Ray always kicks okole…! ;-)
hi Suz!!
Here’s an allstar ensemble with Ray…! ;-)
one of my first musical memories is singing along with this song in the car – mom driving and we were singing at the top of our lungs tooling down the road. i don’t think i was even old enough to go to school
Digg is open Pups!
i’ve posted that one before – either here or at my place – tis a great forking ensemble boogie honky tonking in that video
thanks for opening the digg nahant
Ain’t nothin’ better than some classic Ray and the Raylettes :-)

Dugg it

Three awesome pianists with Ron Woods amongst others supporting…! ;-)
nite time is the right time
Shake your tail feather
the blues brothers *sigh*
Second that sigh — we should’ve watched that while my UK friend was here, I don’t believe he’s ever seen it. Next time!
ohmystars – he needs to come back just to see that film ll.
didja have a nice visit?
We sure did! And as for videos (or rather, DVDs) I made sure he got to see Monterey Pop 1967, and Festival Express, while he was here. That was in between all of the road trips…
No sparks…? ;-)
haha – that’s a good solid base to build on. monterey pop forking rocked hard
Oh yeah! He really enjoyed that one.
More Brother Ray
I Got A Woman

Boogie on Reggie Women youtube
Sure thing Margot :-)
Multi-tasking here, tracking my friend’s flight back to Manchester UK — he’s almost back home.
ooh baby baby
And yeah, I’m a geek! ;-)
i did that with the google maps when baby girl was driving out from utah for the bride’s wedding – and on her way back home.
my name is suzanne and i am a geek
You didn’t tag her with a rfid tag…? ;-)
He had to fly from here to Schiphol (Amsterdam) and then backtrack to Manchester — weird, since he had to fly over the UK and then fly back the other way. That flight is in the air and should land soon. I just don’t rest well until my loved ones are where they are supposed to be :-)
;-) Geeks R us!
*raises glass’a root beer*
clink
same here. when i was on the mt, the bride would call me with her ‘i’m safe’ call when she got back down to the flatland and freeway. the i’m safe call is still a tradition – i had to call her when i got home turkey day nite and let her know i made it home safe.
when i was a kid and a teen, our family tradition was to call ourself person to person collect to save the long distance charges and yet let family know one had arrived safely.
she’s taller than me and a lot younger – shudda done it when she was little (laughing)
Suz, I remember that phone call thing too. My BFF and I still do that, to a degree — we call and give one ring, then hang up, as a signal
with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream?
fair enough
now, i send my mom an email letting her know that i’ve arrived and another when i get home from a long trip.
we do a lot of our i’m safe stuff now via email.
Heh — this time last night, we were watching Monterey Pop and enjoying some, uh, libations…
Down In Monterey
oh my stars – right back to the days of incense and love beads (head bobbing to the groove)
I tell ya Suz, I was born too late! ;-)
i was too young to go but not to young to appreciate it – i wudda been at altamont with my bf if i had not come down with the mumps. i had talked my folks into letting me go since it was sorta local – aint no way i could talk them into letting me go to monterey. hell, i was forbidden to step foot in berkeley unless accompanied by a parental unit.
my teen years were rough on my folks.
Back in ‘70 or so I’m pretty sure I was a budding librul, at age 10. I remember being semi-aware of Woodstock at the time, and events that came afterwards. Had I been born just a few years earlier, I would have been so totally into that scene.
70 – i turned 16 that october.
During our road trips this past week, we visited with my dad; he teasingly gave me grief about being a bleeding-heart librul and neo-hippie ;-)
sounds like a lovely trip down memory lane ll
I think Eric Shinseki as head of the VA is a good surprise as head of the VA he controls the VA hospitals right. Obama can test run any changes he wants to make for National Healthcare through the VA.
Computerized medical records and less paper work, a shift to more preventive care as opposed to waiting for an emergency etc.
Then he can show that his ideas actually work in the real world and present it to Congress as a Fait accompli because the ideas work.
Remember the VA is paid for by tax payers if lower drug costs save the VA money it should also save the private system money.
If the VA can provide care at a lower cost then Private Insurance if it is indeed so competitive should be able to match the price.
And Obama will have a few years of results with hopefully better outcomes for VA patients to prove it.
The GOP can and will try and say no to the changes which will hurt them with military voters. Plus Erick was right about needing more troops in Iraq and lost his job rather than go along to get along like the rest of the Generals did.
The GOP attacks him at their peril.
Yes it was :-)
Watching this flight until it lands, then I need to get outta here…
i like this choice. keeping him at va keeps the taint of bush’s war from becoming obama’s war if he had been offered dod instead.
after we start bringing our troops home, this cabinet position is going to significantly increase in importance and scope.
Yep and the troops will have lots of stories to tell about the war that can only help us.
Give it six months and everybody will hear from someone they know about what really went on in Iraq. It won’t be Gorilla Guides saying it no offense to Gorilla Guides, but rather people will hear this direct from people they know and trust.
Poll numbers for the GOP if they can get any lower they will.
he will be a fighter for them – about fucking time we had someone who actually cares about our vets.
KLM 1073 has landed in Manchester :-)
G’night all, and thanks Suz for letting me hang out :-)
Aloha, LL! Sweet dreams…!
I like the fact he is the first ‘amputee’ to reach four star and JCS Chief… So far I’ve not heard a word in dissent from any of the milblogs…! ;-)
g’nite ll
Yeah and his personal integrity of being fired gives him Cred. That and being right about the war and popular gives him even more cred.
Nobody else Obama could pick has more Cred. No offense to the other picks I can’t think of anyone with more cred.
He could be the cabinet pick everyone thought Colin Powell would be. Now there is a man who ruined his reputation and political career covering for Bush.
Heck I don’t think his Son will even bother running for anything thats how toxic Bush is.
Nite LoundounLib
CT, are you staying warm up on your mountain?
My cotton thermals make a world of difference…! ;-)
wearing double thermals will keep ya toasty – the fundy would do that when he was working motorcycle shift at nite.
Heh, you did mention that he was a wuss about it…! ;-)
a vain wuss – he had those wool motor uniform pants tailored so that he would wear his thermals and not have a droopy seat.
and the double thermals under the wool long sleeved uniform shirt that was under the leather motorcycle jacket.
he said the helmet did help keep him warm, like wearing a cap.
crap – hit send too soon – but he complained the helmet mussed up his hair.
Heh, I’d like to have seen him bitch about helmet hair in the Army…! Bwhahaha!
was worse than my preteen daughter about always doing the hair and i swear he did a mini duck and checked himself out in the m/c mirror when dismounting.
*sigh* Why didn’t she slap him instead…?
Good. I’m fond of mine – downright cozy.
Heh, Good, especially since you need it at sea level too…! ;-)
So, was he good looking or just vain?
possibility of snow at the coast this weekend, maybe friday. we will see if it really happens but i figure i will be wearing multiple layers.
Stocking up on the firewood and stoking the fireplace, too, eh? ;-)
Well, I shall bid a fond adieu to ya’ll! Aloha Oe!!!
speaking of which, i gotta order more wood. gonna have to do that as soon as i get up tomorrow – make sure it is delivered and as much stacked up here as possible ahead of time … just in case. of course, i gotta go to bed first – and this seems to be about that time of nite…
g’nite all and thanks for hanging out with me tonight.
pleasant dreams.
nite tuttle
nite suz
nite. I’m gone.
You know those proxies we all have to attend to difficult social functions and such for us? She probably sent one of those to the White House and forgot the need for complete instructions.
Attaturk is upstairs!
But, but, Bill O’Reilly already passed judgment?!
