“Dodd’s complexion in this video might be an indication of just how furious he is over this Republican stunt,”

Til Monday morning when he and the rest of the U.S. Senate whoredawgs wallow and country club about bathed in their “deep and abiding friendship and respect” for one another. BTW did Doddy stand and applaud felon Stevens’ last mawkish, self pitying valedictory?

I don’t think elections are working anymore.

Thanks, goldstarndard.

So, why wasn’t Emma Coleman Jordan brought into Obama’s economic advisor committee?

The entire reason that the Republicans have balked at a loan to the auto industry is for the purposed of killing the unions. I am surprised that it took this incident for Sen. Dodd to understand this. He correctly stated that the bailout of trillions for the financial sector was made with out any demands for the employees to take pay cuts or demands to be more competitive. The reason why is they smell an opportunity to break the backs of the unions. It will backfire on them. Many of these Republicans are from Southern states where millions in tax breaks were given to mostly foreign car companies to locate their plants in their open shop states. Surprise, surprise.

Perhaps the good Senator Dodd has reason to be pissed, but here’s a reason for him to have a coronary. Is it not incredibile that the head of the senatate banking committee hasn’t demanded ( in the name of transparency ) that the Federal Reserve be required to tell the American people where their tax dollars are being spent?
Imagine a private banking cartel in the form of the Federal Reserve with no government oversight. Congress can’t even demand that their books are auditied. We the people are providing hundreds of billions of dollars to bailout banks, insurance companies and now auto makers and yet there is no transparency to the process.
At least one batle was won this week when Bank of America was forced to pay employess from a window factory their two month severence pay after the bank killed the companies credit line. Bill Moyers did a great piece on this subject yesterday, but we really have to get the message loud an clear to people like Dodd and Frank that if your going to committ US tax payer funds for bailouts, it comes with a price tag and that is total transparency. I sincerely hope Obama will be a true agent of change. Anything less and it’s business as usual in Washingtion.

Georgetown University’s legal and finance scholar Emma Coleman Jordan takes Bill Moyers through recent news on the bailouts as big business begs for more.
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/jour.....atch2.html

Yeah, well, if Dodd is so great why this?
“Whether used by senior colleagues or not, Corker raised his profile and won the respect of Republicans and the trust of some Democrats _ particularly Dodd, the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee. Corker only joined the committee in January, but Dodd’s respect will give him more than a normal freshman senator’s clout as the auto industry’s fate and the economy consume the opening months of the 111th Congress and President-elect Barack Obama’s administration.“

He TRUSTS Corker???? WTF?
Read it here:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/.....50623.html

So — we officially live in Bizarro World.

Senators of a country actively work to drive down the wages of its citizens.

Think about it.
