hey if ES doesn’t mind and if i remember the rules correctly (that we’re allow one pimp link per day?)…. it’s been 5 months since my last diary so i’m about due.

it’s only the first bit, but i’ve already put a lot of work into it (and there is lots more to do) – the idea is to make a series on the legislative history for the various financial deregulation decisions that contributed to the current financial and economic crisis.

How are the states going to make money with a slowing economy cutting their tax revenues?
I say tax Pot FDR after all legalized beer again and taxed it after prohibition. The anti drug nuts can choose to vote whether to legalize it or not state by state. Lets direct where the next GOP Crusade will be fought (they need a cause they need to fight) so lets give them a cause of our own choosing Nationwide.
So then what happens a few Blue states then vote to legalize pot and the red states don’t then the red states will be forced to raise taxes, which is always a popular move in a Recession.
Other Blue States see what is happening and join the bandwagon.
End result our states by not raising taxes and not having to cut services will get out of the recession first!

So far, I’m far less complacent about Obama’s cabinet choices than say Jane, Glenn, Christy, and … Sure, we always knew he was a center-rightist. And surely we knew it after his about-face on FISA. And, if that failed, most certainly after his about-face on the “success of the surge.”

Someone asked him with respect to his cabinet: “So where’s the change?” He repied: “The change will come from me.”

Okaayy! I’ll be waiting to see it.

The big three want a bailout the GOP is insisting on Union pay cuts. What do you want to bet that Consumer Spending over the holidays in states with lots of auto workers will tank if there is no bailout, or even if there is a bailout but with Union pay/benefits cuts? What do you want to bet those Consumer Spending numbers will be higher than in other states?
In other words we blame the GOP for ANY down turn in the economy!
In other word we will be able to show a link between cutting Union jobs and lower Consumer Spending to the people to explain the economy getting worse! We can blame the GOP!

I think, for instance, we can all agree on the Willie Nelson Rule: Any artist who once owed more than $10 million in back taxes and helped start Farm Aid can be forgiven for a Taco Bell commercial and a couple of Christmas albums.

The banks won’t loan money to get the economy going but if we pass a geed bailout with a plan that makes hybrid cars and does not cut union pay and benefits then the banks will feel better about loaning money to the car companies and consumers wanting to buy cars especially if there is a tax credit.
People want hybrid cars they are the new status symbol.
Plus does the GOP have any ideas of their own to get the banks to lend?

It is hard to say how much it is being pushed by the Israeli government. But I think where so much eavesdropping is being contracted out to private firms, it is critical that Congress look into what foreign connections these firms have. I’m sure NSA would love to have some of its most important U.S. contractors have contracts to eavesdrop on foreign countries.

So, it is an open secret that your and my phone conversations are being monitored by contractors in Israel.

Hey pups I forgot to mention it but the installation of the Solar is completed as of late today. I can’t turn it on officially until it gets inspected but It was turned on today as a test of the system and it passed. Unfortunately we had heavy fog and it was after 4PM so it didn’t generate very much, just enough for a few light bulbs or so…. But it works and I can’t wait for the city to come and inspect it so I can go online. The last few steps will be to close up all the areas that need inspecting and for PG&E to install the digital meter that will go backwards!!
