Harry Reid needs to be flushed out of the Senate leadership and down the toilet of history before he embarrasses himself even more, or destroys O’s agenda.

He has shown himself to be totally incompetent at standing up to Republicans, and only seems to find his spine when he is opposing fellow Dems…

Maybe we should start a petition (I’m sure it’s already happening) to send to other Dem leaders to demand his outster as the Slumbering Symbol of Dem leadership in the Senate!

The fact that a schlub like Reid could become Senate majority leader reminds me of the Rolling Stone article, “Make-Believe Maverick,” in which author Tim Dickinson describes John McCain and George W. Bush of having “failed upward.” The same can be said of Harry.

Harry has had his moments, and we should give him credit for them. I think he’s aging fast, and that’s the problem. He’s in a high-stress job, and let’s face it, conflict isn’t a stress-reliever. The guy running the show should be somebody like Schumer, who thrives on it.

Good point, I would surely be incarcerated by now for some sort of inappropriate behavior toward some Republican. Who could resist after listening to McConnell, Sessions, Chambliss, etc. Well, lets just agree that it would it be difficult, if not impossible, to find a collection of assholes of such extraordinary magnitude gathered in any one place at the same time. The cosmic imbalance thus created in the universe is likely generated by such a dense concentration of mental hemorrhoidery must explain the bizarre behavior of all the Democratic Senators. I knew there was a reason they continually do strange things, such as condemn their most vociferous supporters!

I did not like McCain for a number or reasons (evidence) – then I read that article and was like wow… he was about 20x worse than I had thought.

In particular when he met his hardworking war mate and asked him why the hell he was going to the middle east (because its going to be important) and told him back that he was going to Tiujawan to explitive/bang women (oh, he was married with 2 or 3 kids at the time) – and that was just a drop in the bucket.

Even more suprising that given that he is the Dem SML…

Harry Reid becoming majority leader reminds me of an article I read about the weakness of our present election system: if two strong contenders battle each other to win an elected position, they can end up destroying each other, and allow a weak third party to win.

My guess is nobody thought Harry Reid was worthy of attacking since they never thought he would ever win leadership. So he was the only one left standing.

Thank you for this! Harry Reid is rotten to the core. Harry needs to go away- fast. Harry is about to ram through an Omnibus Public Lands Bill that has all kind of buried goodies. Full of quid pro quo wilderness “compromises”. Illustrious Larry Craig as a parting present to rapers of the earth – even gets 3 million dollars of taxpayer funds to study more dams on rivers. This Omnibus Bill means that really bad things get through on the coattails of supposedly “good” things. I kinda wonder if part of Reid’s opposition to Burris had to with theater to appeal to the southern and OK and other Repubs. – one previously had threatened to block this Bill. Parts are opposed by both the ultra-property rights Right and some progressive enviros.

And I hope he takes Pelosi with him when he goes. Two sad examples of “leading” by enabling bush, inc. The sooner they are gone, the better.
