Here’s what I found in the news this morning:
- Farewell to All That: An Oral History of the Bush White House.
- Iraqi shoe thrower Muntazer al-Zaidi’s trial has been delayed pending an appeal over whether the tossing of footwear amounted to an assault.
- Pakistan cut off US/NATO supply route through the Khyber Pass due to an "operation against militants and armed groups in Jamrud."
- Evangelicals don’t like the Green Bible.
- The Treasury gives $5 billion to GMAC and $1 billion to GM.
- Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston pops out of Bristol and makes Sarah a grandma. More over at La Figa.
- Israel rejects appeals for a truce as they continue attacks and the death toll rises.

Mornin’, twolf
Oral History of the Shrub White House. 30 seconds of bullshit.
Interesting read about the People story on baby Tripp. First report has the baby born Sunday weighing 7.4.
Updated later to read born Saturday weighing 7.7.
And per posters on Mudflats there is no hospital in Palmer although MATSU does list a PO there.
I’m not making anything of this……………….just weird like all things palinesque.
If the name on the birth certificate is Tripp … Johnston when were Bristol and Levi married?

Pakistan on Tuesday cut off supplies to NATO and US forces in Afghanistan via the Khyber Pass as security forces launched a major operation against militants there, officials said.
The offensive comes after a series of spectacular raids by suspected Taliban militants on foreign military supply depots in northwest Pakistan earlier this month in which hundreds of NATO and US-led coalition vehicles were destroyed.

My bold Hundreds of vehicles destroyed? Isn’t that pass our only supply route unless we airlift everything.
Airlifting all the supplies would be expensive heck the war could be over real soon if we are forced to do that.
from the Treasury story, does this mean the government bought out the preferred shares owned by investors and, if so, was the price fair?
Berlin Airlift Redux.
Prolly more than fair to the investors, the taxpayers who bought them out got screwed. Business as usual at the Dept of
Goldman Sachs, er, Treasury. Will the Governor spring the mother in law for the wedding? Will she grant her a Pardon? Hour one of the Sarah Palin Pardon watch begins:)
If the name on the birth certificate is Johnson there already has been a wedding.

The berlin airlift was not primarily for the delivery of guns and ammunition with which to slaughter people as we are doing in the ME
Julia, if yer out there lurking, your phrase yesterday morning, “Google. It’s whats for breakfast.” was a hoot. Thanks.
True but the distance between Germany and Berlin is I’m guessing a lot closer than the distance between Afghanistan and the nearest friendly airport.
Can we resupply the troops by air alone and for how long? Pakistan has to worry about India right now thanks to that terror attack and now they hope they can stop al Quieda in their country from attacking our supply trucks?
Pakistan has never shown the ability or courage to do this before, not to knock them I always assumed that they were behind al Quieda.
I think the parents can name the child with either surname, regardless of marital status.
I thought you could put any name on a birth certificate ?
According to People magazine, the couple will marry in 2009. An unwed mother can give a child any last name she wants, I suppose. With certainty, she can give the child the father’s surname even if she is not married to the kick-ass hellraiser.
That said, Bristol could have given the child the name, Palin. Maybe she did. Who knows?
Also, too, also there is a generous window of time (several weeks) wherein, the name of a newborn child can be changed very easily with a simple name change form. (My sister did this.)
Mornin’ folks!
My guess is that it’s possible but not for very long. It would take transports of every size probably 24/7 just to meet basic resupply requirements. The alternative is taking and controlling the land route, which I think would be next to impossible. The geography of the Khyber Pass hasn’t changed since the 1840s when local tribes wiped out the British Army fleeing Kabul through the pass.
Thanks all for the clarifications.

I was wondering if naming the kid “Tripp” was paying tribute to Linda Tripp?
I was wondering that yesterday. Quite the role model.
Sarah’s son in law is studying to be an electrician right but he dropped out of high school. Don’t you need a GED at least to get in a Union Electrician Program?
Did he even take electronics classes in high school? Are those classes even offered at that high school?
Great Bush leaves Obama another mess to clean up:(
I thought that might be the case I was hoping I was wrong.
Whatshizface will prolly be the 2010 Joe the Plumber for the Rethugs.
Maybe Joe the plumber is his role model

Ah a pretend electrician without a license. The guy Cheapos call to get their home up to code right before a mysterious electrical fire.
I wonder if anyone will admit to reading Joe the Plumber’s book in public who wasn’t on the McCain campaign?
I’m looking forward to his appearance on BookTV.
maybe even the godfather, Sarah did seem kinda fond of him
Indeed the distance between Berlin and Germany is…..nil, zero, zilch, zippo, nada
Does Bristol own a blue dress?
I always thought Linda was more than a tad jealous that it wasn’t her on her knees.
No wedding unless the Governor Springs her daughter’s Mother in Law!
At first glance I thought you were counting down to the Orange Bowl, but I figured out that 500 hours is about 20 days. So you must be counting down to Rich Warren’s Inaugural invocation.
IMO, The media should not be glamorizing teen pregnancy. Raising a child in today’s world is difficult. Journalists and reporters should be doing a series on the difficulties teen mothers face. (yeah, right)
Brain Bleach Stat! But that does explain allot.
Where is Linda now? I bet after seeing the destruction that Bush caused, she is just so proud of herself.
They have to give equal time to covering “abstinence only” education. They have to be fair and balanced.
531 hrs and 9 min till we can say former president Bush
I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama hires her to work in his White House. In a show of post partisanship, don’t you know. See Warren, Rick.
IIRC after her cosmetic surgery she married some rich guy. Before the cosmetic surgery she couldn’t get laid in a men’s prison with a pocket full of pardons.
Woo hoo!!!
How many hours ’til we can say “inmate GW Bush”
We can say criminal in chief now = inmate is anyones guess
531 hrs & 1 min
Nope…that information is pretty flexible…
Wingnut welfare extends to marriage?
I thought that benefit was only for gay republicans.

Christy’s up!
Mornin’, RevBev
I’m stickin’ around a bit this mornin’. Got to take Gigi to the vet and no sense in going to work then turning right around and coming home again. Her left eye has rotated up and to the left. Looks really weird and obviously affects her vision but I’m told it will right itself eventually. Just want the vet to confirm that. She’s 14 and I’m not taking any chances.
Something we all seem to know….how cheesy is the news…big stories = Palin, a grandmother, news? Big deal? Depressed woman jumps ship: major interview, really important? CBS fool brags about having a Palin calendar in his office: does he think we really need to know? Maybe it is all enough to send one back to bed!!!
You mean the logger heads?
530 hrs & 56 min
Morning SD: good luck at the vet. Yep, that is a pretty old age, isn’t it? Good to see you today ;)
Hell, her house went into foreclosure after she left (read, got canned) from her govt job. Some Rethug paid it off for her.
Average lifespan for an indoor feline is about 15 years. My little Missy was 22 1/2 when she passed naturally.
Can we stop the planet and throw Bush off; along with his Israeli buddies? We might be about to see the first blow back to the plan of conquering Gaza.
Iranian hard line clerics are calling for volunteers to fight in Gaza. The Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a decree to Muslims around the world on Sunday, ordering them to defend Palestinians in Gaza against Israeli attacks “in any way possible”.

My last one was about 18, I think; still mourning her death. Most beautiful cat I had even seen. The sadness truly convinced me not to go there again; I admire at a distance.
Our nicest kitty of all time died about three years ago. We recently (June) found two orange kittens in a shelter just begging for a good home so they now romp in our house. Surprisingly we got through (so far) the decorated tree thing without too much trauma.
Hang in there Rev a kitten will probably do a number on your heart and you will be kitten smitten.
When I lost Tiye at 15 in 1990 I couldn’t stand not having a tiger in the house to greet me each morning. I got Min about a week later, on Xmas Eve. I lost her in June, age 19.
I’ve never gotten over the loss of any of them. I just have to live with it.
Off to the vet.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
And also to you and Nomolos….have a good one.
