh etc.I know that you know what I mean. Their time has come and gone.”We Won Get Over It.

Yglesias is on WJ now
In my paper this morning is an editorial cartoon by Mike Peters shoing Obama kneeling on the floor surrounded by little pieces of ripped up paper, a roll of Scotch Tape(tm) and a large scroll that he is taping together. At the top, it reads, “We The People”.
No s**t, Barack.
Good morning everyone!
Perris, did you hear Rush Limbaugh stating on his show that a Banana Republic is when a President, such as Obama, allows transparency and the citizens of the country to have access to their documents? Bah hahahahahaha! Ass Limbo is feeling the weight of the Obama Administration that he’s rewriting the definition of a Banana Republic to make himself and his listeners feel better! I love it.
We won and continue to win. ;-)
looked weird, is weird… hope Elmore didn’t have nightmares after seein’ that.
thanks Prairie
selise1111!!! :D
left ya a comment
lol
My best guess is that Boehner uses an accelerator in the tanning booth and comes out orange.
Yep. Obama is slowly piecing the Constitution back together! Feels good.
I wonder what George Bush is doing this morning? I bet he wakes up everyday thinking he was the most loved president of all time.
perpetual hangover methinks
Ah Boner is siting a CBO report that DOES NOT exist…….. on WJ….. someone’s pants are going to burst in flames……..
40,000,000.00$ PER YEAR for that bag of steaming turds
I hope he had it all invested with Madoff
Keep a count on how many times this phony CBO report is brought up…and how many times the “journalist” challenges its authenticity. I’m bettin’ mucho on the first, nada on the challenge. But it would be interesting to keep a list.
Here’s a format:
WJ Boner’s phony CBO report, host: [fill in name] challenge…nada.
Let’s pull together a compiled list and Oxdown it.
Controversial CBO Report On Stimulus Turns Out Not To Exist
And are we surprised: GOP Congressman Cantor’s Wife’s Bank Did Well in the Bailout
thanks!
thanks, off to brew….
yes piecing it back together.
As for GWB, he heard the boos, and as time goes on he’ll realize just how lousy he was, it will eat him alive.
oh that would be just fabulous
oo thanks for the link
flush it out……
Boner flys commercial……who knew? Too bad Elmore didn’t get a chance to do something a little more drastic than “sighting” him. *g*
i hate that weasel cantor
too bad he couldnt do a cat whistle, like when guys see a hot chick 707
Good morning all.
Well I got ACLU survey and I will fill that once I take my middle finger salute down to Verizon for screwing up my wireless signal AGAIN. It’s always so much fun to call customer service and have them tell you it your fault that you can connect to the modem with a ethernet cable, can log into the 4 random signals in the area, and yet when you try to log into the signal that you pay for, your password that they provided doesn’t work.
Good times indeed. It’s funny, part of the first question the ACLU survey has closing Gitmo as part of the question. It’s good to see something hhas already started to do that.
Woohoo caller kind of sounds like an elderly woman has some backbone….. CBO report does not exist…… you go girl ….
he has already been disabused from this notion, he has been told;
“don’t worry about opinion polls now, after you are long dead your legasy will be redeemed”
there, no lose thought process for the boyking
i was watching a documentary on the Romanoffs, and just couldnt help compare the repuklicans to them,Thain and co etc…i will now call them THE ROMANOFF REPUBLICANS,nobody better steal it neither…”g”
yikes! no coffee in the house. i’m going to have to go get some or maybe mooch from a neighbor ‘cuz summers is on in 15min
Holly Sh*t that lady sounds like one of my screeds……. screaming at that Franc person….. Lies Lies Lies……
he is struggling for relevance, he no longer has influence
somebody moved his cheese and he doesn’t know that he has to go to where the cheese
the investors who pay his salary are already regretting their investment
the new meme from democrats should be;
“if rush says it you will lose your shirt betting on his information”
or something equally castrating
if the entire paper’s editorial staff is with that sentiment I like that paper, give it all the support you can while it still exists
G’morning everyone. Went down to 15 degrees below the zero last night. Wind chill about 30 below. MN winter. Booyah! Watched teevee for a week whilst staying with friends on Padre Island. Dunno where mine is, so back to classical music. Nice!
This is interesting. THC induces apoptosis in leukemia cells.
Minneapolis Star Tribune filed bankruptcy last week. Print news is in deep doodoo, eh? Although across the river, the St. Paul Pioneer Press seems to be getting along. Daily papers weigh about an ounce now. In-depth is so yesterday.
Link
I’m laughing to myself because I thought maybe you had an inside scoop that someone had ‘moved his cheese’ and he couldn’t find it in the refrigerator, meaning, he can’t come to grips being a regular citizen at the moment!
morning barbara, that is tooooo cold
{{{{Bar}}}} sending you warm greetings from the hearth,
http://wwwdelivery.superstock……933066.jpg
throw another log on!
is that good?
I wonder if he heard 1.8 million people singing, “Na na na hey hey hey goodbye”? LOL What a poignant moment it was!
Well, the Press and Sun is kind of a weird paper – we proudly feature a guy named Dave Rossi who has won the H. L. Mencken ‘Curmudgeon’ award multiple times – he’s been happy to let everyone know his hatred for and disgust with the Bush family since Bush 41. And, if nothing else, he was a friend of Molly Ivins.
been using my fireplace alot last 2 weeks
What no banana republic lets its people know how much money the dictators are stealing. Rush is reaching so far up his ass for ideas he has collapsed space.
So that’s what logging on means! *g* Thanks.
‘Tis. No wonder Norm Coleman doesn’t want to come back to St. Paul. Be that as it may . . . .
link?
for real!
hows every little thing going? okay i hope
The corporate media is there for 3 reasons. Provide a platform for conservative memes, provide an avenue to wealth and priviledge for the public faces of the corporate media and defend the status quo against forces of progressive change.
ooops, see your link here.
Is that like Schrodinger’s Cat..or is that a Klein Bottle?
A good tanning salon would know better than to turn a person orange my guess is that he lost so much money in the market he is chemically tanning himself now hence the orange.
Of course the MSM will never ask him that question.
A black hole that could swallow the earth.
Long lonely winter. But…gotta tell you having BushCo get the boot has been a major mood elevator!
yup,”let them eat cake media”
he heard
With the “Wall” bantustanning the West Bank and the theft of East Jerusalem and surrounding Palestinian areas, the jailing of Gaza, the two state idea has become insane, there are none who would agree to it (without either a gun to their heads, or piles of cash in their pockets).
The one state solution is unworkable without removing and the “nazification” of the Zionist movement and the current Israeli governing, political and military elite. The recent attempt to ban political parties in Israel clearly shows the deep-seated hatred and prejudice that must also be made “fascist”, both terms are used to indicate the development of deeply held and effective counter forces to those ideas. In short, Zionism and “Official” Israel must be ended as a concept.
The big problem, as long as the Israeli government is accepted as “Democratic” and acts in most cases as “Fascist”, no progress will be made. What must be constructed in its place is a scheme where all minorities are protected entities, and there is trust in that protection. Without that, there is no solution, ever.
regret the delay in answering
Potentially, it means a new biochemical mechanism to fight cancer. On the downside all the teenagers will be getting stoned.
yup,and stay here and chat with your pals….also a great mood elevator, and HOT CHOCOLATE with marshmallows is teh better than prozac imo
PRICELESS!………… little pissant
and that is a downside? hee he he
I am guessing that’s good, probably some kind of inhibitor against tb
The Physics of Rush’s ass are to horrible to contemplate even if the Mods were not here.
H.P Lovecraft does say somethings about Non-Euclidean Geometry and things to horrible to mention… in a Horror story.
LOL I heard Rush’s head was spinning so bad the other day, it flew off his neck and knocked down a series of buildings. Bah hahahahahaha!
Sounds quite wonderful and thanks. Just one problem. Pups, saddest news you’ve ever heard. barbara is allergic to chocolate. I know, I know. Looks of horror. How the heck do you make it in this world without chocolate in your mouth???
Oh goody. I’ve been signing it for days now and I wonder if he catches himself humming it? ;-)
fluff is good too
http://blogs.sun.com/ThinGuy/r…..%20005.jpg
Don’t forget that open sore that kept him out of the Army Al Franken Mentions in his book.
I wonder if Rush ever got it fixed or at least sewn up now that he is rich.
Its curious the Army didn’t offer to fix it but maybe they can’t I’m not a Doctor.
What I want to know about Rush is where he’s hiding the towel? He foams at the mouth so much that he must have something to mop all that stuff up with.
The Alaskan wingers are blaming Barack Obama for the following:
http://www.ktuu.com/Global/story.asp?S=9725891
http://libertarianrepublican.b…..ights.html
The Army states that the Alaskan Territorial Guard never should have received the retirement benefits in the first place, but this is Barack’s fault?
The wingers are reaching again!
Barbara, Welcome back and bundle up….I do not know how you folks do it up there. Keep us in on the Franken updates; looks like Coleman keeps striking out. Nice!!
He wears it like Elvis while thinking he is Elvis. Or maybe he just shoves cotton balls in his mouth? Hey could be.
http://acapella.harmony-centra…..06974.html
Pot could have saved Bush’s sister?
I think it was this: http://www.pilonidal.org/whatitis.htm
I hope everyone will take a moment this morning to send a message to Chris Matthews to keep pushing the idea of prosecutions for the Bush criminals. No matter how you may feel about Matthews, at least he has been advocating prosecutions. Because he has been known to do flip flops in the past we have to make sure that he keeps it up and that means complimenting him when he does the right thing.
this is very good too
http://www.recipezaar.com/Hot-Vanilla-197195
and sometimes i add MAPLE SYRUP
Thanks.
Word is that Coleman has taken a job. Official word is that he needs the money to pay bills (wah wah wah). I’m thinking he sees the handwriting on the ballot. BTW, this is the man who, upon winning the recently deceased Wellstone’s Senate seat, declared that he was a 99% improvement over Wellstone. {{{spit!}}}
http://www.pilonidal.org/whatitis.htm
Would the army have operated on him to fix it back then?
Yep. And we need to push for Special Prosecutors so the House & Senate can continue to do the business of the American people!
the filthy oilfield toxins gave it to her,it is speculated
(((barbara)))
Hey youski!
Hot milk with either honey or a coupla drops of vanilla can be just as nummy.
oo I love THAT picture…
Oh, yum! Printed and ready to roll with it.
mini mopsters under the desk.
Barbara – Coleman renegotiated his mortgage for $775,000 in the fall – he’s been using his house as an ATM for a long time. I did not realize real estate had increased that much in value in Minnesnow-ta. But he also has a second mortgage from about 20 years ago; how he’s paying these bills is beyond me. I did a quick and dirty payment figure and that $775,000 mortgage (if he’s paying regular current rates in MN) is costing him $68,000 after tax dollars. He NEEDS a job.
mapple syrup…hehehehehe and Kaluha at nite
Lindsay Graham declines John King’s softball to bash Obama for his defense ethics waiver hire. Graham declines to call it hypocrisy, says it’s reality.
Okay, John, that’s one from the Republican checklist
Here are more details about the push that Tweety has been making on the matter of prosecution of “the big guys.” http://www.dailykos.com/story/…..285/688242
But, but, but that sounds HEALTHY!
You know sign language? Ha
My son is still singing it around the house too. It is catchy, ain’t it?
So on MTP they have three repugs to do their round table analysis? WHAT are there no Democrats on Sunday morning…..
David Gregory sure has sucked the Kool-aid cup today with all the Repug talking points….. Now I know why I usually never watch bobble head shows….
I heard the same thing about petrochemicals and Leukemia
http://aje.oxfordjournals.org/…../164/3/200
Was it you who went to go see Revolutionary Road? Wondered how it is. I’m reading the book right now. If it wasn’t you, please disregard this message.
Coleman’s being investigated for some big bucks being funneled to him for his personal use via his wife’s employer. And you probably know the story about his wee apartment in D.C., which is believed to be donated but undeclared living quarters. The man lives large, apparently. How ironic if Norm’s house were to be foreclosed.
Darn it. “singing”! LOL
It’s kind of a catch tune, no? ;-)
Oh, you remember, huh? I tried it with Baileys, but wasn’t as good as the Kaluah.
How’s tricks? How’s animals?
Coleman’s living space in part of the apartment owned by a guy named Jeff Larson:
Larson is a powerhouse political consultant, specializing in highly sophisticated and doggedly thorough campaign techniques: telemarketing, email blasts, strategic maps and manuals for campaign foot soldiers, and a host of other obscure and powerful services.
His company, Feather, Larson & Synhorst (FLS), which he founded with two other campaign heavyweights, was paid $18 million for its work on George W. Bush’s national re-election campaign. The company’s website boasts that Larson has “worked on behalf of 35 state parties, dozens of gubernatorial, U.S. Senate, and U.S. congressional candidates, along with national organizations including the Republican National Committee.”
http://www.mngossip.com/2008/1…..bough.html
Larson is also the guy who did a lot of Sarah Palin’s ’shopping’.
Why is there Repugs on all the channels? I thought we won?
John King interviewing Lindsay Graham…overall I give this high marks. Substantive discussion.
Yes.
We also have to watch to make sure that Matthews and others don’t adopt the view that if we don’t have prosecutions for the people who developed these policies that we should have amnesty for the little guys. Evidently Matthews is really bugged that the little guys are paying a price and the high officials aren’t (so am I) and while he has made more comments calling for prosecutions of the higher ups (the right decision) he did make one comment on Thursday where he suggested that IF the high officials weren’t prosecuted that we should have an amnesty for the little guys. I think this idea, if it gains traction, will be far more appealing to our beltway media because it still makes sure everything is covered up. So while I agree that the little guys shouldn’t be punished while the higher ups are free to go on their merry way we can’t fall into this trap where the everyone should be absolved of their crimes meme is allowed traction. The correct response is that everyone should be held accountable.
I’m not much of a drinker, but gotta tell you I loves me some kahlua.
You are a fab quick researcher, TW. I’m relying on memory, and you’re doing facts. What’s up with that? *g*
You thought that Oompa-Loompa look was a tan?
Fastest fingers on the planet, Barbara – I used to make my living as a typist – I’m even faster now that I don’t have to throw a carriage.
I studied sign language two years ago at the local college
the sign for “na na naaanaaa” is finger to nose with fingers extended
[/snark]
I’m a fast typist, too. But you’re multi-tasking. Typing AND thinking. Booyah!
I think my hands are frozen this morning (we’re at minus 3 degrees without the wind chill factor): “catchy”! Darn it.
Pmorlan @ #134: Right on!
Decreasing numbers of incidence of breast and Lung cancer in women BUT incidence of Kidney cancer has rose significantly in the last 5 years especially in white women. So what are women being exposed to that has caused this increase, think Kidney a filtration organ………
I loves that Amaretto de Sarrono Not that big on grape juice but after it has fermented mmmmmmmm *g*
I’ve got a time share on Obama’s brain – my only problem is that I got the part that has the Indonesian in it and I can’t make use of that this morning. Should have negotiated a better deal. :)
i despise larry summers, but boehner coming on right after him is doing a very good job of making summers look reasonable and smart.
John Boner says he’s very clear in working with the new president. Bah hahahahahahaha! Oh Boner. You don’t mean that, because you’re a republican, and to be a republican means you block the legislation that hurts the hard working Americans while protecting the CEO’s paycheck in the millions.
Big YES to amaretto. Clearly I have been lax on one of the major food groups lately. Wonder how it would taste on butter pecan ice cream. *g*
Mercury as China burns more coal? Petrochemicals use has increased too but unless a threshold point is reached I to be honest am not sure what could be causing Kidney Cancer rates to go up and hit the White Women population hardest.
I assume you have a theory?
Boner still thinks Obama is a chickenshit like he said a few months ago
all good for now, thanks for asking, vet bills extroidinary last month, must get my website going again
You be funny!
oops, I meant ther “sign” for “nananaanaaa” is thumb to nose with fingers extended
I’m late. I’m late! I slept in just because, because I know Obama’s got my back and the major-league bozos have left the city. I know. Humor me please.
A Gracious Good Morning to You Elliot and to ALL you Puppies.
It’s frigid but beautiful outside today. Sun’s gonna shine for the 4th day in a row! I think I’ll just go out and stand in the sunlight for awhile, after I plow the driveway yet again, sigh. My back is beginning to tire of that game, and reminding me that, while healthy, it FEELS like a golden-ager’s back, so I be’s careful.
Already said above, but seconded here: that picture, and the video of the 1st dance – beeeooootifullll!
And the thought of Boehner not knowing how or daring to remove his own makeup? Priceless. Prolly hoping a stray reporter might notice how frugal he is, usin’ commercial air ‘n all, and give him some
brownie-um- boy scout points in the local rag. Boehner’s a blight. Ohio CAN do better. Give us a couple years to get our act together and knock down the cobwebs.Had to turn Boner off…… just could not dirty my pretty mind with his horse sh*t…
any over the counter meds…i think tylenol etc
This is what the Mayo clinic has to say:
“Chemicals in your workplace. Workers who are exposed to certain chemicals on the job may have a higher risk of renal cell carcinoma. People who work with chemicals such as asbestos, cadmium and trichloroethylene may have an increased risk of kidney cancer.”
http://www.mayoclinic.com/heal…..sk-factors
Even the feds say “trich” is dangerous.
http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/tfacts19.html
Still using that phantom CBO (on Fox)
I’ve now given David Gregory the last minutes of time I will ever give. Listening to him “question” Boehner is a joke. Boehner’s canned answers relied on such debunked crapola as 61 Gitmo prisoners back on the battlefield against us.
There is no substance, there is no nuance, there is no sincere questioning of spin.
Meet the Press is dead to me now.
It is our obligation under the UN Convention Against Torture (UNCAT) to prosecute or extradite all alleged torturers found in our jurisdiction. And what we have are prideful self-confessed tortures bragging about how their excellent work is all that has kept the nation safe for the past however many years. That shit has to stop and the smirk has to be wiped off their faces.
By Article VI UNCAT is supreme and binding law, and per UNCAT:
He is definitely *not* up to date on his rabies shots.
But why white women? That really is a poser. Unless we have different kidneys from the rest of the population. Smaller? Less efficient re certain materials?
ooo, twolf is upstairs with a great post on a new poster!
twolf’s up
389 Years Ago, nifty poster.
I think women may absorb chemicals differently than men do. but yes, our kidneys are smaller…
No theory….. since science is very divided on source of kidney cancer, one group say it is an enzyme that does not work which causes a genetic defect to start growing cancer cells and then there is the group that spontaneous growth of cancer cells.
Kidney cancer is not one of the high name cancers, no walks or runs with ribbons for us but we do get compassionate approval for social security disability…..
That alone should be a Diary. Bob Woodward was on Tweety last night saying we can’t prosecute of course he used the strawman of CIA agents and never mentioned Bush.
Well, it’s my hope *sucking on lollipop* that if President Obama decides to keep illegal wiretapping in place that he decides to listen to Boner’s conversations first. Oh how I will love to hear Boner screaming, “But that’s not fair! He can’t listen to me without my approval! I’m an American citizen dammit!”.
Oh, how I will love watching that asshole become unhinged.
Make no mistake. The Republicans and the corporate media want nothing more than to see Obama fail. His failure is a victory for Republicans and the corporate media. It will be a disaster for the country but they could care less about the nation.
Uggh…I was tempted to say something like, “Has he no class?”, but O, well. That is truly awful. Thanks
Something is causing the increase something new something that either affects white women or that they are exposed to more than other groups.
so very PATHETICALLY sad what EX-CIA agent once hero WOODWARD has become
ah but let them eat cake
and make no mistake, they will try in every way to HELP him and us fail
David Gregory on MTP just said that the current economic collapse is the fault of “consumers!” Stunning!!! and this tripe of the village idiots is what is considered the conventional wisdom.
Nails it.
artificial sweetners?
Thanks. I may do that.
For the CIA agents they think that the good-faith variant of the Nuremberg defense suffices: “I was just following orders that I was told were legal.”
And for the bosses they think that the converse of the Nuremberg defense suffices: “I was just giving orders.”
Well, I really, really tried (good memory, there.) Once the paper had listed the wrong time, then it was completely sold out. Will have to wait. I saw The Reader, instead, and liked it very much. Earlier, I had not been so interested, but it is very complex and well-done. How do you like the book?
sheesh!
Brainwashing? Coolaid?
Did you catch True Talk Friday morning?
The interesting thing is that I do not fit the profile…… way under 60, a woman, do not smoke and not obese. I cannot think how I could of been exposed to that chemical because I work from home.
Hi Katymine. I hope you are doing well today.
Please see my #153, 1st and last paragraphs for whatever reassurance value they may hold. just random thots, but mebbe not far off the mark…
Also, there’s a delightful pic out there somewhere, prolly copy-protectAP or some dang thing, but worth a look. Shows the long array of powerful pols either side of Barack sitting at the adults’ table for a meetup and photo-op. Pelosi grinning like the proverbial cat who swallowed the canary, and Boehner right next to her looking like a woebegone middle school schlep who couldn’t get a date to the dance &’s gonna start crying yet again. I do wish someone would shove a box of tissues in the boy’s hands and show him the door. He’s an embarrassment, not that he wasn’t even moreso when he was happy.
Al Franken is flawed, but he’s a solid Dem. Wellstone would be pleased, I think.
Plastic bottles – there is no telling what the cause is without a lot of research.
Never mind. My eyes aren’t working yet. *g*
David Gregory refuses to say it was George Bush who said to Americans time and again, “Go shopping! We are an ownership society, so go get your house any way you can! Spend, spend, spend! We’ll take care of it from here, okay?”.
On Friday, I was watching Phil Gramm (Mr. Credit Default Swaps) at a live meeting talking about how it was Credit Default Swaps that saved the economy. Well, as usual, a Smart American, saw through his bullshit and said (paraphrasing), “How the hell can you say that when it was you who put in the CDS and it’s why this kind of Shadow Economy that has busted our economy????”.
It was beautiful. Gramm’s smirk was wiped off his face.
WTF??? Forgive me, David, for I have brought down the global economy. NOT. And yes, I am taking this personally. Fah!!
Maybe a new sweetner the cancer rate went up 5 years ago so something new before 5 years ago it often takes years of exposure to cause cancer.
What do the White Women have in common with the non white women getting this cancer?
There is a lot of mixed opinion about wine…
He is very, very smart and well informed. I’ve read two of his books and they were great, i.e., really opened my eyes to what has been going on.
Ass Limbo of right wing radio fame is still losing his cannonball mind:
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/…..-stimulus/
I’m really enjoying watching the wingers come unhinged.
Prozac.
you might be on to something there
mo mo mo monaie$?
no,tell me about it
Good angle Bob Woodward used a variation on this on Tweety something about having recieved authority I think?
However Bob should know that the just following orders defense did not work at Nuremberg.
Of course none of the asshats on Tweety pointed that out.
If you can watch Tweety from last night and use your comment to take Bob Woodward and the ill informed experts on Tweety!
Yes, before I could hear the boos on TV, I knew what was happening by the expressions of both Bush and Boehner. Bush hardened expression, withdrew into shell. Boehner tried to resist lower lip quivering.
carpets?
We did win but the corporate media doesn’t recognize the victory. Until the corporate media is neutered the chance for progressive change is tenuous.
What’s goin’ on with yer critters?>
House-cleaning chemicals?
A link would be great if you have one. Phil Gramm needs to be taken down in the mass media in front of a big audience.
The public has to know just how responsible the GOP is for the economy.
chemicals, chemicals, chemicals….
the fog clouds of mosquito spray
household chemicals
smoking, secondhand, even thirdhand?
chemicals spewed in smokestacks
the list is long….
and sometimes it strikes early…in little children
and sometimes it strikes years later….
True Talk is a show on my community radio station. Hosted by two local Muslims it is a discussion of issues wrt ME and Islam in general. Selise put it on her podcast and that’s what I was thinking of. Slept in, fed the tigers and dragged my sleepy butt to the machine. Not enough caffeine yet.
monaie$?
?
excellent! i just want to see larry summers et al called on it too.
In the last 6 months I have been really trying to keep jobs and grow the health care sector…… lets see…… keeping CT techs and radiologist busy, two hospital stays with staff to the tune of $400,000 each, multiple doctors, home infusion nurses, pharmacists, insurance claim processors and customer service reps……. pretty much blew through over $800,000 to help the economy…….
Baz had some weird shit going on ,seems to be ok now,Percy definately has seizures, but now i dont freak, give him a benedril 1/2 and put him in a quiet carry on bag,a few hours later he emerges right as rain…im learnin vet bills genormous, must get site up and going again
thank you for the reminder – i haven’t listened to it yet!
my dad was a pathologist/toxocologist…felt the liver and kidneys suffer greatly around chemicals, never let me refinish cabinets etc,NOTHING WITH FUMES,didnt want me to dye my hair either, just sayin
Well, they’re serious(!) I’ve heard it before and it’s just a magnificent pile of hooey they’ve tossed together in their crazy marinated salad of blame.
According to them, consumers are so stupid, they’re actually using any extra pennies they find to pay off debt, buy groceries, schedule a long-overdue visit to the doctor. You know, total idiocy like desperate immediate needs. And they’re totally ignoring the wizard’s command to shop-till-they-drop like sarah.
Ma and Pa Consumer are the canaries in the republickin’s mine, and the filthyrich, uber-insulated dolts just don’t get it even now. Astounding! Disgusting! Some kind soul should snap Rush, Will, Brooks and all their kin with a cold, wet towel and wake ‘em up. Either they are delusional, or they think we are. Either way, they couldn’t be more wrong if…. oh well….
Barack is here and duly sworn in, and living in the people’s White House. We will show up for duty and help him however we can. He gets it.
The particles given off by Laser Printers and earlier generation copiers? Even later style typrewriter ribbons and carbon paper were emitters of hazardous particles. Correction fluid was another office hazard.
I couldn’t agree more which is why I posted my comments about Matthews. On one of his shows he argued for prosecution of the policy makers but on another show, where he was getting push back from other journalists, he floated the idea that if the higher ups were not prosecuted then the little guys should receive some type of amnesty. He is right that there shouldn’t be a two tiered system of justice but the proper response to that is that BOTH groups should be prosecuted, not that both groups should be allowed to go on their merry way.
I guess what I’m saying is that we have to be careful that we don’t just use the argument that this is a two tiered system of justice. We must make sure that people understand that the little guys were appropriately punished but we have failed to appropriately punish the leaders.
Did you catch True Talk Friday morning? Ol’ sleepy head here asked sadlyyes that but of course she had no idea what I was talking about.
MONEY the great intoxicater
Was hilarious caller on WJ earlier complaigning about Rush bashing – said his wife divorced him because he wouldn’t stop listening to Limpballs.
It’s mind-boggling, isn’t it? Every chemo session ran about $6,000. Radiation. MRIs, CT scans, blood work, blood work, blood work. Ambulance runs. ER time logged. Intensive care. Home health. Fluid infusion to mitigate against dehydration. Girl, I have at least a vague notion of what you’re going through. I want you well and ceasing your contribution to the economy in this way! And of course, it’s all about me and what I want, right? *g*
katymine – i love your sense of humor. sending thoughts of hugs and kisses your way….

my new name for them is THE ROMANOFF REPUBLICANS
The petrochemical and plastics industry have long been associated with cancer clusters. We can also add Nuclear Power plants and Nuclear weapons facilities to the list.
Man, I’m goin’ back to bed, get up and start over. If the rest of the day goes like this I’m in a world of hurt.
He obviously didn’t learn anything from the experience.
This scares the billy hell out of me for all of us. And in particular, for my adult daughter who, early in her adult life, cleaned houses. I worried then, but couldn’t really articulate what my fears were. Urgh!
no, but i have it in my itunes – thanks to the power of podcasting. is that the one i should give that one a listen too first?
Our house is just a couple of miles from a petro refinery. At night, when it’s all lighted up, it looks like Oz. David lived here for 40 years. Worked countless hours outside. Gardens. Lawn. And I sometimes wonder whether that propinquity contributed to his esophageal cancer. Moot now. But wonder all the same.
I missed it and haven’t listened to the archive yet. Had to make a trip to Office Depot.
hey if you can’t laugh at the situation……. crying really doesn’t help….. my joke about the $800,000 for two 8 day hospital stays where the interlukin did not work but I lost 20lbs, got rid of the fungus infection on my toe nails and finally my dry brittle finger nails grew like weeds……… not everyone has a $800,000 weight loss program paid for by their medical insurance company…..
sorry had a house guest for 2 weeks,im out da loop
(((katymine))) I can only imagine what you, and others, have gone through.
I like it very much. Only about 1/3 of the way through. Good writer.
You mean you’ve missed the troll fests we’ve had? *g*
rock steady baby
My only symptom prior to the kidney starting to bleed was a nagging back ache….. Had it for a couple of years but then my tumor was big 7×5cm…… after being a nurse working the floors for 21 years and now a life sitting at a desk all day….. just took some advil, go for a walk and ignored it. DONT…….
Ha. I found a link. Didn’t think I’d be able to:
http://www.time.com/time/busin…..html?imw=Y
According to Phil Gramm, it’s everyone elses fault and CDS were a blessing!
An $800,000 manicure/pedicure. Wow. Just wow.
yea, lurked a little saw some, had no enegy to engage, priorities, howz your furry shildren doin?
Thanks Bookmarked it:)
Check this link out Ben Stein says a year ago that financial stocks are great buys.
I wonder just how much money Ben Stein still has if he were fool enough to listen to his own advice:)

It’s official, the Chris Matthews roundtable agree unanimously that Obama does not want any investigations. Fineman, O’Donnel and of course Woodward suggest it’s merely a distraction.
Summers on here now. Showing that he still doesn’t get what is going on in the economy and doesn’t know how to deal with it. Doesn’t want to nationalize the banks and it’s OK if they don’t lend because they’re broke. WTF? Very bad news for us. After that, I think I will pass on “Tax cuts can cure anything, including hemorrhoids” Boehner.
But Boner makes Summers sound really reasonable and sane ……
The networks turned down the volume so those watching on television heard nothing.
And would we expect 3 Villagers to think any differently? For one thing investigations would show what a piss poor job they all did these last 8 years.
Try Windex.
We had a local folk singer here named Bobby Hicks. Was a regular on the Florida Folk Show on the radio. Rode a bike and began to miss events and the show because of back pain. Never went to a doc. Finally went in for xrays, etc. Huge tumor on his spine which had spread to his other organs. We lost him about 2 months later.
Dandy! Works for me. I’m waiting for their big pile of badly stacked compost to tip over and bury them. I can’t believe functional minds keep making decisions to invite those lying and/or totallyloopy idgits to offer their wrong-headed versions of life-as-we-know-it as if it’s the way the world works, the one and only true way. That is insanity. Only a tiny fraction of the world’s population lives in these little cloistered gated communities, cushions and bon-bons on their silver serving trays after every gourmet fest.
Bah! Humbug! Time for the scrooges to take a nap and meet the REAL ghosts of a humane society. We should not let them hide under their silken pillows for one more nanosecond.
laughter, humor is powerful medicine indeed, isn’t it?
sustains the survivor and the caregiver too.
{{{katymine}}}
filthy rich asshat gasbags
I wonder if that is a media strategy? Have the dimwit followed by the nutcase all to sell the dimwit’s case.
I know. Ben Stein and others have lived in this little bubble where they think their views are etched in stone and are accurate. Well, we hate to burst their bubble, but!
Glenn Beck told his listeners a month or so before election night to SELL OFF STOCKS IF BARACK OBAMA WINS. Interesting…..these assholes were touting to NOT SELL to keep the market strong, but if a Democrat becomes president, then by all means….SELL!
Assholes. Their actions today are proving to Americans once and for all that the right wingers of America hate America!
hahahahaha. $800,000 trip to the spa. i love it. (((((katymine)))))
gallows humor has brought me some light to dark days, i’m glad it does for you too. actually learned to appreciate it in a cancer support group i once belonged to. it was years ago, and many of the members are no longer with us, but their laughter and wisdom lives on.
I’m not surprised. I watched the whole Inauguration on C-SPAN knowing full well C-SPAN would reflect reality. ;-)
you SAID IT BABY
Amen to that, sister!
that was my reaction also (see comment @145)
like they turned away the cameras eggin’ his limo when he started….
life’s full circle and he never changed…nor did our loathing.
DUMB AND DUMBER was a boxoffice success,no?
and after summers and boehner there’s thomas friedman to explain what it all means.
all in just 60 minutes of television. i feel better now (not).
or should it be dumber and dumbest?
707
wow just wow,ill repeat what Elliot said, hope they were all Madoff clients!
thank you for the link.
Time to go for a Cheerios floating in a sea of kahlua break. Stay warm, northern pups! Be cool, southern pups.
Well, I suppose we never should have expected anything different from the media. Summers and Boehner is just a reprise of the same he said/she said jouralism they always do dollowed by pseudo analysis by one of their usual goof pundits.
You’re welcome. I couldn’t believe it when I was watching Gramm live on C-SPAN at a financial meeting and he was blaming everyone and saying credit default swaps & deregulation basically are the strength of our current economic situation. It was unbelievable what he was saying! He still blames Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac too.
*bursting Gramm’s bubble*
It was so hideous what’s inside that bubble! Wow. *shaking head*
From the LA Times:
masaccio up
Sunlight is to Lobbyists as Garlic is to Vampires
*waving to Barbara* Have a great day!
awww, don’t go tellin’ stories outta school now…
confession time: i simply cannot resist tickling trolls’ noses with my kitty-tease toy. works like a charm. start with the tickle, add a dash of nonsense & dash off on an unrelated tangent, and trolls just automatically curdle – thinking I’M the loony one, not that there’s anything wrong with that. watching them stumble around in confusion, bumping into walls trying to decipher my random points of reference, groping for the door. it’s addictive.
but i’ll be good today. at least i’ll try, sorta.
You’re a good fella, Dragon. I hope the tigers are all treating you and eachother well. (ours could use some of your FL weather; they’re stir-crazy in the frigid weather, wanting their outside porch somethin’ fierce, so we play lots of chase & pounce, and kitty-tennis – i kid you not. you oughtta see the 6-yr-old little-girl kitty’s overhead smash – it’s worthy of Chris Evert)
P. E. A. C. E.
yeah. i didn’t expect anything like amy goodman or bill moyers – but still, i’m continually surprised by how bad it is and today gregory, summers, boehner and freidman were just amazing. off the scale idiots.
whyn’t ya just say what ya mean? Don’t hold back on our account!
707!
what bothers me most is not phil gramm (even though he is probably the worst of the worst), because at least now he is not a position to do much damage (as he would have been if obama had lost in november). it’s summers especially who worries me because, for example, he was on gramm’s side in pushing through legislation that made it impossible for cds to be regulated – this while he was sec of the treasury in the clinton administration. and unlike gramm, summers is who is directing our current economic policy. scary as hell, only made somewhat better when i consider it could be gramm.
BTW twolf’s video (uptop) got over 380,ooo hits. .)
Me either but they’ve trapped themselves in this reichwing spin box and there’s no way out without showing the world what fools they were for the past 8+ years. There’s no changing Fox but watching their demographic over the next 4 years is gonna be interesting. The more things Congress and the administration get right the more the corporate pundits are discredited.
I think Molly Ivins used to call ole Phil the “meanest man in the Senate.”
can’t they just throw all that down the memory hole and pretend?
they do it all the time for other stuff.
yep. mean and wrong. great combo.
Terrific! I’m about to watch it again. Saw the original Inauguration Day and instantly melted, cried a little. What a sweet couple! And I hear they’re pretty smart, too. *G*
And the guy she called Mr Big Hair, our Gov, was meeting a group of “pro-lifers” yesterday with a rant of support. He cannot see how inconsistent this pro-life noise is when TX always gets the accolades for the highest number of executions and of those waiting on DEATH row…Pro-life, you say? Wish Molly were with us to keep pumping out comment on the absurdities and lies….
She’s right here over my shoulder. Oh, I see she’s with you too. Good on ya! I miss her, but she’s never left me. Does that sound crazy or what?!
*g* sniffle*
Gee, not at all. And aren’t we grateful for her indomitable spirit?
SD, I got an e-mail that has 20 of the most awesome, funny cat pics I’ve ever seen. You and all the critter lovers here should see them. Below is my spelled-out e/m address. If you request in body, “send cat pics; fdl” I’ll forward them to you.
