Late to the party again, and here’s the funny thing. I was one of your supporters, Sam. I think you guys need to do a better job of outreach.

Case in point - I’ve written several articles on my blog about your campaign, the first of which I e-mailed your office about. Didn’t get one hit from your people. Every article I wrote about you garnered a visit from the House of Representatives. Guess how that was. Your opponent did a better job of seeing what was written about you than you did.

For your next campaign, you should hire someone who can do Internet outreach.

JJ — thanks for your clear positions on this issue. I agree that we need to be unwavering in ensuring right outcomes — regardless of the siren call of those that would stand to lose $ — our citizen’s health and well being must be the last word. Period.

President Obama stated in Las Vegas!!!

“Health care reform is not about penalizing people for failing to purchase costly health insurance they already cannot afford. Its about making health insurance efficient and affordable.”

I submit until tax exempt status is revoked in the health services, cost will never be controlled! The use of tax credits and incentives is well established as a mechanism to effect change desired by policy makers in many industries. But if you have no tax liability as in the health services you are in effect subsidized by the taxpayer already, and incentive and credits are useless as applied to insulated tax exempt corporations in the health service industry!

To bad i cannot deduct my premium to a tax exempt HMO w/not for profit status, when I do not need the service for 24 consecutive months. Quite a contribution I’ve made in premium payments with no need for service Aye!!!

James, sorry about that, lost the thread — a recurring subject of local discussion is our local non-profit hospital (we have three in the district) that has reported hundreds of millions of dollars in black ink.

Clearly, huge work to be done to preserve our status as having the finest hospitals and specialists in the world but gain HUGE lost ground in preventative care for ALL.

JJ — you familiar with France and Netherlands systems? Interesting. My understanding is that France has a parallel public and private system (and consistently ranks #1 by WHO) and Netherlands is a highly regulated 100% private delivery system.

You are right, government has an important role to play to ensure right outcomes from health care insurance industry and hospitals. Deregulation has been debunked.
