And these media airheads wonder why newspapers are failing. My guess is Howie Kurtz, Deborah Howell and the rest of the clueless suits at the Washington Post (and other news outlets) think the average American citizen is as vapid and devoid of consistent thought patterns and principles as they are.

I for one hope the WaPo succeeds at discrediting themselves into oblivion.

Now I have to listen to former Gov of VA (R) talk about class warfare. Talking points: the top 2% of the US population pay 40% of the income tax;

and they get 60 percent of the income. Go figure.

Howie Schmowie wouldn’t have dreamt of holding a Republican president to account. Certainly not in the manner and with the consistency DFH’s demanded for eight long years. He and his fellow Villagers set the bar so low for Poor George that he skated underneath it with a top hat and wearing pink cowboy clogs.

They will write as if they were holding President Obama to account, while simultaneously demanding that Bush and Cheney keep their free passes. But they will temper their demands, claiming that doing so is required by manners and good taste. It will really be because if they succeed in holding a president to account, someone might try doing the same to them.

Not acting in this rodent-on-a-wheel sort of way would get them in trouble with their fellow Villagers and the neocon press barons who pay them. No. 6 would have understood this intuitively. Be seeing ya.

Howie epitomizes a word he knows well: schmuck, which is the opposite of another word he knows well, and which describes Mr. Obama as well as schmuck describes George Bush, and that’s mensch.

Among the athletes and fraternity members I knew, we had a word for jerks. A few of them were OK because they had a sense of humor or could do some things well. We had another, more pejorative, word for those who were jerks but lacked the self-awareness to know it; they never had a sense of humor. Howie’s the latter. Except that he and gasbags like David Brooks know they are peddling a grossly hypocritical double standard. They keep on thinking of novel ways to do it, because it ups their paychecks. As for prizing knowledge, consistency and accuracy, they gave that up when they concluded that the honor code only applied to the other schmucks too dumb to report their own failings.

Eli:

Howard Kurtz poorly representing my story. Mike Stark went on CNN to discuss my story about having my blog shut down by ABC Radio/Disney.

He opened the show with some of the audio clips and then asked Mike “Don’t you like free speech?” He didn’t understand the story, didn’t bother to even understand the issue of fair use and didn’t even understand the First Amendment!
http://movies.crooksandliars.c.....mv?mid=139

I think Mike did a great job. I tried to prepare him for the appearance, and for Dan Reihl, but what I didn’t realize that the biggest obstacle to the successful telling of the story itself was Kurtz. Now if I ever have a chance to talk to Mr. Krutz I can totally give him grief because it was my story that he messed up.

(Oh and by the way, neither he nor his producer bothered to write me, call me or talk to me. Of course they probably had some rule that the don’t protect the privacy of anyone by “a high-ranking Republican White House source” who they will need to talk to again next week. I was an anonymous blogger and I could be ANYONE! Someone with an AGENDA! (As if all the right wing think tankers and Bush White House officials didn’t have agendas.)

We all knew that the “Clinton Rules” will be applying now that a Democrat is in office. It’s always okay to “bust on the blogger” when they are liberals. Just like it is always okay to “punch the hippie” in the democratic hierarchy.

Andrea Mitchell? You mean Mrs. Alan Greenspan? Why doesn’t that old bat just go away? And take Tweety her. Please?

I would say that Tweety (etal) is jealous of bloggers because many of them are actually doing good journalism. Yes, I would say that, but to do so would be giving Tweety credit for actually having a thought in his tiny little pea brain, a dubious notion at best…

WTF does right-left-center, etc. have to do with doing good journalism? Howie Kurtz is such a fucking douchebag. Why doesn’t he just go away? And take the rest of his douchebag cronies with him? He can start with Wolf “I’m So Fucking Important” Blitzer, and just work his way down the list…and across the cable outlets.

My seven year old daughter, after listening to me shouting at CNN anchors for the last several years, asks me whenever the news is on, “Are they lying now?”

In the summer she said, “George Bush is a bad man!”

It’s not that I am raising a liberal, I am raising a woman that doesn’t blindly accept everything she’s exposed to from the media.

Adding insult to injury, the Snooze Media apparently believe the most important story right now is why Caroline Kennedy withdrew from consideration for a Senate appointment. If she’s not going to be a Senator, why should anybody care?
