He seems to have Obama-itis (too nice). The language could have been much stronger attacking those that mischaracterized him and his relationship to Obama. Then there’s this sentence. The word ‘comrades’ jumps off the page. I had expected him to be more articulate.</p> <p>If I were writing it, I would have started by talking about the VN war, what people were doing to try to stop it, why it was ineffective. Then simply say that drove some protesters to excess but that played a role in ending the war. I would apologize for the blowback that the war protests caused (Nixon, Reagan, Bush) not for the activity itself.</p> I thought he was apologizing for something without explaining well why he did what he did.
