Thank you, ES. I’ve been trying to figure out what was behind Rice appearing on 3 (or more?) Sunday shows the same day. I think you’ve answered my question. I hope they have to look over their shoulder every second of every day, and have nightmares every night for what they’ve done.

This is a woman who, at her Congressional confirmational hearing, objected to Barbara Boxer suggesting that Condi was less than honest about the war. How can she live with herself!!!??

The same way that Bush has no trouble going to sleep at night after screwing over the US.

Rice could very well be telling the truth about going to war anyway.

I don’t doubt that they wanted to, but no way do they get the political support necessary without “mushroom clouds.”

Rice could very well be telling the truth about going to war anyway. It is not politically advantageous for them to discuss putting our troops in the Middle East in order to present Islamic extremists with an easy target, as compared to targets in the United States. Almost nobody talks about this, but it’s more than likely such a consideration is part of the reason we will continue having troops there, under an Obama administration and maybe even longer. That fact gets so very little exposure, because what politician would want to end their career by talking about using our troops as sacrificial targets.

Meanwhile, bombs have continued going off in Iraq day after day. We as a people have failed future generations by allowing our culture to be shaped by authoritarian leaders who have mostly their own best interests in mind. There have been protests by the people, but so few so late and attended by such a very small percentage of the population. How many marches have we had targeting MSM and their artificial coverage of the world? What measures have we taken to restore credibility and honor to journalism? I’d just hazard a guess at least one in ten people think MSM news is totally fucked, but how many people have protested that? 1 in 25,000?

This was just about Condi Rice, though, so I apologize about the rant. We all know she’s a lying, conniving bitch. She’s almost as responsible for the death and mayhem as Bush is. She is not a good person, and because of her complicity and own actions she is just as slimy as Karl Rove. But we may have invaded Iraq anyway, because this way our troops get blown to shit instead of our cities. I’m just saying.

CONDI: We talked a lot about dissenting views.
…and how we could supress them, engage in character assassination on anyone expressing them, and push them out of any position of responsibility.

Yeah, I bet you did talk a lot about dissenting views. In case you don’t remember, Condi, that’s how Valerie Plame got outed, you disingenuous treasonous piece of offal.

Thanks Blue, and how about adding the ‘Mother of all Facts’, the ‘Smoking Gun’ on proving Condi and the neocon Bushies criminal liars.
Here we have the man who was paid to know, Drumheller the CIA’s top man in Europe, the head of covert operations, calling them all liars.
live on 60 Minutes, video at link below…

“A Spy Speaks Out
Former Top CIA Official On “Faulty” Intelligence Claims

(CBS) When no weapons of mass destruction surfaced in Iraq, President Bush insisted that all those WMD claims before the war were the result of faulty intelligence. But a former top CIA official, Tyler Drumheller — a 26-year veteran of the agency — has decided to do something CIA officials at his level almost never do: Speak out.

He tells correspondent Ed Bradley the real failure was not in the intelligence community but in the White House. He says he saw how the Bush administration, time and again, welcomed intelligence that fit the president’s determination to go to war and turned a blind eye to intelligence that did not.

“It just sticks in my craw every time I hear them say it’s an intelligence failure. It’s an intelligence failure. This was a policy failure,” Drumheller tells Bradley.

Drumheller was the CIA’s top man in Europe, the head of covert operations there, until he retired a year ago. He says he saw firsthand how the White House promoted intelligence it liked and ignored intelligence it didn’t:

“The idea of going after Iraq was U.S. policy. It was going to happen one way or the other,” says Drumheller.

Drumheller says he doesn’t think it mattered very much to the administration what the intelligence community had to say. “I think it mattered it if verified. This basic belief that had taken hold in the U.S. government that now is the time, we had the means, all we needed was the will,” he says. ‘
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories.....7749.shtml

Rice is using the standard Republicans tactic of repeating the lie until it becomes the truth.

Forgery, cherrypicking, stovepiping, leaking info and then citing it as further proof once it was published, the use of shills like Judy Miller and Michael Gordon, the refusal to accept or even acknowledge contrary information, the jingoism, the assertion of “imminent” threat in the absence of any, they used them all and now they blame it on everyone but themselves. But seriously, do any of us think that Ms. “No one could have predicted” has any credibility at all on anything.

I’ve often marveled that the United Nations, a world body created for the ostensible reason of promoting peace, in it’s first action changed the name of Palestine to Israel and in doing so created an intractable source of conflict. I’ve often thought everybody would have been better served if the U.S. had donated Florida for the creation of a new Jewish homeland.
