Today’s Washington Post front page (now corrected):
"With the GOP majority in the Senate, Obama’s agenda may rest on his ability to deliver on pledge to change the way Washington does business."
(click through for full screen shot)
Meanwhile over at Politico the headline reads:
Coleman may lose office until election is decided
Really? That long?
I guess 9/11 changed everything, but November 4? Not so much.

So much for proofreading mistake like that are pretty common these days
Coleman’ a sore loser !
He’ll need to be dragged, kicking and screaming from that office!
They now say “With the Senate GOP possessing sway”. When you think about it, with the Rethugs having at least 41 votes and their willingness to destroy the country to get what they want, you might as well say they have a majority. Nothing will get passed unless Reid grows a pair. Odds on that are about 3 trillion to one against.
Nominally, the r’s are the ‘Minority’, but, in the ‘hearts and minds of the ‘other’ party, are we so certain that the ‘mindset’ of most in the Senate is not, essentially, “mainstream” GOP?/’g’
Just a curmudgeonly question, 3 days into the new, improved, updated …
Happy New Year!
Their delusions may really be a serious psychological disorder. They should be taken off the street.

Thanks, Jane. I needed that! :)
I think too many pundits and advisors believe that’s true. The people who put out the propaganda know it is propaganda. Yet, they come to believe it themselves. There’s a rule about that (or something like it). Liars being warned not to start believing their own lies, or somesuch…
Funny stuff, but this also exposes the dramatic gooper flavor of the traditional press. I doubt most people realize how metastasized the RNC is in all media outlets.
so flipping true…………………….oy
Is the WaPo letting little Debbie do their fact checking since she’s not otherwise busy?
Well, I have to go. Haven’t slept in a loooong time. Wish I could hang out longer. Enjoying the company.
Peace!
Hi. :) BBL
Yeech!! A parting lick from Ben Fell
atioer of AP.Definitely not advised for anyone who just finished lunch unless you want to see it again…
Yeah, I saw that Politico piece at Yahoo last night. Un-freakin’-believable.
Uh, Earth to Politico folks: Norm’s term ends today, Saturday 3/3/09. Which means he is no longer the Senator from MN. So yeah, he loses office until the election is decided. And probably beyond.
As far as the “Mainstream” media is concerned the Republicans are STILL in charge of everything. They may have los tthe white house, the hous of representatives and the senate, but they’ve got Caribou Barbie. And the “Mainstream’s” fascination with her shows no signs of letting up. We’re all supposed to be dazzled by her, and they won’t hear of anything else.
Bush Feller-ating at its most repulsive.

JHFC, what a crock of shit.
I hope someone has already thrown all his stuff out on the sidewalk

I couldn’t resist. Here is the email I just sent to bfeller@ap.org, under the subject line of Just Stop:
Anyone care to join me in making Mr. Feller’s day just a bit less comfortable?
Just so it doesn’t get overlooked (and it should have been spread far and wide before now), Poppy Bush good old George the First, received money for his initial oil ventures from three sources. The first was Uncle Herbie, his namesake, George Herbert Walker, Jr, who contributed $350,000. The second was Eugene Meyer, Yale grad and owner of the Washington Post, who gave $100,000, and last was good old regular American, Prescott Bush, who contributed $50,000, although no one was supposed to know that daddy helped the self made man (Kelley, The Family, p.128; Baker, Family of Secrets, p.33).
The media needs to be, in JFK’s terms, broken into a thousand pieces. You wanna create entrepreneurs? Do away with media consolidation and allow real public access to the airwaves.
The media will never tell inconvenient truths about the Bushes and just wait until George Prescott Bush, Jebbie’s boy, is ready to run.
Jane, the headline was correct if you include DINOs.
Of course, JFK was talking about splintering the CIA which is as good an idea today as it was then, probably better.
I trust David Gregory. To cover up, attack, and generally behave as much like a Republican as he can get away with on TV.
Good Grief. There must be a manual somewhere that specifies the must-have’s and must-not-have’s for a top leadership position, and Bush’s traits I would bet fall into the latter column. I certainly can’t think of a prosperous country or a successful corporation led by a person with that profile. Remind me again how Bush did in business? Oh. Right. Sorry I asked.
Well, if the GOP pundits want to spread the rumor that the GOP is in control of the Senate, then I guess we can blame the republicans when our country continues to fail. Hell, even in the minority (which they are), we still can blame them since they’re the ones who block everything the Democrats try to do anyways! See? It’s a win-win for us.
When we are talking about delusional hateful despicable rethugs the top name on the list has to be Ann Coulter who has now attacked Michelle Obama. This bitch needs to be locked up

That’ll be the day. Deep media reform would be the single most important change any administration could bring about. Without it, any other changes will be essentially window dressing.
Once again, the dweebs at the WaPo (part timers and temps AT BEST), still drinking away on that last batch of Chipmy’s KoolAide and trying to re-live the ‘good ole days’ – NOT!
Seems these bottom feeders forgot a couple of things.. O can still issue ‘executive orders’ if what’s left of the GOP can’t get past the directives of Pastor Hague and, as seems to be the case with all these revisionists, O can still use Chimpy’s favorite tool the “signing statement”…tee..hee…
Basically saying to McConnell and his band of Klan Members…blow it out your pie hole..
Blue America a couple of flights upstairs with Phil Munger
I really hope the WaPo follows their ombudsman’s (Deborah Howell’s) advice, and transitions even further to the right. It would be very good for business. /s
The sooner they go out of business, the better. It would open up room for competent newspapers to fill the vacuum.
As for Politico, all I can think of is Mark Halperin – Hugh Hewitt’s official jock strap sniffer.
Harry Reid will destroy any chances Obama has for turning the economy around and steering the country on a new course. Little will change for the ruling elites, including Harry Reid, but for the middle and working class. get ready for the deluge.
The stimulus package and the new improved health care initiative will be nothing more than window dressing as well. As long as Republicans control the media and the filibuster things will stay pretty much the same. Our grandchildren will be tomorrow’s revolutionaries.
