Long ago and far away, back in 1945, as a child I had a long chrome pipe with holes which I tried unsuccessfully to make into a flute. So, I used my voice for sound. I had the job (at age 11) of staying all day alone in the fields watching our milk cow and a young heifer while they grazed. My mother had died the summer before and the “flute” somehow eased my sorrow.</p> <p>Think I’ll order one of those as a Christmas gift for myself.
