I am sure there have been many cases of torture in the past where it was either “we wont get caught” or we have to do it and if we get caught “so be it”.

Goes right along with an article I saved about stationing that army unit on American soil for assistance in crowd control. Last paragraph was a statement by Gen’l Tommy Franks that if we were ‘hit’ again it would probably mean we would have to scrap the Constitutional form of government and the country would be governed by the military.
