neuro!
Suz!
Digg it right now!
newton!
thanks for opening the digg neuro
TV guide channel just said that Kate Beckinsale seemed nervous at some awards thing and they flashed the name of the movie she was promoting “Nothing but the Truth”.
I wonder if someone told her the truth about her movie?
crap – i forgot to tune into kpig for dirty boogie
Not reading Marcy is hazardous to your credibility. And your career.
things! how’s your weather? starting to get windy and sorta rainy here and the temp is rising
Suze! Neuro! Newton! Things! gollygosh! Pups i recognise tonight.
What’s on my mind? Ghostly images.
And i’m still utterly sick of Norm Coleman’s antics.
So how’re all you folks?
ndfg!
OK, Suz – this toon is completely new to me – I can’t imagine how it got past me all those years ago. A goodie!
its the same age i am
Its warm which is weird the rain was semi hard which is also weird Seattle tends to have a constant drizzle. This year we got a lot of snow again thats not normal.
I thinks its global warming.
Hi suz, hey Token!
Ahh, good evening dogs.
I am sitting here on my ass, watching the Tee Vee, something I don’t do, swilling adult beverages and enjoying the modern conveniences of a washer and dryer.
Me and the 95 year old Granny have already butted heads a couple of times but I ain’t afeared.
After doing some cat herding I am so looking forward to cat wrasslin, V2.0.
Whoo hoo!
that is indeed what many meteorologists are claiming – changes of those types in precipitation.
Suzanne, what a great cartoon! I love the old cartoons for their artistic beauty. They really are so beautiful. Do you remember a cartoon about the three little kittens who lost their mittens in the Milky Way?
hey sunny (token gives ya tail wag)
things, it’s been drizzle all evening here but it is getting heavier.
hey busted
hey sophie
busted! I luuurrrrvvvvs your cat stories.
And it appeals to my intelligence level..you finally hit my stupid. Manhole. Cliff and falling off of buildings. I can hear the kids screaming running around the theatre before the preview.
Oh dear Busted, I hope that you feel better soon. I also hope that you don’t mind the kitty wrasslin.
its ringing a vague bell sophie – there are several kittens lost their mittens toons. many of the older toons are based on various nursery rhymes
hey bb
This year in the lead actress category, the “Kate” effect is in full swing with Winslet coming in with her SAG- and Golden Globe-nominated performances as April Wheeler in “Revolutionary Road” and as Hanna Schmitz in “The Reader.” Blanchett is back in contention for a nod as part of the ensemble in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Aiming for her first nomination is Critics’ Choice contender Kate Beckinsale for “Nothing but the Truth.” And then there’s two-time Oscar winner Emma Thompson (for acting and writing) for her Globe-nominated turn in “Last Chance Harvey.

My bold Judy Miller is never going to be forced to give up her Pulitzer will she?
The one I am talking about is the absolute best old cartoon that ever was. The little kittens lost their mittens and their mother cat was very angry and sent them to bed without their milk so they dreamed about the milky way, with stars spilling milk and moons dripping milk for them to have. It is the best old cartoon that ever was made, IMHO.
I’ll tell ya what, I been sufferin’ fer a week with a rib being dislocated.
I came over here and got stupid relaxed and brought my new heating pad.
I slept in the skinny recliner with the heating pad and woke up out of a dead sleep about three o’clock this morning and wrenched back and forth, half awake and popped that sonofabitch back in and went right back to sleep.
I feel a hundred percent better!
try googling that description – there are several film databases that also store cartoon info (like at the 1954 link in my post)
Hi sophie. Could’a used a little professional chef help yesterday. Made Maya Angelou’s banana pudding. Took forever – hard work for a homey dish.
Was trying to emulate something yummy from a local BBQ joint. Have new respect for their cook. Believe I’ll just enjoy hers in the future.
ya finally broke the spasm that was preventing ya from poppin it in earlier?
the best and easiest banana pudding recipe i know is the one on the back of the box of vanilla wafers – iirc, its also available online
Tonight I got to see one of my most favorite movies, The Commitments, made in 1991, directed by Alan Parker. It is a movie about some poor Dubliner kid who believe in the beauty of American Soul music. I wish you would all watch this great movie. Rent it and if you don’t think it is great, I will refund your money.
Heck I got to remember to download the soundtrack from itunes sometime.
I prefer my vanilla wafers without the banana pudding, thank you!
Yep, had to get stupid relaxed and turn the heating pad on high but the body takes over the mind and says , do it now.
Sophie I remember it, and I found it
I know that recipe and it IS good and easy. Just got carried away..
8 eggs, cornstarch pudding and baked meringue top. I even found special skinny wafers – if I’d tried to make those, I’d prolly still be in the kitchen
Things
The activism in Seattle is super. The culture is too. The weather not so good. The Native American the town is named after was an interesting person. They ate a lot of clams, salmon and other good stuff.
I remember the WTO demonstrations. Cold is part of living there.
I have a friend…she and her husband had two babies and she works in a museum and want to move south where the weather is milder.
So you are one of the most prolific commentors on the Lake. What is the secret to all the research?
Busted, I’m so glad to hear you got that back into place.
Suz, i can’t believe I never heard of Percival Sleuthound before. THat’s a great cartoon.
What caused your problem in the recipe, maybe I can help?
some of the old classic recipes are the best.
i use the pecan pie recipe on the back of the karo syrup bottle – but i double the amount of pecans. and i use the oatmeal box for my meatloaf recipe, but i do tweak that one even more.

My Bold The IMF is calling for governments to run deficits just how bad is the economy?
FDR also raised taxes on the rich and legalized and taxed beer.
Getting rid of the Bush tax cuts… eh its a half measure. Also the states which are broke could tax pot.
If the IMF is selling out I wonder how long before Arnold will?
hey margot – i stumbled upon it while looking for tonights toon. was pure luck clicking around the utubes
Margot, thank you, thank you, thank you! This is my favorite cartoon of all time! You are the best! I sincerly thank you for finding it. I don’t know what else to say….
that’s good news! pain like that sure interferes with a good night’s sleep.
Read anything interesting and feel the need to talk about what you read. Stream of Consciousness is my writing style so I write off the top of my head.
The problem is editing. Oh and free time lots of freetime.
But thanks to the economy I will have to look for a job soon that should cut back the writing.
Suzanne you are still the best at finding the most of everything that is worth finding on you tube, music, cartoons, movie excerpts, whatever….
huh? where is our old austerity pushing IMF?
Oh one of our all time fav films! “try a little tenderness…”
Have you seen “Once” with Glen Hansard, from the Commitments?
Tweety is talking about the end of white culture. Tweety should interview the guy we had at the book club today. It made a good argument that class that determines politics more than race or religion.
I’m going to order the book now.
Don’t be tqaxing my beer and lay off the smokes too.
The difference between the same bottle of whiskey between Washington and Oregon is over three freakin’ dollars.
I kid you not, Washington has already pushed taxation on liquor out the window of reality. Cigarettes are the same. Four dollars a pack in Oregon and over Five Seventy across the river.
If ya ever run into some from Alabama called Bud’s Best minis, try em.
Mighty good. They inspired my BP adventure.
hey christine e – what was your breakfast in bed this morning?
Yeah they were famous for pushing right wing governments that tax the poor to keep their money at a certain value.
Then the IMF would make them loans they couldn’t afford and destroy their economies.
South America going Left in the 2000’s is a direct result of that policy.
Sealth was the chief that Saettle was named for. The usual white man theft of native lands. If not for sale for peanuts it was comandeered for the good of all…not.
Sophie, thank you but Suz has me beat by miles on finding cartoons. And songs, for that matter.
I’ll have to look up that movie, sounds like my kind of music.
Heh, heh, Suzanne,
I actually got OUT of bed and made bacon and eggs for “brunch.” But I did get an early tea tray. And it snowed about 20 inches today, so I cooked all day to keep warm.
Hiya, pups.
This is the first night since before Christmas when the thermometer is above zero F this late in the evening. Plus six.
hey chris!
Haven’t seen it. I’m in a Memento kinda mood these days.
woohoo et – must feel downright balmy in comparison
Oh I delivered newspapers for 3 years right when Bush was elected I would read the Times while bagging a few hundred newspapers. the IBD, the Trib, the Financial Times I read everything after 9/11 for months.
Cigarettes in California are $5.50 and climbing, liquor is comparably expensive, except for rotgut that would kill you early. I think that is the plan….
“Once” is a great love story for those who love music, especially buskers. It was a lovely film, and not at all soapy.
agree. wonder if the change is due to the folks at the IMF rejecting the old policy prescriptions (i mean, haven’t we had enough evidence of their failure?) or if the IMF has two different sets of policy prescriptions, one when our economy is threatened and another one for the rest of the world.
If cigarettes were $35.00 a pack might be better still. Or $150.00…..(I just quit)
I was talking about taxing pot. If pot were legal the price would drop because the price of getting arrested would be gone.
We could use the expectation of a higher price then to slip in a tax that nobody would notice and still drop the current price of pot.
Hiya Pups,
So great to “see” everyone.
I haven’t seen it yet, but I will definitely make it a priority. Thank you for the suggestion CE. Appreciated very much!
Good question I don’t know?
hey selise – how’s your evening?
This is a drivey by- but to let you know that Mr. Votus went to a town hall that Representative Brian Baird (WA-03–Bush Dog) held today, Baird said that health care is an entitlement, not a right. He sucks. I know of two people that could maybe take him on in the primary in 2010, and I will work toward seeing that come to fruition.
Good for you ET — we’ve been clean for about five years (can’t really remember the exact date but it did coincide with a trip to Boston). Hang in there. And yes, we have a sin tax here in Cleveland to help fund the arts.
At my blog, I just posted the results of my week-long poll on who might do well as a Democratic Party candidate in Alaska to run against Don Young in 2010. It featured eight strong possibilities.
Diane Benson won. I’m conducting a runoff now among the top three finishers.
Bloomberg reported negatives…500K more fired last month…earnings lower all around…Except Monsanto (the great polluter) has a whopping 50% increase in earnings…all state govs have budgets in the tanks…muni bond market is tougher…banks are not lending the bail money…downturn will be longer and harder than expected.
Bottom line we are now paying for the Bushco double dealing and free market deregulations of the casinos on wall street. More chain on Main street to declare BK. Housing starts worst in decades. Record foreclosures with more on the way. Obama stimulus 2/3 of what’s needed Krugman NYT Friday.
It’s called Karma when you fuck over enough people it comes back to you.
It’s been a lot easier than some of my earlier quits, that’s for sure. Very few pangs. I’ve been grumpy, but I’m a total asshole in midwinter anyway.
keep me posted votus.
more and better d’s are the key to the kind of change we need – we gotta al wynn more of the beltway.
enjoy the heat wave, ET!
damn. now i’m not going to be able to so easily bitch about weather here ( balmy 16F in MA now) *g*
50% in this market those kind of numbers sound too good to be true.
ET, I kept an unopened pack in my drawer for three years (one can soak tobacco and put it on bee stings — yes it does work). It was really hard for about three weeks, and then, so much easier. And I was really grumpy around midnight each night.
someone should teach Baird that reelection to Congress is not even an entitlement, much less a right…
At this rate — plus ten per night for three nights, we’ll be in the banana belt by Friday.
howdy suz. i’m fine, except for not being asleep. just thought i’d read up on the news and check in here…. how’s tricks with you?
ET, what do you think kept Diane from winning this time, and how could she change that next time?
You can see/hear some of the music from the Commitments on YouTube, will let you know if you would like to watch the movie. I wish I knew who to link stuff. I thing everyone would love this movie and the music.
i’m grooving to choctaw bingo on kpig and enjoying the bright night outside. can’t see the moon due to the clouds but i can see out almost to the spit tonight. tis a fine night to be in a creaky house with a fire blazing and good tunes playing.
Let me know. I’ll contribute measly little amounts for 2 years, but I’ll help.
well, that would kinda fit with the whole banana republic governance thing.
tonight’s full moon is the “biggest” and brightest we will see this year
I’ll see if I can find the link
excellent!
I feel very guilty because it was beautifully warm here today in Southern California that I had, and still have, my windows open to allow the fresh air…. I seriously have to have fresh air every day, I am addicted…..
It is a classic film, Sophie and Margot! I just love the cast, and the scenes of Dublin. The line went something like “the Irish are the Blacks of Europe” said Jimmy. And then they sing on the bus…Destination Anywhere. That Jimmy is a hoot.
In June 2008, it acquired De Ruiter and a related company. De Ruiter is a protected-culture vegetable seeds company based in the Netherlands with operations worldwide. In July 2008, the Company acquired Marmot, S.A., which operates Cristiani, a seed company. In December 2008, Monsanto acquired Aly Participacoes Ltda., which operates the sugarcane breeding and technology companies, CanaVialis S.A. and Alellyx S.A
http://www.reuters.com/finance…..038;rpc=66
Is this buyout mania stocks sometimes go up if they buy out another company.
Is it a bet that lower gas prices will give farmers more money to buy seed?
Or do they hope that by buying a European company they can sneak their Franken food seeds into the EU?
Lower gas prices should make the sugar cane company not as profitable as it was.
Unless Obama is going to get rid of sugar tariffs? I thoungth they made chemical fertilizers and pesticides to but there was no mention of it on their google financial page.
Are they that hiding information or did they sell that company?
The music is really great! American soul/jazz of the 60’s I think.
Something happening here re:cigarette prices. Post settlement, former/retired tobacco co employees bought unused equipment from troubled majors and started small mfg operations that seemingly aren’t subject to all the penalties and overhead.
They are making good private label cigarettes and selling them for $1.50 a pack. Seems the distributors don’t like the competition, but they’re around kinda under the counter and at mom and pop places. Keeping a very low profile. Doubt it will last.
i’m clouded in and cant see it :( but it sure is bright outside for a sky fulla clouds
Where is this, if you don’t mind my asking?
well, this story is all over the Internet but I like this AOL article because it tells the Native American names of all 13 full moons we will have this year (maybe the other articles do too, I haven’t checked)
http://www.thecommitments.net/
Here is a version of the stars singing the music now — not quite the same but at least they have the same tunes.
You can hear the original movie soundtrack on YouTube. Those folks were really amazing. I have the original soundtrack on CD, very good.
correction…Obama stimulus is 1/3 of what is needed to drive GNP back up to full employment.

I loves me some pups!
Beautiful golden red sunset here, fast dusk with Jupiter or Venus high above the Bay…then Moon rise from the eastern horizon very big with a very thin long cloud through the bottom third…was exquisite.
Very warm and sunny all day.
Hit the Bay about 11AM for an excellent row doing race workouts of 2000 meters x 4. Sprint the first 50 and the last. (interval training to get the aerobic and anerobic sarcomeres recruited) also anastomizes the capilaries for better oxygen uptake and lactic acid flushing. Just awesome after a day of rest. My muscle mass is a little small for competition…more wieght workouts prescribed by Dr. BB
How often does Google finance have a glitch? I think I found a big one KRY went up to $29 a share from below a dollar on no news.
Nobody’s market is open now I think and I double checked Hugo Chavez is still in power and there is no new news on KRY.
I have never seen google make a mistake like this maybe Bush is trying an other coup on Hugo and GOP insiders are buying?
I admit its much more likely Google made a huge mistake though.

I miss los osos so much. It was the most beautiful place I have ever lived. The light is amazing. I used to walk on the beach right before Montana de Oro everyday. What is the name of it? The one where the surfers go.
Thanks Margot, a truly great tune!
I do love me some soul!
I actually did some dancing by myself!
Way to hang tough Mary. Now get them to save your mortgage as long as you are on a roll. E-mail Barney Franks and ask for a bailout or restructuring. The plan was to extend to 40 years lower the cap and percentage so you can stay in your house. (squeky wheel gets the grease)
Sounds truly soul bracing!
I can squeakkkkk…..
Sophie watched the Milky Way..cute but too much milk for me and the kittens. Funny though I lived on a dairy and the workers would squirt the kittens right from thr cows..it seemed hilarious but those were hungry critters.
You put the a in my squeak…oops

Very cool mary, what does your business do, as opposed to what does your garden grow?
website design and illustration.
my husband does 3d product illustration.
good news! I’m so pleased to hear that you’re getting the money owed you, Mary. And wonderful that you are starting your own business.
Very cool to know, since I am starting my own catering business very soon and will maybe need a website design. Maybe we can “talk”….
Love this, thanks Margot and Sophie.
On the other hand if its not a google glitch then the FireDogLake might have a scoop on either a coup attempt on Hugo Chavez or some possible insider trading.
If so I’m counting this as my first scoop on the MSM.
However I have been right about stuff before the MSM (which is not that hard lots of times).
There is nothing like the original baby!
State parks wants to put a kiosk on the entrance and charge fees to get in. Bummer for surfers and hikers from Los Osos
What type(s) of cuisine are you offering?
assholes. As I remember it is rather hard to get to the beach. My dog rolled in a dead seal on that beach. yukie.
It was very dreamy and creative…after all the milky way has to have a lot of milk to be named the milky way. Going by the shooting star batteries was pretty funny.
I cook American Regional, French, Italian, Spanish, Mexican, Asian – (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Southeast Asian), Greek, etc, etc.
Are you going to make deserts with mucho butter and chocolate and icing and all lowcal?
It was nice to see Katymine on the FDL today…I guess her meds are tolerable.
as far as i am concerned, other peoples cooking has zero calories and zero fat grams. especially desserts
I am off to beddie bye. Good night all.
It made me interested in Astropysics and Cosmology, as well as just the Milky Way as art and fantasy…

This site needs to be updated its a video game where you can try and solve the budget crisis the information is prefinancial collapse and seems to include Obama’s and McCain’s ideas.
I cut military spending 10% if I could I would have cut more I cut NASA entirely cause they would not let me cut military spending, axed the Bush tax cuts and gave everyone healthcare and green energy well the max they let me spend.
Still I would like the benefits of Healthcare and green energy to be factored in when the long term budget is forecast at the end of the game.
These assumptions are not factored in currently.

Peace and sweet dreams mary. Let me know your business e-mail because I am serious about a business website for my personal chef/catering business, if that is something you do in your business. thanks so much…
YEAH! So glad.
Margot I so want to thank you for hooking me up with my favorite cartoon of the kittens and the milky way. Seriously a childhood favorite.
Don’t know but I would keep NASA and cut the army Bullet proof vest much better armored troop transport is what we need that and whatever Eric Shinseki
says that we need to win a war and police afterward a country afterwords.
Star Wars and next generation weapons the ability to fight to magor conflicts around the world don’t mean squat if we can’t even bring peace and order to Iraq.
And if we can’t do that we should not be so eager to fight such wars.
Bill however did do ok in Yugoslavia I think having a plan matters if you invade.
We need generals willing to tell the President no bad plan I quit without that we lose wars.
When are we going to get edit back?
Problem with the pudding mixture related to cornstarch. Recipe called for cooking it in milk over medium heat till thickened, then letting it boil for one minute before adding 8 whisked egg yolks (tempered w/ part of the pud) and cooking for 2 more mins. May have allowed it to get too thick initially – then was afraid not to boil for fear of raw cornstarch taste.
After baking, the meringue was perfect. Butter and vanilla added at end helped a bit with small lumps (arose while adding eggs). 1/3 c cornstarch seemed excessive for 3c milk and 8 yolks. Came away thinking plain boiled custard would have worked better. Whole thing tasted just ok.
Since I don’t think I’d take this on again, no real point in worrying what went wrong. But -as always- you’re so very kind to be interested.
its on the bells and whistles list
i sure hope the tech crew gets to work on that b/w list soon
yipeee!
b/w list? What else is on the bells and whistles list Edit is the only thing I can think of to improve the Lake?

I don’t like that at that Obama suggested cutting entitlements a few days ago. Which entitlements Social Security, medicare what but no mention of cutting military spending.
Oh, that thingy that has cherry pie instantly delivered thru the toobz when pressed.
Oh I like that too
My pleasure. I just googled cartoon of kittens who lost their mittens going to Milky Way, and there twas.
its on order along with the automatic beverage dispenser

Just finished watching The Other Bolyn Girl with Ms. ET. We’re both Scarlett Johansson fans, but that movie sucked.
Anytime you may get lumps in a custard or pudding, which can happen to anyone, all you need to do is put the mixture through a sieve it will always take away any little lumps from eggs getting overcooked in your sauce or custard. This works for any sauce, custard, or soup that should be a very smooth texture.

I’m so sorry to hear this because I was looking forward to watching this movie.
I want a thingie that lets us hear each other laugh.
We were looking forward to it too. Nice costumes.
i refuse to even discuss those two way monitors like the jetsens had.
Every time I think I’ve seen a period piece, I think of Barry Lyndon and Amadeus and that re-references me.
no two-way monitors. no no no!
A seive is a strainer.
Lurk, lurk…oooh, doggies in their undies!
I do love costume movies because I sew and almost became a fashion designer in my youth….
I loved Amadeus, what a great movie…
Seriously you made me laugh out loud with this!
Try “The Madness of King George” . Gorgeous costumes.
Good one, fine film, too.
yes, but I’m here tonight because I couldn’t sleep, and now I may never be able to close my eyes again…
i love a good costume piece – when its so forking good that ya hardly notice how cool the outfits were until going over the movie afterwards. and its gotta have great orchestration. amedeus was great as was les mis
I want that too.
I designed and sewed the costumes for the Shakespere plays at my high school and college. Great fun for a sewing geek!
& to sophiehunter,
I haven’t watched Barry Lyndon in years, keep on hoping to. Getting costumes right is a real trick. Atmosphere doesn’t necessarily have to be appropriate to a time period to work.
A movie that worked extraordinarily well but had the atmosphere misplaced time-wise, was “The Sting.” They played Joplin rags from the 1890s to about 1908, to illustrate a movie about the late 1920s. But it worked extremely well, and led to a 15-year-long Joplin and ragtime revival, when that music was languishing.
Sophie, I do art quilting, but I’ve always wanted to learn to sew cool clothing, but I’m entirely self taught. maybe you can tell me, where does one find classes on really good sewing?
Yum nite to all… me I am having a visit with the sand man.
okay, think of a documentary, topic “grout”. You should be able to fall asleep with this fascinating subject.
g’nite bb
i quilt. haven’t done much in many years. started a quilt for the bride’s wedding – its in my pod waiting to be finished.
The Sting was and is a great movie. A treat to watch.
Nite BB.
My secret vice- I like Project Runway. But they make me nuts focusing on all that interpersonal crap! Show me the SEWING!!
my name is suzanne and i watch hgtv and recently started in watching the food network.
i try to watch a lotta pbs to balance it out.
Thank you. I generally do ok w/custard and such. Cornstarch has me stumped, but I’ve no experience with it other than in small amounts.
Quilting’s great. I haven’t done many bed quilts, too bulky, too time consuming, too impatient to get on to the next one! But I’m working on one just now for my son who’s graduating HS and moving off to college next fall. I did one for his sister last year, so I was stuck when he wanted one too. I prefer wall quilts, more scope for weirdness!
LOL! Ya need 12 steps, Suzanne?
You know, I taught myself to sew clothing, except for Home Economics in Junior High School. I then just asked friends grandmothers (who were the only people who still knew how to sew when I was a kid). I believe in following directions. I find they work really well. Now this doesn’t work if you don’t know the lingo. If you need help with that, find older ladies or I can be reached at sophiehunter at hotmail dot net
i did a lotta wall hangings and lap quilts. thought nothing of making a baby quilt over a weekend for a baby shower for friend or coworker.
of course, that was all back before i blew out my back. now i gotta take more breaks or else i am very aware of my back.
thanks for fixing that and preventing sophie from being spambotted lurk
I can follow basic patterns, but I always wanted to learn how to add some pizazz. Thanks Sophie.
lurk, lurk indeed. Just think of the poor mods.
You are welcome, Suzanne.
a lotta fabric stores or sewing machine shops offer sewing lessons
Yeah, I’ve noticed lately that it’s getting harder to do the bead embellishing- I can’t see the little buggers!
unlocking cabinet with dark chocolate and pecan brownies inside
Mods in their undies??? Now I’ll never sleep!
Thermals, pups. Thermals.
The ones without trapdoors.
i did a wall hanging for my former guild’s ugly quilt contest. made 9 tshirts outta the ugly fabric and framed each one with black and white polka dot strips in a 9 patch configuration. the hardest part was stringing all the beads for the necklaces hanging around the neck of each tshirt- forkers are small and my eyes were a lot younger back then.
it was called 9t’s retro
OK, now I can sleep.
Cornstarch is a great thickener for custards, puddings, or sauces. It needs to be added as a slurry, that is mixed with water or another liquid first, than added slowly to a cool or warm mixture and then brought up to temperature or higher heat slowly so that it doesn’t create lumps. It then needs to come to a slow boil for it to achieve its optimal thickening ability. It is a great thickner. I use it for sauces all of the time. Usually, 1 tablespoon dissolved in 1 tablespoon of cold water and then added slowly while whisking to a warm sauce that is eventually brought up to a slow boil while constantly whisking so as not to form lumps. This is typical for a gravy, if you are making a custard or other sauce, the ratios of cornstarch slurry to liquid may be different. However, if lumps do occur, just put the sauce through a strainer.
Ugly quilt contest?? Ain’t no such animal as a ugly quilt!
Yeah, you would be more alarmed by the Ron & Nancy Reagan clown-shoe slippers.
Well, pups, I’m off. And I’m also going to bed! ‘Nite!
OK, YOU win!
twas really an ugly fabric contest. rules were we had to use at least 1/4 of the fabric. on the front of the wall hanging. fabric was so bright they handed it out in brown paper bags. i toned it down by using a black fabric behind the fussy cut tshirts.
Um…
g’nite connniptionfit
Becomming good at anything, like cooking, sewing, woodworking, or anything is mostly about following GOOD directions, using really good ingredients/products, and asking for help when you need it.
Thanks sophiehunter, that’s very helpful.
Looking forward to your website.
I’m going to say good night. With visions of amazing things dancing through my head. You pups are something special!
Peace and sweet dreams Sunny…
g’nite sunny
I guess I unfortunately totally missed the lurking mods help in my totally inept responses to several questions. I apologize most sincerely for my total lack of understanding of appropriate responses. Please let me know what I have done wrong so I don’t repeat such inncorrect responses in the future. Thank you in advance for your help.
if ya use the word at instead of the @ sign, it prevents the spambots from scoopng up your email addy. there are bots that search blogs for email addys to add to their lists to spam.
lurk replaced it for ya
and it was nothing ya did that was wrong, was just a courtesy that we can do late at nite when the pace at the lake is slower.
Thank you as always Suzanne for your help in my total ineptitude.
And the lurking mod as well, thank you, I will learn to do things more appropriately in the future.
we were all newbies at one point here at the lake. takes a while to learn all the quirks.
i’m still always learning something new in the comments – every nite the lake adds to my education.
Suzanne this is why you are always the best.

Sadly, I still don’t know how to embed a link or any html at all. Hopefully, I will learn these things the more I hang out here.

My Bold Everything I have heard suggests nuclear bunker buster bombs would be necessary and or a ground invasion that might explain the Google finance showing gold prices going up.

Its not only KRY its everyone’s gold stock going up Google Finance has a glitch or someone with advance word is buying everything with Bank 30 or more to 1 leverage in a hurry only a group of hedge funds could pull this off.
I’m still betting its a glitch. But still I felt I had to pass this on.
Ok poof again
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo, Friedman, Kristof and Rich today. MoDo gives us “An Extremist Makeover?” in which she says the fact that Dick Cheney is now putting the blame for all the messes squarely on W. shows once more how the bureaucratic master outmaneuvers his younger partner. The Moustache of Wisdom, in “Tax Cuts for Teachers,” says there’s simply no shortcut for a stimulus that stimulates minds, not just salaries. Mr. Kristof writes about “Striking the Brothels’ Bottom Line,” and says the brothel business model is more vulnerable than it looks. There are ways we can make enslaving girls more risky and less profitable to push traffickers to quit. Mr. Rich, in “Eight Years of Madoffs,” says while our new president indeed must move on and address the urgent crises that cannot wait, Bush administration malfeasance can’t be merely forgotten or finessed.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and there are chocolate croissants I picked up at the bakery while doing errands yesterday. I’ve got to dash and let Hoover out — he’s being particularly annoying and insistent this morning, and if he pushes one more thing off my desk onto the floor… Have a great day — we’re down into single digits today. Only 9 days to go.
Need. More. Caffeine. Actually, here they are for real.
