Ha ha. In the photo in the “water is wet” link, I think Ahnuld’s shorts are just a bit too tight…
Alert. Hugh’s list being discussed on daily kos.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/…..704/670510
with shout out to Selise for maintaining in.
Pimped Edward Teller’s photo of it but lack the time to find it. If anyone a. has time b. has it. c. has posting privileges, it would be great for people to see the scroll.
It’s so long it filled the atrium of a univ. bldg and that was hanging from a first or second floor!
Zed.
Actually not true. If I heard correctly she said there was a lack of intelligence in the WH. She speaks the truth for the first time in 8 years…. out of the mouths of boots…..
Re; Mumbai
Must be nice to have a President who is this easy to get on the phone..Right..
Who moved the call up to the President? or, If the President has a ‘private line’? Who has the number?
‘Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari took the call from a man pretending to be India’s Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday, November 28, the second day of the terrifying attacks that killed 171 people.’

We need to support the workers at Republic Windows and Doors in Chicago. While the UAW needs to revisit its long time opposition to high mileage vehicles in the name of job security it too is a union that should be supported by all workers. Single payer health care will go a long way to ensure American industry is competitive worldwide.
Ever thought of being a community organizer? How about helping to organize for a union instead.
Isn’t it Orange Co in CA that’s so rabidly red? If so, would be loverly to see that one turn blue.
Condi’s new name should be Miss Stakes Were Made.
Worst.SoS.Evah.
Yeah. It’s Nixon country. He had a beachfront property we all called San Clemency. Also home to Disney and Gene Autry’s Angels.
Not quite as evil as John Foster Dulles was, though.
She earned her position as SoS by being a totally incompetent National Security Advisor
Here’s ET’s post on Hugh’s scroll from last November.
The list hasn’t gotten any shorter since then.
Lots of econ-related media today:
Yick! The mere idea of having to live anywhere near such [words fail] makes me sick to the stomach.
It was strange watching the orange orchards between San Diego and Anaheim make way for industrial parks. Now there’s nary a citrus tree to be seen. FIL worked for Technicolor at Disney. The ex was at the grand opening of Disneyland. She was so young she didn’t remember it.
Brokaw didn’t “pass the torch” he passed the gas.
Hey in San Diego we have Bilbray, Hunter Two, and Issa. Issa is thinking of a run for guv!
Good Morning Blue Texan and Firedogs -
Obama issues statetment of support for strikers – factory is located in his former state senate district
link
Ignorant right-winger (whoops, that’s a redundancy) caller on Washington Journal claiming Dems are gonna bring back the Fairness Doctrine.
Union workers should surround the factory in Chicago to demonstrate their solidarity. Unions need to flex their muscles.
I lived there when Pete Wilson was Mayor. Rethug city to the max.
So much for “Orange” Country. :-(
Good morning.
For all the stink they’re making about the Fairness Doctrine, maybe we ought to piggyback on it and try to get it restored!
thanks bsrh! i just stopped by dkos and left a comment with a link to ET’s post (with pics, etc) from the unfurling of hugh’s list.
Wow. Men being persecuted by Violence Against Woman act. Families being desctroyed. That just out from caller on WJ.
lol, no, i think hugh’s list is more than twice as long now – last time i checked (and it’s been awhile) hugh’s list was over 120,000 words.
And you have my very most sincere sympathy! I do so loathe to see any of those creeps show up at committee hearings. :-(((
yes.
I know two people, including myself, who will work against him if he does.
And, do you happen to know where Waxman is going?
Dow Chemical cutting 5,000 full-time and 6,000 contractor jobs, closing 20 facilities and will temporarily idle approximately 180 plants.
Morning all.
If it’s any consolation, Orange County, Florida went 59-40 for Obama (after being 49-49 in ‘04). So, we have one Orange County getting it right. Do they cancel each other out? (BTW, hardly much citrus here either between development and canker. so i’m told. i dodn’t live here wehne therew as citrus and i was suprised at how little there was when i moved here.
I’m hoping other unions are contemplating such actions.
Folks who consider themselves lefties might want to look into joining the IWW. That way you could join with other union (UA, UAW, etc) members in a show of solidarity at direct actions.
Forkin’ straight, darlin’! If we’ve got to listen to them whine about it incessantly, might as well get something for the misery.
There’s an orange county in NYS too. If someone gives me the link for the election outcome by county, I’ll see how they voted. My guess is modestly D.
Obama’s gonna have lots of workers for his public works projects.
Taking Dingell’s chairmanship of a committee on the environment.
edit – (
UA, UE, UAW)Preview is mah fren
Thanks. I hope this is good news for the environment.
heck eCAHN, doncha know . . .
Nancy Pfotenhauer

intimacy, who knew ?!?!?
Just saw something on the idjit box this morning about an insect threatening the avacado (sp?) groves in FL; sounds like a real potential disaster for farmers growing those trees…. something about trees being dead within months of infestation if they can’t figure out a way to prevent it.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
So Pakistan is making a move against its lawless militants. Hmmm. Anyone in DC paying attention? No, wait. That’s off the table.
Oh. Good morning!!
Actually the Krugman lecture from Stockholm is coming up in a few minutes. Both a link to the webcast and PK’s slides are available at the Conscience blog.
avocado . . . you think, I’ll spell.
Wow. That’s a whole battle that never made onto my radar screen. What’s the agenda? Another caller said it’s religious. Is it that part of Christianist doctrine that wives must obey their husbands?
The Washington Journal has even more yucky than usual today…..two female callers whining about people hating bush……he’s been such a *wonderful* president. And on top of that, some guy claiming he doesn’t think “government should be too efficient.” Problem is, he apparently doesn’t think at all. :-(
Are you saying Nancy made that remark? She was always saying all those crazy, ridiculing things for McC.
OT: Has anyone been hearing Laura Ingraham’s new rant? She is esp. outraged that Planned Parenthood is providing gift certificates for women’s health services, exams, birth control, etc. But Laura is convinced that what women really want is an abortion for Christmas. She has freaked.
And, did you see the shot of W giving Barbara Steisand a kiss at the Kennedy Centers. And then you could see pig fly….Can he please go away?
Must be friends of this guy.
Just wish I were more proficient at both the thinking *and* spelling parts. *g*
If you want a real treat to start the day, Margaret Thatcher is on cspan3.
Nobel Economics lecture streaming live.

Haven’t done church for many years, so my theology is dimming. But as I recall, there’s a thingie in Colossians that tells, yea verily orders, wives to submit to their husbands, which is what the lord requires. Many ways to interpret that, I reckon. Literal interpretation. But once again, I want to mention the abject failure of the religious right to take literally, “As you do to the least of these, so you do to me” wrt providing basic necessities, compassion, et al.
It’s very encouraging to see Obama supporting the workers at Republic Windows and Doors.
Hope someone will post linky for Krugman transcript as soon as available.
Introduction over. Krugman up.
Check his blog for the transcript link. I want to listen carefully and not double task looking for links.
Oooh. Krugman’s got Power Points!
hadn’t heard it myself until I started googling Pfotenhauer. She is yet more Weyrich spawn – but I don’t know their true agenda here – looks like it started as general anti clinton obstructionism . . . although it started right around the same time as Southern Baptist edict on wifely obeisance –
do these folks support anything humane and decent ??
They truly are the amerikan taliban
yes Rev, that’s our Nancy. normally I’d suggest a visit to some shelters, hospitals, and cemeteries but that would imply a functioning conscience
Enjoy! Hopefully C-Span may have a rerun so I can catch it on idjit box….one of those days when I positively hate being tied to dial-up.
Christy is upstairs…
No…….another edition of SATSQ. :-(
So she is not only wacky, but dangerous. As if abusive partners need any encouragement. You are right about the visits; it is difficult to image, without seeing, the serious injuries are inflicted by bully partners.
Condi: Yet another person who should be banned from govt going forward.
