I was just googling to confirm but the Obama campaign was aware of a Blago problem even at the time of the Democratic National Convention.

Those around Obama, who were probably told about this investigation some time ago (since he was a senator from that state), probably couldn’t even tell Blagojevic to shut his mouth. Or, perhaps better yet, they chose to let him keep on talking.
