What’s on your mind tonight?
ZED
shoes
Why shoes?
Hey nahant!
There must have been an earthquake the page was moving all over and the comment box would not open.
Today’s Glenzilla was one of his best ever, e.g.:
DIGG is open Pups!!
Hey Christine how are ya doing tonight??
everything fine here on this end bb
thanks for opening the digg nahant
A reporter threw shoes at Bush yesterday as an insult for all the horrible things he did to Iraq. But then we explained that last night to you Crissy. Now we don’t have to ruin our sreens with sox.
No big 2.5 loan from Bushco yet what’s up?
And no Double Digging tonight!!!
At least so Far /s
Great! Mr.CE finally home after four days in Manhattan, some Christmas/holiday decorations up. Getting in the mindset for traveling east (do dread the drive through snowy PA mountains), and dinner tomorrow with best friends.
Nahant lost power and no heat for you last night are you and Julie thawed out yet?
Digg it right here!
just kidding…it’s nahant’s Digg
:)
He’s a cheap bastard and wants to send us into a depression as his going away present! What does he care??
Shoes are not enough.
;>)
Better!
you are evil
Sorry, I did know. And today, over and over.
Oh but yes but it was sure cold that night was only 50 in our bedroom. In the living room though it was still toasty as the buck stove kept it warm there but with it’s fan running the rest of the house chilled… these Eichlers with all their glass and no insulation don’t hold the warmth very well (:>((
One of the local environmental groups is stopping the solar thermal power plant in Carrizo Plains East of here. Why are they not going after global warming?
Hello all.
Yup…very funny DB.
The smirk on Bush’s face when he ducked the first shoe was amazing. He is a true evildoer.
And of course, we have the show I.D.
;>)
You can fill a glas so full and so mind when full is in overload. You have other thingd on it maybe a single tasker?
db, this one is my current fav – pure genius
That boy’s had experience duckin’. I bet some crockery in Texas can attest to that, by Bull Durham.
;>)
It’s enough to make your…I’ll stop now, S.
;>)
wicked evil laugh – that fill in the blank is effective.
I don’t know what took that iraqi dood so long. boosh should have been given the boot a long time ago.
i wonder if eureka’s tubes got frozen. he said last nite a snow storm was supposed to hit today.
I just got out of a local advisory meeting duscussing a 3200 page Draft Environmental Impact Report…my brain is so so overworked (small brain).
Have to prepare for next Monday a critique on the Geological report for a Wastewater Treatment Plant, 42 mile collection system and effluent disposal as it relates to the geology of our groundwater basin. A whole set of language deologist use and so on. An exercise in futility…but them we have been there with FISA.
I figured he would have had one of those hamster wheel setups…
amazing how our media types did not think of that particular metaphor. they sure were grasping at straws to come up with ones that fit their sole viewpoint.
Beautiful music, thanks, ES.
Hi Chris, Suz, all.
they were not on their toes at all about that story…
saving their shoe leather phoning it in
like maxwell smart would have done?
Hey Chris – assuming a train ride is worse?
Sounds nice. We will be having Christmas with Julie’s family and then after the New Year we will be having Christmas again with 5 of the kids and their families, will be a full house for days with people sleeping in all the bed rooms, family room and on the futons… I will be Cooking up a storm to feed all the mouths(:>))
sorry about that chief
Love it hope that foot comes down hard!
Are you mad at me?
i was kinda wondering that myself christine e.
I bet that’s what malaki said to boosh after the incident…
Same question here.
I can’t get a train from Cleveland to Philadelphia without arriving in NYC at 7:00 am and changing stations. I would LOVE to take the train, but it is just too taxing. And the airfare from Cleveland to Philadelphia is now so high.
hahahaha you sure got your snark on tonight neuro
:)
Too bad.
I know nothing about eastern road conditions, ‘cept they are much worse than CA.
Evening, all-
ES, I don’t know if you’re into this or not-I just got turned on to this guy tonight, and let me tell you, this DFH can flat shred a guitar…
Guthrie Govan-Fives
hey rond – thats sweet.. thanks
Don’t call me Chief!
Maliki looked to me like he knew what was happening.
i’m sorry, i keep forgetting you prefer hunky construction worker guy
crap – forgot my /s tag
I append it automatically to all your comments.
It’s a special iMac protocol.
*takes 3 steps back from computer*
The Xmas Ball Blues…
love the music es! i’m hearing my bed calling to me. see y’all later.
g’nite gw
Still looking for an answer, what is this all about? Glad that I at least have you and newt with me. Gosh.
nite greenwarrior
(((Christine E)))
nite gw
Chippium-planetus-puritanis is my guess.
Nevermind.
We good.
Hey RonD– thanks love.
When i saw the song’s title, I srarted singing
“Your rocky spiiiine
Is gonna tell on you…”
====
I got provisions and was on my way home when it started sleeting/snowing. I’m so glad it wasn’t whirly snow. Very hard to keep my equilibrium when it feels like I’m in a snow globe.
Not at all…my brain is mad at me and is not expressing well through this fog of frustrstion. I didn’t come across well my bad. A mind can only carry so much. And noone has any reason to be mad at you. No I am mad at Hahant he is having to much fun. S)
We good.
You are a doll (that’s what New York gals say).
i’ve never thought of it as a snow globe. i just know its dayam hard to drive when it looks like that star wars special effect for fast travel (i forget the name). i was sitting here last night watching the snow fall lit by the deck lights and was glad i wasn’t driving through that.
i’m a california wuss when it comes to going anywhere in the snow.
OK, the next pick-up opportunity I come across, I’m calling you for a letter of recommendation.
But it is unlikely to be in NY. I have some peeps there, but they hate Californino’s. Something about Albany I guess.
Sleep well bigbrother.
exhaling – sorry you are tired and frustrated bb
You’ll get this idea of ‘North’ soon enough.
;>)
No I am just mad period..no traction for a lot of effort. Realising what a quirky mood I am in depressed yesterday pissed to day…strange mood swings. Think I know why. You can igore me tonight I have gone bug fuck.
Also I am considering supporting the Illinois Governor keeping his seat. Why couldn’t they go after some real bozo ya know. Blago fits the Chi Town mentallity.
This is what keeps me in Florida. If I move, I’ll have to deal with that whole “driving in the snow” thing.
On that note…goodnight, all. The best of all possible tomorrows to you all.
nite RonD
i’m slowly climatizing – i think
g’nite rond
*whew* Talk about Revising history…
Evenin’ all !
G’nite RonD !
darkblack, your genius is peerless !
Keep a toque…Oh, wait a minute, Petro’s not here…a snow hat handy.
;>)
phew ;)
Whoops!
Hi, Petro.
;>)
Di Rita is sooooo blatant. Does he really believe his own bullshit?
Rummy sends the large-type sack of crap Di Rita to spin. Classic. Shameless twerp.
hey petro
Evening pups. Can’t sleep and feel guilty if I’m just lurking.
Did you all hear about Al The Spook?
let’s keep that off the lake please demi
how ya doing
I paid ya a compliment and I get this in return ?!! *g*
… feigns indignation …
((( Suz )))
Bitter wind in Ye Olde Toronto today … passing out Grand Marnier & Bailey’s thru teh toobz …
Abu Muqawama put’s it into proper perspective…
Okay.
I’m doing pretty good. I hear your climatizing. brrrr.
i’ll take a bailey’s on the rocks and give ya my thanks petro. its 22.5 outside now (brrrrr)
So there I am, heading to bed, and then I make the mistake of clicking your link…this person argues that Shinseki was wrong because the surge never used the number of troops he recommended, while ignoring that if Shinseki had been listened to, the insurgency would never have gotten rolling in the first place.
The worst kind of revisionism. Simply malignant.
Goodnight, all, for real this time.
waving
Heh, I didn’t make ya click it! Aloha, Ron! ;-)
Arctic Wind musta been going fast enough to get a speeding ticket !
… here, have a double …
Now, now, I didn’t want to speak American in front of you, so unlike the melodious tones of your native land.
;>)
Thank you for the compliment. Just trying to do my bit while we wait for the other shoe to,ah…drop.
The people who believe that will tend to believe the Earth is flat …
We’ve had more than 24 hours of great puns with that incident … was wondering where you were … *g*
It’s not…? ;-)
thanks, petro. the forker is here to stay until next week at the earliest the weather dood is saying. supposed to get more snow wed/thur and an even bigger one over the weekend. good thing i stocked up and if i were to venture out it would be for want instead of need so i doubt i’ll be headed anywhere until maybe fri.
Sorry. I just wanted to tell Newton that he was probably right.
Not so much right, as overly cautious.
thanks
I’m heading up the mountain tomorrow nite, I’m hoping it’s still a go… Our weather system is hanging around and I need the funds for Xmas, as it is I lost 2 nite’s worth…!
Oh, probably idling about like some Canadian. Those snowbacks and their C.P.T (Canuck Personal Time)…It’s a wonder the dogsled makes it to the Macs Milk, I tells ya.
;>)
Welcome. Something I need to learn.
ok
my mom said she is freezing in palm desert – that its really cold down in socal
We’re supposed to get about 8 inches of snow from now until Sunday and some rain with that … roads could become giant Curling Rinks …
fingers and toes crossed ya stay warm ct :( about losing 2 shifts
How are the critters doing with the weather?
Folks down here are worried about mud slides.
I grew up surrounded by the three relevant jobs that apply. In the marrow.
YGM
replying now
local weather guy is predicting 6″ of snow sunday in portland from the front currently sitting up on the alaska/bc/yukon border. said it may be a wee bit warmer so instead of snow, we could get freezing rain.
What is this Milk of which you speak ? This is Beer Country, eh !
token adjusted much better than bailey has. i had to set up a liter box for her – something she has not used in a couple of years. she decided she was an outdoor cat and suddenly – she’s decided she is an indoor cat.
That’ll do it.
My pop warned me that there are no free rides or lunches, other than that my sisters and I grew up fairly naive.
yikes. specific to the burn areas or in general?
Yikes … some friends are heading to Palm Springs for Christmas …
she’s freezing because it dipped below 50. here’s a forecast for the area
In general and some of the burn areas. I talked to the firemen I see at the Von’s, where they all shop, and they told me the hills above where I live only have 6: of soft soil before you hit rock. Said it shouldn’t be a big problem. Makes sense. There’s only scrub brushes growing up there. You should have seen how quickly the fire came burning down those hills.
It comes in those little plastic containers that get poured into the morning double double at Timmy Ho’s on the way to the commissionaire gig at the lumber yard.
Sadly, my American friends, many ‘Canooks’ pop the top on a breakfast beer instead, which as you know leads to socialized medicine.
;>)
6: = 6″ Missed it by one key.
that’s good to know demi. when some of those hillsides let go its like a dirt avalanche.
I’ve decided she’s a *smart* cat ;-)
Come to think about it, a lot of the slides were in sandy, beachy areas, I think.
We have rocks, rocks and clay.
Besides having to look at a landscape that looks like lunar, but black, the eagles and falcons have been flying closer to us. Probably looking for food. There was a huge falcon on the peach tree in my next door neighbors yard the other night.
Trying to keep the cat in, but that’s not working very well.
Oye ! I’ll tell them to pack their woolies …
i have found snow works best at keeping a cat inside.
ROFL
:)
Today, I had to lure the dog into my bedroom with homemade chicken soup. Shut the door. Then pick up the cat and bring him in. Knucklehead wanted to go back out into the rain, so I gave him some soup too.
Spoiled animals. Who did that?
So here I am with a B.A> in Fine Art Oil Paintying to be precise so here is the description of the area I am to report on;
Since the body of knowledge
is considerable and contained in numerous appendices, it would be difficult to present it entirely in
this document and in a manner that is easily understood by the reader.
What they mean is thousands of pages of geological reports with opines, soil borings, sonar charts using geo language. Based on 6.8 earthquake fualt bordered to the West offshore a 7.3 fault and to the North, East and South a variety of magnitudes. So we have to know the building code for foundation and structural safety.. Having been in one here in 2003, I can tell you I don’t need to know any of that the cracks and fissures in the ground and the soil lurching that literally whipped the tree tops and removed the water from the swimming pools in a mild quake spoke volumes.
db, that makes it sound almost patriotic to have a breakfast beer. doubt the boss would buy the ‘but i was being patriotic so we can get socialized medicine’ as an excuse tho
yikes – makes me wonder what is being covered up in all that techno-speak
I think I’ll try the sleeping thing again.
Thanks for the chat, Suz….
oh crap – i forgot to bring up that last load of wood that i was gonna bring in around 9pm or so. play nicely with lurk – spitballs are ok, but no slingshots or thumbtacks.
petro, i’ll be a’needing another one of them doubles when i get back in. be right back.
Ted Wells’ third law: When you don’t want them to read what you’re up to, paper them to death.
Not to mention that the internationally recognized De Beer exchange is rather bullish on Canadian brew, trading it at one for two of its ‘Merkin counterparts.
This allows the Canuckistanian-in-the-street to get twice as tippled for half the price, which triples after tax forcing the snowback into an ever-increasing spiral of squalor, grow-op minding and cut-price lumberjacking just to keep up.
Why, I can hear the van doors slamming with frustration in Port Credit as we speak
;>)
I’m bowing out early tonite! I plan on posting another diary tomorrow on the SIGIR report… I bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
OMFG !!!
G’nite Buddy !
oh god!
Nite CT hope ya get up that mountain so you can make Christmas Merrier(:>))
nite tuttle
Good night CT.. that link was very heavy last night ..I did read it through and left my take…someone wanted him to stay out there.
Sorry about the short change it is depressing that so many peole are going to be strapped…I lost my home as well. So get sleep and hopefully some good will come your way soon.
back *looking around da joint*
aloha ct
Your very excellent diary inspired me to download the pdf. Dunno if my bp can take it, but I’m gonna try.
Not like we didn’t know all along, but there’s something about having it laid out in black and white..
Here’s a
doubletriple Bailey’s for ya !You see, my American friends, how a simple Canadian who might only wish to tend his or her maple syrup well in peaceful harmony among the icebergs is reduced to near-speechlessness when confronted with the seductive web of evil knitted by parliamentary democracy and a free press.
Don’t fall for their silky lies
;>)
you’re the best – thanks dood
“grow op minding” in the middle of that was frikkin’ brilliant !
It’s the (virtual) least I could do … *g*
Watch out. Those De Beer folks are infamous price fixers… and they play rough.
… and in Jan, when the temp drops even more, I’ll be reaching for Disaronno … now that takes
the Winter chills away !
*sigh* i sure hope my acclimatization is synced up by then. i guess i may have to learn how to actually put on those chains i bought for the car.
Why, there’s only the merest tinge of graft around their name, SN. Remarkable for a Canuck venture, really…Most of those cutthroat snowback grifts, er, thrifts make Chicago politics look like tea and cuke sammies with Queen Liz.
;>)
It snows that much over there … chains are needed ?
That’s what the local teenagers are for, Suz.
Hey, late nighters.
Tonights grading jag is done. I missed Toby’s post on chili as cheap-eats, so I put somebody-or-anothers’ Two-Alarm Chili spice mix recipe up as on Oxdown as Chili a la Bargain CounterTenor. While I was at it, I put my Posole (hominy stew) recipe up, too.
I’m off to bed, more grades to get out tomorrow.
Good night all.
required to carry chains or have traction tires from nov 1 to april 1. state law

So now we have dueling chili cooks… Game on, pups!
Nah. I would have left it as a comment on Toby’s post, but comments were closed by the time I saw it.
Semester grades and graduation kept me way off line this weekend.
LMAO … it’s been a real pleasure !
G’nite all !

I was with you ’til you cited chicago politics, a subject I know little of. Presently. Change is in the wind on that.
Good night..hope the power stays on.
Now I remember why i’m not grooving…my right upper front tooth crumbled and fell apart…meaning $1,000.00 crown some other repair time.
Ah, but as sure as the sun sets on the majestic pine beetle, the pernicious influence of the Cuba of the North will be felt in such disparate locales as Palm Beach dinghy rental shops, Bellingham mini-mall donut vendors, and any unscrupulous butcher who offers the dreaded ‘Canadian bacon’ to his unsuspecting customers.
…Nite, FDL.
;>)
Attaturk is upstairs!
Yep, she was in the Bush Administration Alright
