OT but consistent with the somewhat lighthearted mood I this thread, it seems that Mr al Zeida may have started something with the whole show thing. The New York transit agency held a pressed today announcing it’s plan to greatly increase fares whole greatly reducing service. An angry straphanger in attendance reportedly thew a shoe at the commissioner. No word on his fate, but presumably mayor Bloomberg frowns on torture (unlike his predecessor)

I thought Ackerman did a great job.

As I posted on an earlier thread, if anyone knows him, a small suggestion is that he get the anti-glare treatment on his eyeglasses if he intends to be on TV often.

I noticed the tie too, but didn’t want to be too negative, since my overall impression was good. A plain blue tie would be both symbolic & attractive.

Um, aaah, you know, kind of, Imean, etc. Rachel doesn’t do that. Many liberal interviewees do that to the extreme. Not as many republican interviewees do that.

It may be that the repubs are repeating rehearsed talking points while liberals are giving their own ideas, thinking on their feet.

Nevertheless I think people respect well spoken phony talking points more than facts spoken in: um, you know, ah, kind of, what I mean is…..
