Good Evening firedogs;
Martin Luther King Day tommorrow remember all the brave folks who made it possible for anAfrican American citizens to take the levers of power. Hope he uses them well.
One day, one hour, fifty seven minutes.
Bush is already pretty much done and his fucking lackies cleaned out their desks Friday but I am counting this motherfucker ALL the way down.
What’s on my mind tonight? I’m kinda brain-dead from too much TV. I spent the weekend being ultra-nice to my mom who turned 80 today, and that included watching all of Obama’s whistle stops yesterday on CSpan, etc. She has been a huge Obama fan since ‘04, she is just all happy n sparkly. I’m pleased to see it. She also plans on volunteering tomorrow … sheesh. She makes me feel like a slug.
Driving around here in Denver with “Free at Last!!” written on my back window… Lots an’ lots an’ lots of honks and thumbs up and peace signs. It makes me warm all over. Plus we never have to worry again about putting food on our families!
i was a slug – only did the must do part of the grocery shopping today. tomorrow, i’m gonna be a slug. tuesday, i’m gonna be a slug. maybe wed i’ll think about doing some more of the stuff on the list i did not get today. or maybe thursday (laughing).
The folks that brought us “Backwards Bush” have a new “Shrub Survivor” website. I think they have a graphic that will fill the empty space where your countdown used to go quite nicely.
I’m so bummed I didn’t find ‘em in time to get an order shipped to me prior to the inauguration!
good for you! I took mom to Target etc yesterday, we were enjoying the heat wave of 22 or however the heck high it was. Planning on any, umm, “indiscrete” postcards from the vet while Granny is around? Did she ever forgive you for that? or was that Granny on the other side of the family?
“Over the Wall We Go” was an early Bowie song on prison life in England…Reminds me of reh Authoritarian Pink Floyd All in all it was just a brick in the wall.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.
Bowie is a neat guy at the C festival he was the closer after a three day concert in the desert
Suze, being one of the Bestest Mods on teh toobz disqualifies you for slug-hood. Unless that conflicts with your foul-mouthed fem blogger status, are fem bloggers also supposed to live on cheetos while lounging in their jammies. Hmmm. I’d better think this thru.
and to think that he claimed that his deciderating came after much and deep conversating with advisors. I think he was doodling with his crayons in much of these meetings and the only conversating happening had nothing to do with him.
It may take 500 years,” ‘Coulter’ said. “But I will still be here, leading a band of survivors in a post-apocalyptic America where we battle against gangs of Osama bin-single mothers. And I shall cackle and cackle that you ever doubted George Bush.”
nahant had a problem with that last nite. are you using the html for paragraph breaks (p) and (/p) but with the carrots or are you using the enter key?
Indeed! My just-turned-80 mom was fielding b’day calls from friends across the country today, and i could tell from mom’s side of the conversation that it was pretty unanimous in the little-old-lady-history-nut world that everyone was thrilled to have a president-elect who was so intelligent, so articulate, etc, etc. I’m pretty pleased with the notion myself. I think it will be simply marvy to have a President whose IQ is in triple digits.
Yup better late than never Neuro! How are you doing?? I had to look around to see if you were around as I was late getting here… late dinner .. all Obama’s fault ‘g’
gah! safari did a brainfart. That was supposed to reply to nahant, and a 2nd reply going to larue was s’posed to tell him to get better STAT! (at least browser didn’t crash, sigh)
It just occurred to me that Pete Seeger and Obama have something in common. I’ve been to some of Pete’s concerts (decades ago), and they never were about him performing. It was all about getting us to participate. He did a song called “Garbage” in which he divided the audience into 3 parts. All we had to do was say the word “Garbage” when he pointed at our section. Then, when he got to the chorus of the song, he’d point to one section, then the next, and then the next, and it was like a rolling wave of garbage:
Oh, Garbage, garbage, garbage, garbage
We’re filling up the seas with garbage
What will we do when there’s no place left
To put all the garbage
He added that chorus in 1969, so I must have seen him perform in the 1970s (in the 80s, I was doing other things).
Obama? He had a place in one of his stump speeches where he talked about how the pundits completely misunderstood his campaign. He said ‘this campaign has never been about me; its about you!’ or words to that effect. His campaign has been all about getting people involved and participating. And that’s what his website “Change.gov” is ostensibly about, as well.
Well it has been nice here at the Lake today Ian, Suin and the rest of the post, comments and links. Nahant, Suz and all and your heroine Nacy Pelosi who chickened out on the Impeachment…now that Bush is gone is getting stones? Isn’t politics amazing up is down and in is out…politics is predictable always corrupt. That’s the way it works.
By the way didn’t we bomb a civilian population with an atom bomb twice?
Denial is a river in egypt after all. The Bedouin stories from Sinai were pretty interesting…Mr. Blair ie pen name George Orwell would be proud of them for not caving to the authoritarian.
After all the pomp and ceremony is done the act begins pass the popcorn.
I’m thinking maybe Pelosi and the dems had a plan in keeping impeachment off the table. We did win in a really big way, and the war criminals can still be prosecuted.
maybe boosh handed the pardon assignment to some of those reality-challenged “loyal bushies” that Gonzo and his minions hired at the Department of Justice (after rejecting any attorney, no matter how highly qualified, who was found to be a Democrat and/or a liberal) and processing the pardons was just more than they could handle, Regent University didn’t offer that course…heh heh
If Bush does go to prison I guess I might forgive … but not unless he does serve time for War Crimes! Oh and it better be for longer than his time in the office he stole!
one thing you can be sure of, boosh won’t be staying up late at night signing any pardons…he always goes to bed early, even if we are mired down in two wars, the Middle East is getting blown to hell, and the American economy is collapsing…
I know but… Which reminds me of dinner marinated sirloin pork roast, Brussels sprouts and and Mac & Cheese Kraft of course… my sweetie makes great Mac&cheese with all the doctoring she does to it(>))
Anyone see Meet the Press today? David Gregory was such a prick (excuse my language) to Rahm Emanuel. He acted like an angry prosecutor grilling a suspect on the witness chair. Really annoyed me.
Oh that Alice Martin! She is one of those who think Obama can’t fire them… Seems I remember they serve at the pleasure of the President… At least that what we were told when all those other USDA’s got fired!
Today on Meet The Press, David Gregory who is the new host, grilled President elect Barack Obama’s new Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel about everything that our new President wants to accomplish in rectifying the disasters created by the Repugs over the last eight years. It was an insulting and ugly display by Mr. Gregory, who came off as a nasty right wing-nut trying to de-rail new policies before they are even given a chance.
Well if you saw today’s episode of Meet The Press, you would see it is not about Rahm Emanuel the man, but the man who represents our new President and his agenda for our country.
If you don’t support our new President and his agenda for our country before he even gets a chance to try, then I don’t know what to say for any of us.
At the moment, I’m trying to consider if Speaker Pelosi opens the floodgates and Bush and Cheney have to do the perp walk, will that make everything OK with taking impeachment off the table, and failing to press charges on the subpoena issues, etc?
I’m thinking that while seeing the perp walk might help settle the score that no one is above the law, it would not erase the self-emasculation by the 110th Congress, and the failure of its members to fulfill their oath of office to defend the Constitution. Furthermore, if Pelosi, Rockefeller, Harman and/or others are guilty of collusion with BushCo on torture, or FISA, etc, they, too, must be held accountable. If they, too, have committed crimes, then they, too, should do the perp walk. I don’t give a d*mn who they are. I don’t care if Nancy was the first woman to be Speaker. If you do the crime, you (should) do the time.
If there were certain dangers that Pelosi avoided by taking impeachment off the table, let us have an honest discussion of them. Until then, I am holding Pelosi responsible for malfeasance of office.
That was my point, David Gregory wasn’t attacking Rahm Emanuel, he was attacking President Obama’s agenda to try to put our country back together. Emanuel is just a mouthpiece.
Many more voices like MLK will arise out of the rubble of Gaza. Iraq and the rest of the oppressed peoples of the world as in China. For every action there is a reaction. You can shun people bomb them and insult them. It will all come back to the source. This was my introduction to Humanity:
The Family of Man was a photography exhibition curated by Edward Steichen first shown in 1955 at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
According to Steichen, the exhibition represented the ‘culmination of his career’. The 503 photos by 273 photographers in 68 countries were selected from almost 2 million pictures submitted by famous and unknown photographers. These photos offer a striking snapshot of the human experience which lingers on birth, love, and joy, but also touches war, privation, illness and death. His intention was to prove visually the universality of human experience and photography’s role in its documentation.
The exhibit was turned into a book of the same name, containing an introduction by Carl Sandburg who was Steichen’s brother-in-law. The book was reproduced in a variety of formats (most popularly a pocket-sized volume) in the 1950s, and reprinted in large format for its 40th anniversary. It has sold more than 4 million copies.
Wow what a great book about the peoples of the planet as a family.
I agree with you that Pelosi is a collaborator of the worst kind and people in her district should not vote her another term. However, it is an unfortunate truth that we as Americans don’t often go after any of the criminals in our legislative branches, or any of our governing branches for that matter.
I agree, but remember our worries if there were a permanent republican majority? I remember being really worried that our rights to assemble would be shot down. Literally.
I remember that! It was one of my favorite books all through high school and college. Alas, packed away in a box at the moment. I will be glad to be settled into a new place this year and get all my wonderful old books unpacked.
Well with whatever complaints I have with the world not being a perfect place, and I have many, I am still looking forward with a hopeful heart to Tuesday, January 20, 2009 when our new President Barack Obama is inaugurated into office.
well, i’d like to be in Northeast Minneapolis, real close to my job. Thought i was going to have to move far, far away to find work, but lo & behold, a job dropped in my lap after 3 years of underemployment. My living situation got kind of discombobulated due to spookly interference, but things should be all straightened out in a few months.
its forking amazing how much better that forking little pill can make stuff ndfg. i got so used to feeling eh – twas a wonderful thing to really feel good – and think clearly – again.
Do you know how this thyroid thing works? My sister, who is a year older than me had a thyroid problem and is on medication suggested that my tiredness and feelings of blah might be due to the same thing. I should probably check it out with a doctor. I just hate to go the the doctor. Don’t really know why, just a prediliction I guess.
Thanks Suzanne I will check these out, I am so tired (forgive th pun) of feeling tired and low energy. I used to have tons of energy and could go on and on with anything.
please go! I went in for another matter, and the dr wanted a routine physical since it’d been decades since i had a physical. Lo & behold the thyroid level came back at 1/3 normal level. The dr was listing symptoms (exhaustion, brain-fog, always cold, sleeping way more than i used to and never feeling rested, brittle nails, hoarsness, etc) and i was going yeah, yeah, i didn’t think to mention it because i thought it was normal for someone my age! I started feeling better after just 4 days of medication tho my doc said it’d take several weeks to a month to notice an improvement. Get it checked! don’t delay!
well, you can email me at gjuerne (that’s norwegian, the name of my cat) at g mail dot com and i can pull you into the loop of people i’m keeping informed of the latest developments.
thanks ndfg, I will check it out with the doctor. My sister has a low thyroid condition, I understand it is hereditary so I may have the samd condition. I can’t much stand feeling not myself anymore, it has been really awful the last six months.
i gotta say, it was amazing how fast i lost the weight after having baby girl. i was diagnosed when she was 8 months and radiated when she was 11 months. and i figured my not sleeping was cause i had a new baby. felt like i had 1,000 things going. when my resting pulse was found to be 137 laying in bed, i got my tushkie to the doc.
Painfully, I really don’t like to go to the doctor, I haven’t been in about seven years. Not a very healthy way to go about life I know, but I just don’t like doctors. I am sick of feeling not quite myself though, so i will go.
time to get your plumbing checked out – i know, i’m overdue myself – i also come from a long line of procrastinators (laughing). this spring i’ll be headed to the doc for a checkup – as soon as i find which one i like at the kaiser closest to me. i’m gonna ask my internest at kaiser down in ca if she has any suggestions on who to see up the in west pdx area.
yeah, i found out afterward that my mom & aunt are on low-thyroid med, and that my dear departed dad was as well. Thanks for telling me mom! So i’m bugging my sisters to get checked, they have the same feelings/vague symptoms. The thyroid affects just about every system in the body, it sure makes a difference now that my levels are coming back up.
Thanks! Mrs. Bob in HI has been dallying in SoCal with her family for the past two weeks and returns Monday evening. I’ve been trying to get our new apt ready for her return (I still haven’t finished moving in yet, after 2 months!)
i know! I faint upon occasion when i get blood drawn, i am that phobic about needles. But i’m sure glad i went ahead and had the routine blood work done for a physical, or i wouldn’t have found out and i’d still be dragging around in an exhausted i-can’t-think fog.
yikes! and i think mine was starting to freeze shut. I wasn’t happy the last few years unless the temp outside was at least in the 80’s so’s i could finally get warmed up.
ndfg, i was high and then made low – so i’m familiar with both sides of that coin – and then 8 years to figure out the synthetic replacement didn’t do the trick for me. now that i’m on the old fashioned stuff, the old me is back again.
Thank you so much ndfg for your encouragement, i will go to the doctor. I really want to feel myself again. No more dragging around and brain fog for me.
g’night Suze! So far the artificial stuff seems to be working just fine for me (and i hope it stays that way). But i am very glad you have a med that works well for you.
g’night newton *waves*
Sophie, keep us posted! It is truly wonderful to be feeling more like my real self. I hope you find out soon.
LooHoo, i’d sure like to go again this year, i’ll have to see how much vacation i have accumulated by summer. it’d be fun to see you again.
Thank you again suzanne for hosting such a great latelatenite fdl. As always you are the best, and thanks for letting us discuss “women’s” issues, you may just have “saved” my life. You are a great “lady”.
*pops back in again for a moment on the way to brushing teeth* well, i certainly feel like a newfarmgrrrlll after only 2-1/2 weeks on thyroid meds! *g*
Zed!
Good Evening firedogs;

The folks that brought us “Backwards Bush” have a new “Shrub Survivor” website. I think they have a graphic that will fill the empty space where your countdown used to go quite nicely.
I’m so bummed I didn’t find ‘em in time to get an order shipped to me prior to the inauguration!
I visited a client today who years ago put a “I thought I’d never miss Nixon” bumper sticker on his car.
When I arrived, he was peeling it off.

Okay he is allowed to say those two words but nothing more than that.
No more made up words?
Two sentences , back to back, that actually make sense?
I was starting to feel pretty damn elite because I could speak in English.
“Over the Wall We Go” was an early Bowie song on prison life in England…Reminds me of reh Authoritarian Pink Floyd All in all it was just a brick in the wall.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.

Yeah, turns out you’re just a regular shmo like the rest of us. Thank G*d.
Better a Shmo than a Shrub any day, yes?
I haz to fall down now. Gthud!
Hey! Fem bloggers can wear any damn thing they want, an’ eat any damn thing they want while doin’ it!
and to think that he claimed that his deciderating came after much and deep conversating with advisors. I think he was doodling with his crayons in much of these meetings and the only conversating happening had nothing to do with him.
g’thud busted
Heh, Newt.
I heard that One of the Obama daughters said, “First African-American president. You’d better be good.”

How are you? We just watched the Lincoln Memorial Tribute. Pretty awesome. I did some heavy arm waving and singing here in front of our cozy fire.

That new-fangled Moddin’ Chair of hers comes fully loaded.
You restore my faith in the intelligence of my fellow americans!
Heh, Mr. CE watches it in the basement while I’m into Lost in Austen. Sorry, it is the love of the 19th century that drives me.
I enjoyed it but I admit I was a bit shallow in that I was checking out what the ladies were wearing.
i think crayons were probably too intellectually challenging for him.
snicker.
I assume the girls were front and center…
What a ride they are about to go on.
finger paints then?
Hey Wobbs,
But everything was correct. The prints, the furniture, the clothes, I loved it all!
‘Coulter’: Torture is ‘good’ and ‘Christian-y’
What a good laugh from SNL But ya know I wouldn’t put it past her to really think that!!
I agree. Won’t it be nice to move into an era where it’s no longer necessary(or pc) to make fun of the village idiot?
We were right! She really is a cockroach!
i’m hoping we can all feel hopeful again instead of everything being such a downer.
Pelosi wants investigation of Bush officials, open to prosecutions
WTF she must have made room on the Table /s
agreed. I enjoyed every minute of it. I just felt bad for the people freezing out there (won’t even mention how warm it was here today)
A cackling cockroach!
sure, now that he has done all the damage he could do.
nancy never learned about being proactive and instead is reactive – to the political winds.
Nah she is just a witch using potions to look younger than her 1000 years and hiding her black heart..
I forgot another possibility – she may also be a Twinkie™.
she really packs her insults to offend as many groups as possible. What a miserable creature she must be.
I sure wish Cindy had ousted her!
((Wobbs))–;)
Does anyone else have huge frustrations with the editing system at Oxdown?
We did see everyone’s breath! That was so obvious.
the only reason nancy is even open to talking about it is because now it is politically safe to do so.
nancy and harry need to lose their gavels (spitting)
i’m not aware of any wigwam. what kinda problems and have ya written the ox help about it?
oxdownblog at gmail dot com
I loved seeing Pete Seeger again.
They should have their “Gavel” shoved up their respective dark places for how they have led both the house and Senate!
It seems to want to erase my paragraphing. It will actually erase my paragraph breaks.
It was wonderful!
nahant had a problem with that last nite. are you using the html for paragraph breaks (p) and (/p) but with the carrots or are you using the enter key?
Was one of my favorite moments.
We always love to see Pete perform. I remember him back in the early sixties and he looked old then but he sure did look good today!
I caught a little of that. Wonderful.

Hi guys. That was such a cool concert today. Hope is alive!!!
larue has a killer mulled wine recipe
I’m thinking maybe Pelosi and the dems had a plan in keeping impeachment off the table. We did win in a really big way, and the war criminals can still be prosecuted.
WHERE ARE THE PARDONS?

maybe boosh handed the pardon assignment to some of those reality-challenged “loyal bushies” that Gonzo and his minions hired at the Department of Justice (after rejecting any attorney, no matter how highly qualified, who was found to be a Democrat and/or a liberal) and processing the pardons was just more than they could handle, Regent University didn’t offer that course…heh heh
Letterman has his 10 favorite GWB moments up.
If Bush does go to prison I guess I might forgive … but not unless he does serve time for War Crimes! Oh and it better be for longer than his time in the office he stole!
Too funny! He tried to pardon his crooked buddies, but his DOJ people were just too freaking stupid to pull it off!

if boosh is to do any pardons, they would almost have to come out on Monday, and that would be truly obscene, it being MLK Day…
or maybe he will be signing them Tuesday morning while he and Mrs. Bush are having coffee with Mr. & Mrs. Obama before the swearing-in…
nah, he wouldn’t do that, Obama said he’s a “good guy”…
Maybe Alice Fisher has the pardons.. She’s not going anywhere.
But sniff sniff I can’t have any….(:>((
Doc’s and all… sure hate those piss tests…
one thing you can be sure of, boosh won’t be staying up late at night signing any pardons…he always goes to bed early, even if we are mired down in two wars, the Middle East is getting blown to hell, and the American economy is collapsing…
In the mail???
I already heard they ARE coming from one of Bush’s people today in an interview on CNN…
you can toast with some sparkling apple cider dood – and some wicked kick ass bbq
straight to god/dess’ ears! War criminals can still be prosecuted!
Not to bust any bubbles, but the ONLY thing Nancy is talking about investigating is the politicization of the Justice dept…
…we wouldn’t want to investigate crimes that NANCY may have to answer for her complicity in…
if you’re still lurking, go read my lecture at rp. *another stern glare*
I’m sure you’re right. Resignation, and Cheney pardons Bush.
I know but… Which reminds me of dinner marinated sirloin pork roast, Brussels sprouts and and Mac & Cheese Kraft of course… my sweetie makes great Mac&cheese with all the doctoring she does to it(>))
What are you saying? I don’t get it.
It sounded to me like there are plans in the works but that she didn’t want to be too specific…pardons and all.
And her buddy ” Mr. Magic Underwear”…no more party official wearing them magic pants.
ding!
Oops, I meant Alice Martin.
John McCain won’t let Cindy go on ‘Dancing With The Stars.’
Awww straight talk John won’t let poor Cindy go dancing(:>(( Poor thing..
After all, he promised the bikers they could her chest first.
I LOVE the obama cookies at RP!
I’ve half decided to make with the kids!
Yeah what’s up with that??? Oh yeah he isn’t running for prezident any more..
Serve at the pleasure of the president????
That is SOOOO 2006 of you. The rules, they are a changin!
Oh, that! I read about that earlier. Can’t leave DOJ, too much to do. Wonder how Holder will handle this one.
Holder is a lousy choice for AG, but if he orders agents to put her shit out on the steps of the building on day one, it will be a very good start.
I’m making those cookies tomorrow!! Thanks! Even the republican teachers will eat them because they can’t turn down food.
friday – that way he can say he gave her a chance but she would not go along with the changes.
Wouldn’t it? A new sheriff in town.
Funny, that’s exactly how it works with nurses, also!
You have to go a long, long way to engender sympathy for Rahm Emanuel.
and everyone in law enforcement, from dispatchers to street cops to crime lab folks.
Well if you saw today’s episode of Meet The Press, you would see it is not about Rahm Emanuel the man, but the man who represents our new President and his agenda for our country.
Let Rahm handle Martin. He’s a Chicago boy.
Junkfood brings us all together.
If you don’t support our new President and his agenda for our country before he even gets a chance to try, then I don’t know what to say for any of us.
Rahm Emanuel is a street-fighting Chicago pol, and a nasty piece of work. He will be just fine, and he is Obama’s choice for CoS.
food and music are some of the glues that binds us through out history

Music is what you can’t stop from getting inside you and affecting you, for good or bad, unless that is if you are deaf.
However, it is an unfortunate truth that we as Americans don’t often go after any of the criminals in our legislative branches, or any of our governing branches for that matter.
slackjaw jezebel
I agree, but remember our worries if there were a permanent republican majority? I remember being really worried that our rights to assemble would be shot down. Literally.
Well time to hit the hay Pups .. good night all!
I will have to look for this, it sounds incredible.
Peace and sweet dreams cuz, I made pecan pie cookie bars yesterday and thought of you.
nite nahant
g’nite nahant
“I am holding Pelosi responsible for malfeasance of office.” I’m with you on that.
Sweet dreams, nahant. Thanks for all of your shovel ready work.
I remember that! It was one of my favorite books all through high school and college. Alas, packed away in a box at the moment. I will be glad to be settled into a new place this year and get all my wonderful old books unpacked.
Hey! Here’s Pete Seeger on the toobz singing about garbage!
Ah, the marvels of the toobz!

Repuke convention rights to assembme were quashed by multiple police powers 2008 our rights are not restored
Here’s a funny. Trash cans filled up today in DC.
Where are you settling? Or are you? We’ve got Suz on the Oregon coast…
It is the ultimate coffee table book
Well with whatever complaints I have with the world not being a perfect place, and I have many, I am still looking forward with a hopeful heart to Tuesday, January 20, 2009 when our new President Barack Obama is inaugurated into office.
Right, but look at who was in charge of “Homeland” security. It could have gotten much darker. I’m seeing some rays of light.
I’m with you, there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel…
well, i’d like to be in Northeast Minneapolis, real close to my job. Thought i was going to have to move far, far away to find work, but lo & behold, a job dropped in my lap after 3 years of underemployment. My living situation got kind of discombobulated due to spookly interference, but things should be all straightened out in a few months.
Ah yah great stuff sing along and save the planet from ourselves. Thank you Bob hope the new marraige is fine.
yes, and the images in total never fail to move me.
good to hear that things are looking up ndfg
Indeed! Even tho i have to work, my heart will be lighter that day than it’s been in a long time.
Hey, we were talking about Obama cookies earlier, but did you see this Obama cake?
I caught a drift, but never heard the whole story. Spookesville.
sweet lil angel
and that is a very good thing indeed!
yeppers, and 2-1/2 weeks on thyroid meds have made a HUGE difference. I blame a lot of what i went thru on low-thyroid-brain-fog *g*
well, send me a message on FB to jog my brain, i’ll email you with some of the juicy details *g*
its forking amazing how much better that forking little pill can make stuff ndfg. i got so used to feeling eh – twas a wonderful thing to really feel good – and think clearly – again.
Thanks, Suzanne! What a treat.
i was looking for some duane allman – that lineup will have to do (laughing)
Do you know how this thyroid thing works? My sister, who is a year older than me had a thyroid problem and is on medication suggested that my tiredness and feelings of blah might be due to the same thing. I should probably check it out with a doctor. I just hate to go the the doctor. Don’t really know why, just a prediliction I guess.
Suz, has something changed at FDL in the last few days? My refresh time has taken a nose dive.
(I’m on freaking dialup so my expectations aren’t high – just wondering if it’s FDL or at my end)
yeah, i luuurrrrvvvvs having my brain back. I’m not all the way back to normal *coughs* but it sure is an improvement over just a month ago.
Sunny, I had that happen with Safari yesterday. I cleared the history and cache, and all is better.
google graves disease for high thyroid and hashimoto’s disease for low
i have graves and was radiated to make me low, which is controllable.
first i’ve heard of it sunny – try clearing your cache and see if that helps.
love the not foggy feeling – and being able to sleep for longer than an hour. on the other hand, my hair and fingernails grew really fast.
Thanks Suzanne I will check these out, I am so tired (forgive th pun) of feeling tired and low energy. I used to have tons of energy and could go on and on with anything.
and sophie, family history does play into your odds so ask your sister what kinda she has.
I can’t remember how to use facebook, it’s been so long…
I find my account, but it’s way different than the last time I was on!
Last night I couldn’t sleep more than an hour at a time, really kills me for the day ahead….
find out and then have your doc do the blood test when you go next
well, you can email me at gjuerne (that’s norwegian, the name of my cat) at g mail dot com and i can pull you into the loop of people i’m keeping informed of the latest developments.
thanks ndfg, I will check it out with the doctor.
I so don’t like having the plumbing checked out, it is such a drag. I know it is necessary, but I have had some bad experiences.
Newt and Suz, thanks. I’ll work on it.
yeah, i found out afterward that my mom & aunt are on low-thyroid med, and that my dear departed dad was as well.
Bob in HI
Thanks for the affirmative action response. I will (I want to say difinitely) get myself checked out. I don’t know why I am so frightened of it.
i’m certainly glad you did get your tushkie to the doc. Wow. You woulda burnt out in a hurry, “My Life as a Bottle-Rocket.”
my endocrinologist described it as the thermostat for the entire body and mine was going at full blast.
i know! I faint upon occasion when i get blood drawn, i am that phobic about needles. But i’m sure glad i went ahead and had the routine blood work done for a physical, or i wouldn’t have found out and i’d still be dragging around in an exhausted i-can’t-think fog.
Okay, sent a very brief email! It was so nice to meet you in Austin!
It would be nice if the thyroid issue is the problem. Easy to fix. Best!
yikes! and i think mine was starting to freeze shut. I wasn’t happy the last few years unless the temp outside was at least in the 80’s so’s i could finally get warmed up.
yes it was a blast! are you going to netroots this year?
yikes – it’s after 1 o’clock in the forking morning. attaturk will be up shortly.
time for me to head out pups. thanks for hanging out with me tonight.
ndfg, i was high and then made low – so i’m familiar with both sides of that coin – and then 8 years to figure out the synthetic replacement didn’t do the trick for me. now that i’m on the old fashioned stuff, the old me is back again.
g’nite for realsies
Goodnight Suz!
NDFG, I bought the netroots ticket, but still haven’t booked the room or the air.
nite suz. bailing out here
Thank you so much ndfg for your encouragement, i will go to the doctor. I really want to feel myself again. No more dragging around and brain fog for me.
I put the thermostat in my house on 79 degrees on cold days, that is just crazy!
You know, I live by myself, I guess you just don’t know on your own when you have lost it….;-)
g’night Suze!
Duh. And i was going to say goodnight myself. All of a sudden my bod is saying “bed-time!” And the pillows are singing a seductive song.
G’night Pups! It’s been wonderful taking a long swim in the Lake again.
Peace and sweet dreams newfarmgrrlll, thanks for your support.
sorry I left out the “deal”.
Nighters, newtonusr. Are you going to Netroots?
Attaturk is upstairs!
Stay on his lawn!
Yes you do. That’s why you’ll see the doc.
Night.
sweet….
Thanks Loo Hoo…. I think I can, I think I can…
