David Gregory! oh god no.
I think we all knew the Neocon Bullshit Corpse would pick this dullard. I want to see a newsday like this.
I wanna know who’s on this commission. I’m not real confident in the use of “bipartisan” any more.
Where’d everybody go? I know I talk to myself a lot but…
Seems like CNN is taking on AP. AP calls CNN writing abysmal. This could be fun.
If I were in charge of MTP, I’d use my new moderator to interview Obama, no better way to start of the newbie’s tenure.
Prediction. David Gregory’s first guest will be either Joe the Plumber or Karl Rove. Gregory is a more appropriate host of a dance show where he and Karl Rove can show off their moves.
AP is newspapers and radio, right? Am I missing something? Because it really looks as if CNN is moving into media that frankly are on the gurney already..I don’t see this as entering a ‘growth’ situation. Or, am I missing something here?
The corporate MSM is dead! Long live the new media. It’s imperative that the new media supplants the corporate media.
Two reichwing news orgs taking each other on. Yep, could be fun.
Did they pick that time period out of the air, just like the original bailout
figure?
Must promote fear to control the people…the never ending Republican mantra.
Unfortunately, they’ll be around as long as there are people who think American Idol and Dancing with the Stars is entertainment.
Gregory thinks that it is all about him. If CNN is smart they will put Zacharia in the same time slot and kick ass.
Yep. It’s not hard to scare people who are afraid of their own shadow.
As I understand it they will be offering news stories to papers at a lower cost than AP.
In montreal, the american consulate is acting like a big bully. I hope the new administration will make this right.

Iirc, there was something on-line yesterday about HuffPo getting a $25M loan to expand their services. Hopefully someone can provide the linky with accurate info.
I’m thinking very seriously of bailing out of work early today to be here for Krugman at 2. I’m certainly not smart enough in economics to add anything of value but I figure I’ll learn something and might even come up with an intelligent question.
After what happened to Ivins and in the botched investigation into the very real anthrax attack on the Capitol, the bearings of the recommendation by the Commission are just a little misplaced, you think ?
TPM is putting on new staff to live blog from congress and the executive branch

I’ve long thought that the Federal Bureau of Ideologues couldn’t find a whale in a swimming pool.
Gregory on MTP? I expected it after I recalled his love of the rove boogie woogie.
I don’t bother watching any of talking heads on Sunday. It’s mostly recycled neoclowns on fox and has been mostly repubs on the others.
Besides that, hasn’t anyone else noticed that all of these people have one thing in common? They all say what they mean, get called on the carpet, and then use words like gotcha journalism, taken out of context, blather blather blather. If the line is going to change in less than an hour, why bother watching?
Gregory? Ack! Oh, I don’t care to watch him.
Wonder how long it will take before Congress tries to shut that down due to accurate, in depth reporting.
Don’t do that. Krugman is supposed to be here tomorrow, isn’t he?

Some morning humor. Apparently, the GOP lost the fight with Sarah. She is still wearing her campaign clothes. The same bracelets on her wrist, too.

Oops, you’re right. Thanks. I misread the notice.
Is the bipartisan commission the same the that said there would be attacks on the NY Subway system during last weekend?
I assume the bushies still have a store of anthrax they have yet to use so maybe they are contemplating an attack just before the next gen. election. Nothing these bastards do would surprise me.
UPDATE 2: Even several hours after the HuffPost report, no other media organizations have independently confirmed the news. NBC executives, according to the NY Times, said there will not be an announcement Tuesday.
Politico
General Electric, who owns that corporate lobbyist David Gregory, makes it difficult to find how much toxic plastics they make.
David, are you going to report on melamine poisoning of 300,000 sick Chinese children?
I may have to update my Oxdown Post.
And coincidentally….why was Rove on the Today Show this morning? Not a good way to start the morning.
Maybe it was a trial balloon that blew up in their faces before it got out the door.
We need to start an organization to counter the influence and effcts of AIPAC and that ilk. I’m about tired of the Middle East NeoNazis.
Maybe so. Hope you might be correct, again.
Off to swim in the great capitalist cesspool.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
hope so
Did anyone here figure out yesterday whether Faux News got to ask a question at Obama’s presser? Inquiring mind wants to know.
Have a good one, SD. Don’t burn any bridges, would ya?
No.
There was a story somewhere. I’ll see if I can find the link.
We seem to do tag-team here most mornings. You’re off, I’m on. {{{tap}}} Swim safely.
No, they didn’t. There was a short piece on that somewhere yesterday, stating that Obama is showing his disdain for Fox News reporting.
Dunno, but good morning Barbara.
they did not.
Here it is, barbara

Nah. I’m better at blowin’ ‘em up.
Yer too cute.
I get to go play in that cesspool today. Get to make a little bit of money. Yay! Groceries for another week.
Thanks, everyone. Inquiring mind satisfied for a nanosecond.
So what I discovered watching Obama’s presser online yesterday (”discovered” because I don’t watch teevee — have I done that disclaimer yet today? *g*) is that the questioners are pre-selected. Is their question pre-selected, too?
See #26 linky.
The MIC through their mouthpieces, MSM, would never let that happen. Any office would be bombed, any spokesperson branded an anti-semite, any fundraising would be prosecuted under the patriot act. Nope, AIPAC and the israeli fascists have a solid grip.
Here’s the longer piece I saw yesterday at Crooks & Liars.
The corporate media knows they have a lot of ground to make up hence you can expect to see even more right wing shills, Republicons, pundits and bloviators on the corporate media. Maintaining the status quo and then a return to the glory days of the Bush administration is a priority of the corporate media.
They haven’t run into folks like me I guess. Like Johnny Cash once said when asked if he was a hawk during Viet Nam, “No, I’m a dove. With claws.”
Interesting LA Times piece on the evolution of what “conservative writer Kathleen Parker has called the ‘evangelical, right-wing, oogedy-boogedy’ branch” of the GOP.
Thanks for the link. Great news.
It is great news, but over time, HuffPost seems more and more to resemble The National Enquirer with sensational headlines and a boatload of celebrity drivel. There. I said it and I’m glad. Hmmmmph.
