And speaking of ripe targets, even as Bush was booed and people pointed and laughed at Dick "Mr. Potter Blofeld Strangelove Judge Doom Big Lebowski Ironside" Cheney, there was one man particularly beloved by the millions on the National Mall via National Review blogger Yuval Levin:
This was, understandably, a very partisan crowd in which I was badly out of place. The loudest boos, to my surprise, were not for Bush and Cheney, who got plenty, but for Joe Lieberman when he was shown on the huge television screens — more than one voice could be heard shouting “traitor” around where I was standing…
Welcome to the rest of your life Joe, and you didn’t even get a dinner out of it.

Ahhh, poor joe, he has no
spinefriendsintegrity.Good morning Attaturk. What a joy it was to hear our President speak TO us. In complete grammatically correct sentences no less. What a joy indeed.
Had no idea that octogenarian, flyover dwelling, non-websurfing mom knew who Lieberman was —though she’s certainly up on things in general— until she erupted recently when his name came up on a news broadcast. Nothing in particular, just the fact that he always seems to be loudly out of place at the moment when things, like Presidential elections, go wrong.
Oh yeah, and that thing about endorsing every Republican in sight this fall while trying to plunk down in the middle of the Democratic caucus. He and his might think that only crazed bloggers notice things like that, but I know a veteran lace-tatter who’ll get him another think coming.
But we’ve got better days in prospect now, if more boring ones in the invective category, eh?
Wow, i am a huge fan of veteran lace-tatters who are not big fans of the Republican right.
what sophie said.
Ah, the LieberDouche. A man among men, a credit to his race, a legend in his own mind.
Bastard.
I am confused about your remark…
Hadn’t heard about the reaction to liarman; lotsa high information voters in that crowd! *G*
We put the skeer on ‘em, and now we keep up the skeer.
I now get your remark and agree with wholeheartedly, lieberman is a douche. I never really understood why anyone would consider him as a democrat or a republican, he is an Israeli. Good for you Joe, not necessarily good for American’s?
Suck-up liarman from the connpost:

Good morning, pups! It’s MoDo and Friedman today. MoDo gives us “Exit the Boy King,” and says not since Klaatu landed in a flying saucer on the Ellipse has Washington been so mesmerized by an object whirring through the sky. Mr. Friedman hopes for a “Radical in the White House.” He says his most fervent hope about President Obama is that he will be as radical as this moment — that he will put everything on the table.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got a selection of bagels and cream cheese. It’s arctic (well, by our standards) here today, at 27° so you poor pups up north must really be suffering. The news I read this morning that President Obama moved to halt the military tribunals at Gitmo warmed my heart, if not my toes. Have a great day.
Did Hillary call Obama at 3: AM?
Good morning Dawgs!
What a wonderful morning.
President Obama. President Obama. President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama.
I like the sound of that.
And I love to hear the sound of Tucker Carlson whining about how the streets were closed yesterday.
Oh what a beautiful morning. I am so relieved.
I just want to say, “Thank you Attaturk, thank you Jane and Christy, thank you to ALL Firedogs who blogged, and read, and commented here over the past five years. Thank you all for helping make this day a reality.
Now let’s get back to work and make it even better.
She would have but she know Obama would have her phone tapped.
Unforkin’ amazing….thanks for the linky!
Also forkin’ unbelievable – blabbing heads on scar bitchin’ about how their freedom of movement was restricted by security in Washington yesterday; *now* they get pissed about losses of freedom? Oh, and they’re totally insensed (sp?) about Rev. Lowery’s prayer (negative to white people)….surprise, surpise.
And here I was tellin’ Marion yesterday to turn them off *g* – *click*
Someone needs to stuff a sock full of (chose your preferred ingredient) in his mouth.
Glad to see you’re taking your own good advice!
A strong 11 degrees here (NH) and in need of banana waffles.
Crap. I was hoping the video was of Americans also booing Joe Lieberman! Oh well. While searching for one though, I found this one:

It’s John McCain dodging the question about his ties to the PNAC and 9/11/01.
Will Peggy Noonan ever get over herself?
There are some disadvantages of retirement….a few years back I’d have been long gone to work and the temptation wouldn’t exist. *G*
No need to ask which channel that twit’s on. :-(
No. This has been another installment of short answers…
So if there were no pardons does that mean they nothing wrong?
I just watched a clip of President Obama signing the confirmation of the Cabinet members that were confirmed yesterday. He was seated surrounded by Pelosi, Hoyer, Biden, Feinstein, and Reid.
The look on his face as he opened his pen and signed the document was priceless. The image of the six applauding white people surrounding a seated black man, the man in charge, was more than priceless.
Things are different already.
Well, in order to issue a pardon you’ve got to acknowledge a pardonable offense. God knows we all understand that W and his gang of thugs and fixers were guilty of unpardonable offenses, and now it appears that W agrees with us, at least as far as the “unpardonable” bit goes… I don’t think he has any concept that he/they did anything illegal. Amazing, actually…
To issue a preemptive pardon to his cronies would be an admission that someone might possible have done something wrong.
This is something that George W. Bush is incapable of.
It was truly a great moment for sure. All of yesterday was great. For the first time in 8 years I actually felt connected to the President! Weird.
BTW, per Weather Channel it is 33 degrees/feels like 25 here in The City Beautiful. While that may not sound bad – and actually warm-to most of you, it’s plenty cold for us here.
yeah. and yesterday the ones right before Obama on the way out to the stage – if I remember right – were Feinstein ad Pelosi. 2 women and a black guy the people of highest honor at an Inauguration? Cool. (Even though Feinstein did nothing to deserve it, but still……..)
Lieberman wasn’t invited to the McCain dinner? I didn’t know that. Wonderful.
speaking of not invited……………. I heard yesterday that all guvs get tkts. makes sense. was Blamey the only guv who didn’t show (besides Blago)? anybody know?
Snort! And after all he did for McCain… It’s enough to make a cat laugh!
Firedup?
Ready to go?

It’s 18 degrees here, brrr. Earlier I went out to buy the NYTimes and the AJC. Hopefully, I don’t toss these like I did the day after the election.
Mark Shields said that what amazed him was when Obama went back to his office and Nancy Pelosi, an Italian Anmerican, Feinstein, Jewish and Harry Reid a Mormon stood next to him. The faces of America.
I found Obama’s speech to be depressing. He had some great lines but this sentence stopped my world.
Lieberman: A Wuss’s Wuss!
jeez. i’m so friigin’ ignorant. did not know reid was a mormon. learn something new everyday.
is not was a mormon
Is anyone watching GMA? It seems as though the White House staff had special plans for the Obama girls. They planned a scavenger hunt so they could learn their way around the White House. Behind one door was The Jonas Brothers. Can you imagine the yells that occurred when they opened the door.
I’d yell for sure. I had to use google to find out who the hell the Jonas Bros. were. Must be getting old.
Good morning! I went to the innaguration yesterday and it was a great day to be an american in DC! It was not really as cold as one would have thought, but then again i was surrounded, actually squished, by thousands of people. and yes i also boooed Bush!
awesome!
Thanks for being there to boo in person,
what a relief to have them out of Washington.
Swim’s up
palin was a no-show, wasn’t she?
I for one, would also yell if I found the Jonas Brothers hiding in my house.
And then I’d get the gun.
