Hi ES……. stand up to cancer…… been working on that
ES and all — hope everyone is well.
Good evening, neurophius.
You sure have! This song is for you, ((((katymine))))
Eureka!
Are you back home? CE it’s over 70 right now… I have all my windows open and we are under a tornado watch.
It will be back in the low twenties tomorrow night.
Maybe we should call it bizzaro global warming.
Hope you all noticed the note at the top of the page. We (FDL) will be going down tonight for adjustments of some sort.
So don’t bang on your computers with blunt objects or anything.
tech crew said nothing should happen until some time after midnight fdl time at the earliest – and that we will be down for about an hour or so
it should be noted that tech crew was not cursing – always a good sign :)
Thanks.. We should send them some pie…)
Jonesing already.
Thats ok…..already took my Ambien….. damn Interluken side effect is really poor sleep when detoxing the drug……. vivid dreams….. toss & turn all night….
Getting more strength…… walked up the stairs to change the thermostat and was only minimally short of breath……. I’m either hot or cold and of course in this two story house the thermostat is upstairs…….
Hey! I’m still in PA in our hotel. Last night, and tomorrow headed to PA in-laws again in Schwenksville. We will stop to say goodbye to little brother before he heads to Canada, and will journey back to Cleveland on Sunday. Temps here 55 degrees, and even Cleveland is in the 40’s. Time for head colds.
what kinda pie?
Get ‘em to fix you a sammich too, yo
;>)
good to hear you are doing better katymine – slow and steady and before ya know it, you are back up to speed again
Hope they are giving us back our old tools like *show text* we miss it! Make following a thread so much easier..
katymine,
wishing you warmth and a good night’s sleep — thinking of you.
Not sharing my half of pumpkin pie…… just too good too share…..
I miss the old style… with text always showing. At least up to three quotes, then automatically cut off.
Suz, How about mincemeat pie? It a sign of confidence. /s
The drugs are kicking in……. wishing you all a very nice evening……Thanks ES for the song……. always love your songs…..
Enjoying my two month break between treatments……..Nite everyone….
Good night, katymine.
g’nite katymine
nahant, got any pumpkin?
I’d kill for the old new replies thingie that didn’t seem to require reloading everything… Betcha that day is long gone.
Nite katymine. If you’ve gotta have vivid dreams, hoping they’re extremely
pleasant.
that’s the one i want back
Hi ES, Suz, ((Katymine)) and everyone.
For that I’d bake tons of goodies for back stage. Fresh toasted GA pecans and dark Belgian chocolate.
Good evening Margot.
*shakes off sleepy countenance*
Did someone speak?
*tons*
amazing how lurk perks up when certain words are mentioned…
Does this feel like Saturday to anyone else? I spent the day thinking there was football tomorrow.
pie… ??
the entire holiday week has my internal calendar messed up – i kept thinking today was wednesday
I thought it was Monday.
pie.
duh! real whipped cream please
no pie till the 3rd when the crew comes for our family Christmas get together… And it will be apple Pie thank you…
I like any kind of pie. Finishing off a pumpkin pie right….. now.
*deep sigh*
my christmas was without pie
Mine, too.
Peach would have been optimum.
peach pie with homemade vanilla ice cream equals summer to me
Oh no… no pie. That’s just not right.
The ice cream, sometimes. But there was a small restaurant in Berkeley, down the street from Chez Panisse, that served a superb peach pie, and on top – a mixture of rhubarb and cherries. Very small spoonful, but it lit up the slice. I can’t remember the name of the place, and it was replaced by a Italian restaurant, but I would give a lot to have that replicated.
My computer tells me it IS saturday
I had a piece of pecan pie earlier.
g’nite everyone!
Doods and Doodesses good evening, We look for a week od sun here on the central coast of CA…freezing tonight so covered all the plants. Squach still coming in.
Did 20 minutes instead of 15 minutes on the treadmill just now…saw a runner in the hood spinning out 6 minute miles and decided to get back into running shape with some jogging. Cross training 3 miles of rowing for a split workout. Add a little weight training to keep muscle mass and strength with all the aerobic exercise. Finish the night with 1200 crunches.
Life will get better with higher level of fitness. No illness or colds.
Stay fit dawgs.
No pie here. But I’m still drinking rum cake – yowser!
No wonder your computer says it’s Saturday.
Oh, and the whole time zone thing.
g’nite teddy
Most interesting afternoon as I sat on the patio of our coffee shop on the bay sucking my Itaslian is cone after the daily row across the bay.
I hear a Harley coming into the parking lot, a hammer head it turns out, pulls righ up to the front door and dismounts from this 30 year old bike a biege color. The guy looks like the grateful dead with grey beard down to his chest.
He then after a time, proceeds to inform me, the other person on the patio section, of his bike shop winning races of varying length. A San berdino biker. Said he had 1,000 people show at his open house. And so on. Then his friend showed and they went on the aftrnoon putt. He was very pleased with himself. It was an amusing distraction while enjoying the warm afternoon sun. An older wnglish gentlemen with a Dachhound came and had breakfast and spoke of single cylinder motor cycles.
Tonight is Latin night on NPR..alltogether a very excellent day and evening.
I love Suin blogs about where the middle east is headed which is where I spent my morning. getting lost in the Tango phases wafting through the air.
Took a large piece of clear plastic folded into 4 layers and covered the drafty bedroom window which has no view anyway. Coldest room will be a bit warmer. Still have made it through without any heat. Very happy about all this. Ramping up metabolism instead of global warming. The evening jog is so releaxing all getting loose. Endorphins galore.
Wish all nieghbors were as kind as Ingrid’s. Done the floating thing before…it is very nice. Poor Suzanne no sunshine in the forecast.
ES you got a Tornado warning my cuz South of Denver getting a Blizzard with gusts of 80 MPH.
Rachel on Warren give BO a warning…”This ain’t going away.” She is such a perky person…soo funny.
It’s very windy warm and balmy.. the little TV screen warning map shows tornado watch and flood watch or warnings all over MO and the northern third of AR.
i had a wee bit of sun yesterday bb – even took some photos of it
The biker had put 325,000 mioes on tyhat bike, blown it up 5 times..it was the love of his life. really into it…
ES, it’s balmy here too, after a freezing-balmy-freezing 3 days. I’m seeing plants start to green up again, like last year we had dandelions in December.
I am happy to hear that…now I don’t have to send you pictures to remind you of what it feels like to bask in the warmth of the afternoon sun… G
I miss riding a motorcycle.
Where are you, Indiana?
warmer now then it was in daytime. we have a warm moist southern air flow and the weather guys are worried about urban flood from all the snowmelt melting fast instead of the predicted slow melt.
I am a born again pagan. my christian cousins sent me the yearly report of all their travels and fun with warm wishes and prayers. Anohter cousin offered to put me up for eternity in a family graveyard somewhere in the South. it’s all good.
Just got to stop the killin and torture….
Hi, Pups
Yes, the weather guys aren’t the only ones worried about flooding from snowmelt!
We’re supposed to see 40 degrees tomorrow! Yay!!!
First time in at least 2 weeks. The slush-ruts and snow-moguls have been a trip to drive through. Hate to see what shape my suspension will be in when this is all over.
I’ve only gotten stuck once, though. Yesterday on the way to Xmas dinner. But it was daylight and it only took about 5min to dig myself out–with my dustpan!
FunnyD
CaliGirl meets Snow-megeddon 2008

Hey, Suz & Sunny -
Y’all still up and about?
The previously non-functioning “show text” notation is now gone.
Hi Waccamaw. Still up. No excuse a’tall.
Text begone: Is that adding insult to injury or injury to insult? ;-)
Gotta a week ’til I move house from one end of the state to the other for two months…..lots to get done in closing up shop one place and trying to figure out what all needs to be hauled along. Snails with shells have it easy. :-(
Dunno. Hoping for wonders yet to be revealed.
Show text is back, but not working here.
Missing from earlier notes where it appeared.
Please let me know when you’re moving west. My screen name – without caps, separated with an underscore at yahoo.
Not if your name is escargot. ;-)
Damn the Israelis…
http://www.guardian.co.uk/worl…..lestinians
too funny..
Leaving coast on the 3rd and doing a straight drive-thu since the car will be loaded to the gills. As soon as I get settled in, unpacked, and a couple of appointments out of the way will give you a holler in hopes of a meet-up. Can’t remember – are you retired or on a flexible/fixed work schedule that influences planning?
To those mucking with show text behind the curtain:
May the force be with you.
It was just sitting there asking to be plucked. ;-)
Bluebutterfly @ 92
in full agreement. The current government of israel must be stopped if not eliminated. Crimes against humanity must not be tolerated – ever, even in our own government. (There I go again, sounding just like the President of Iran).
I’m pretty flexible. Let me know when it suits.
Okey-dokey. Tentative plans for travel to Raleigh area in Jan?Feb which will put me passing close by or maybe we go for Black Mtn or Aville meet.
Yeah !!!!
I finally got on !!
Too bad I have nothing to say now !!
Anything west of W-S on I-40 is a piece of cake for me.
Ahmadinejad was correct in what he said. In what he said; not the
intentional mistranslation that MSM uses.
Ch. 4 in the UK broadcast his Christmas message. The Israeli lobbyists tried to stop it, but were unsuccessful.

Ahmadinejad is a tough one to figure out!
I just don’t know what to think of this guy ,is he nuts?
Morning, folks – it’s 33 degrees outside and it’s been raining all night long in Upstate New York. Actually, I don’t know if it’s been raining all over Upstate(which, as Caroline Kennedy has found out, is really a big place) – it might be snowing in Buffalo, Rochester and the Adirondacks for all I know. But it IS raining here, Chez Siberia-on-the-Susquehanna.
Hope everyone is coming out of the Christmas Day torpor.
I’m out. Cheers to all.
Morning all,
bb I wish we had congresscritters with his cajones. I think he is responding to cowboy diplomacy.
Good morning, pups. It’s Warner, Blow and Herbert today. Judith Warner, in “Living the Off-Label Life,” says our brain function is enhanced by drinking coffee, by eating nutritious food, even by getting a good night’s sleep. Should taking brain-enhancing drugs be another step along that continuum? Charles Blow, in “Heaven for the Godless,” says in a recent poll, a majority of respondents said that religions other than theirs — as well as people who are atheist and nonreligious — could achieve eternal life. Mr. Herbert urges us to “Stop Being Stupid.” He says over the past few decades, the American way has been to pay for things with money that wasn’t there. Americans must resolve to be smarter going forward.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got waffles this morning, with warm Vermont maple syrup or cinnamon sugar. We had our big dinner last night, beef rib roast, and I’m still stuffed. This may be a day to have naps! Have a great day.
No more so than the neo-cons. He doesn’t really have power..but the neo-cons pretend he does so that they can demonize him as a reason to invade. The neo-cons are demons, so I’d say maybe he is nuts..but so are Bush and his buddies.
Good morning, it’s 20 degrees in grey, drab montréal. Freezing rain is coming. Two days of rain on the forecast.
This weather makes me feel the same as when i saw Palin in front of that turkey grinder…
Rove says Bush has read 186 books during the past three years. Also, he found time to read the bible from cover to cover every year. Yup..uh huh..

Just an FYI — Christy is upstairs with the chair thingy.
NO!
