CNN has an article that Mathews might run against Specter in 2010. Well, Mathews is clearly a Republican and was drawling over Palin when she came out. I hope Dems aren’t stupid enough to think he is a Dem.

As speculation continues to swirl about a possible Pennsylvania senate bid by MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews, Republican Sen. Arlen Specter said on Sunday that he’s not worried about it.

The Patriot-News of Harrisburg reported on Saturday that Matthews met with Pennsylvania Democratic Party leaders to discuss a possible senate run in 2010 against the incumbent Specter.

Matthews, in a statement on the political Web site FiveThirtyEight.com, said reports of him staffing up for a run are “absolutely not true.”

There are many who are willing to ask the hard questions and do the work required to turn things round. FDL is just one of those places where the visionaries gather. But there are more who would prefer to spend their time being entertained with mindless pablum. That is one of our biggest challenges.
