Caroline is out.
“You can’t fire me – I quit!” (??)
everyone is being watched… EVERYONE !(but still can’t find bushes e-mails)
fyi – the day’s list of hearings is at oxdown. includes dennis blair nomination hearing for dni.
Gay Rice for the Straight Vice ?
Hard freeze here last night. Gonna hafta move further south. End up livin’ in a tree with jaguars and cougars next to a river full of pirahna. Figures.
Well, if we don’t get Dean we at least have this:
If Kaine had started dismantling the 50-state strategy, we would have been right to start dismantling him…
i heard yesterday from my friend in central FL that agricultural areas were threatened by the freeze. can you report if any damage was done to the veggie growing areas, or will we have to wait for that info?
Morning all, Kendrick Meek, on WJ now. I believe he has entered the race for FL senate seat being vacated
(does baby have a name yet?)
I hear that Vidalia Onions are unaffected by the crappy weather and should be ready by April as usual.
We will call her Bella and her registered name almost certainly will be Zips Chocolate Hunter. She and mommy should be able to come home tomorrow. We can’t wait.
The White House Executive Order page has been updated finally:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/brie…..ve_orders/
Apparently the computers crashed at the White House. I read somewhere the computers crashed because there was so many Americans checking out the new site. Wouldn’t surprise me! Oh, but according to the wingers, Barack’s Inaugural didn’t surpass Reagan’s in viewership and I’m sure if they had added in the world’s viewership, Barack’s would have been near that of Princess Diana’s funeral. ;-)
Gonna hafta wait. Supposed to freeze again tonight and the night after. Many of the homeless in St Pete were stuck out in it cuz there’s not enough shelter space for them all. It also put a hurt on food supplies at the few shelters we have. The local Rethugs just want them to go away. Out of sight, out of mind.
Speaking of out of sight, out of mind a columnist for the SP Times who retired a few years ago has put his 2 cents worth out about the hard times at BayWalk. Wants the protesters to find another place to protest, Williams Park to be specific. You could put 300-400 folks there and nobody would notice. The commenters to his article pretty much didn’t agree. Rev Bruce is Bruce Wright, founder and director of The Refuge, a homeless program in St Pete. Of course yours truly had to say something as well.
I have to say….it’s 13 degrees here this morning and it feels like spring. LOL I’m serious!
oo lovely, Bella.
thanks. neither of us knew the extent of the agricultural produce that was threatened, and i was thinking not only of the growers but also food prices.
Sounds like one of the Palin clan g*
Here, strawberries are the big worry. Couple of real nasty freezes and they lose the whole crop.
St Pete is where we have been looking for a winter residence. We love visiting there and have decided that, if we stay in the US (depending on health care) we want to retire there. Didn’t realize it got so damn cold there!!!
We are up to 20 degrees already!! It is coming your way.
yikes. as you remind me, the most important concern is the homeless. i forget that even what would be considered not so bad a cold spell elsewhere could be deadly when one does have the clothing and shelter, even if out-of-doors at hand to help cope. are there warm shelters for unusually cold weather such as this?
back later for the blair hearing…..
It doesn’t last long but is really noticeable after 10 months of shorts and t-shirts.
Not enough. PTB don’t want to spend the money.
Awesome! (((((HUGGING NOMOLOS)))))
Okay, going to work with the rest of the schmucks of America. Have a great day everyone!
Yep, Bella is a great name. Can’t wait to see pix. If I come visit can I hang out with the horses? Don’t want to ride, just spoil ‘em. *g*
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
Welcome any time. They love mints, carrots and apples.
SD…Have a great day…Im way behind you today. I think I am already sleeping better with our smart new man in the White House. Take care.

I can’t tell you how far reaching the Obama Presidency is … even people in friendly Toronto are friendlier now …
Congrats Jim to you and yours, on the arrival of Bella !
I just watched Madame Secretary :) Clinton get greeted at the State Dept. Things really are changing. Many, many things still need to be addressed, but it is going to be great. :)
I could get used to this…
DIGG is open.
I concur … the Clinton Brand at the forefront of Foreign Policy gives America a great deal of credibility around the World, esp. with the emerging Superpowers – China & India.
