Only W. could look around at the disaster he’s created over the past 8 years and say, "Ain’t I special?"
“I would like to be a person remembered as a person who, first and foremost, did not sell his soul in order to accommodate the political process,” Bush said in the interview. “I came to Washington with a set of values, and I’m leaving with the same set of values. And I darn sure wasn’t going to sacrifice those values.”
I take Chimpy at his word. He was a morally lazy, pro-torture, warmongering, Constitution-burning asshole who values loyalty above all else before he got to Washington.
What else, W.?
“I’d like to be a president (known) as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace; that focused on individuals rather than process; that rallied people to serve their neighbor,” the president added.
He’d also probably like to be known somebody who didn’t burn the whole freaking house down through his own arrogance and incompetence.
But it ain’t gonna happen.

Snark?
Oh yeah, we’re gonna remember the chimp fondly, for sure.
He was chosen by the Rs to do a certain job and he did it. Destroy everything in sight except the rich. Mission Accomplished.
Just because you embrace evil and do not need a bribe does not make you moral.
Also I want some proof first that you have a soul.
I’d like to be the filling in a George Clooney/Ryan Gosling sandwich, and I’d say I have just about as much chance of that happening as Chimpy does of being remembered as anything but the worst pResident ever.
Statement assumes the man had a soul in the first place. Pre-supposes facts not in evidence at this time.
Nope the Dow is down Hedgefunds who bought home loan paper the ultra rich are hurting just like the banks. Regular people can’t even buy hedge funds unless they got a million dollars I think.
However our pension funds can and often did.
“..did not sell his soul..” – Well, bud…this assumes you HAVE one.
“And I darn sure wasn’t going to sacrifice those values.” – Yep – you didn’t sacrifice your values, which were and are: “I’ve got mine, screw you.”
“I’d like to be a president (known) as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace; that focused on individuals rather than process; that rallied people to serve their neighbor,” – well, you’d LIKE to be known for that, but the entire rest of the world(except for those who are as deluded as you are) will tell you that you will be known, ahem, for a whole lot of other, very negative stuff. Sorry about that.
He loves commanding his toy soldiers.
special holiday memory pic at the link
Damn! He’s killed even more than we thought. Wonder where he’s hiding the bodies?
The day he was elected, I told my older sister, “We may grow to love him…”
Her response – “I just cut you out of my will.”
She’s forgiven me, as I’ve shown just how much I haven’t grown to love that asshole fucking war criminal.
I just love the last 2 lines, Blue Texan! 707 Well done.
karen
What is the latest estimate on the number of Iraq’s killed? Has Bush beat Saddam’s record yet? I thought Condi said that we were not going into Iraq to free the people, but to destroy WMD?
Shorter Junya: “Ah knew that 2 plus 2 equals 3 then, and ah still know it now!”
“I came to Washington with a set of values, and I’m leaving with the same set of values. And I darn sure wasn’t going to sacrifice those values.”
And after eight long, painful years, it’s still all about him.
I hope the asshole studies up on his Dutch. I’d sure love to see him standing in the dock at the Hague . . .
BT – awesome smackdown.
“I’d like to be a president (known) as somebody who
liberatedslaughtered50a few million people and helped achievepeacechaos in a country that was otherwise NO threat to us; that focused on killing individuals rather than helping; that rallied people to hate Americans,” the president added. That’s more like it.
Bush will be remembered as the President who was wrong. Wrong about WMD,Torture, War Crimes, No child left behind.
Bush will be remembered as a failure Failed to get Ossama, failed to even go after Ossama, Failed to Save New Orleans, failed to save the economy.
Failed so big that America choose an African American rather than risk voting for another member of Bush’s party.
Just what has Bush done right as President?
heh,
I told my cousin “Well, we lived through eight years of Ronald Reagan” — I had no idea.
What’s the half life of W Derangement Syndrome, and do I have to wait until 1/20 to start getting over it?
chronic with periodic acute phases.
You didn’t make my day. *g*
Ah Bush’s *cough*
legendaryImaginary, People skills and emotional intelligence.Sheesh just stare into Bush’s eyes tell him he’s pretty, smart, brave etc and Bush thinks he’s getting engaged!
Bush never pushes for a ring.
Bush fails because he never closes a deal, well a good deal anyway…he has closed lots of bad deals.
What is this peace Bush speaks of we are still fighting two wars right?
Digg is open

“somebody who liberated 50 million people” . . . ‘pears to me that come 1/21/2009, more than 100 million will be liberated . . . or at least as ‘liberated’ as foreclosed, bankrupted, jobless, worried, formerly middle-class ‘people’ can be.
Don’t worry failure is killing the Bushies sure we might relapse like we did with Reagan in the 80’s but who knows we might have decades without a return of the plague!
Dubya, shut the fuck we’ve heard enough out of you.
That 25-30 percent of people polled who STILL support him and his wars will never recover. Among his achievements, proving that nearly one third of Americans are completely delusional.
War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength.
Remember now, “serving your neighbor” means something different to cattle breeders.
I’d love to see a video montage of all the disasters of eight years of this moron together with a collection of his great mispeeches and him mounting the chopper for the last time like Nixon and all to the tune of Sinatra’s, I Did It My Way.
ET,
After the five votes that counted were counted in December of 2000, I told Mrs. BC, “Don’t worry. He’s an idiot, but he is going to be guided by experienced people. Things will be okay.”
I’ve been wrong before. I didn’t under Cheney and Co to be the collection of authoritarians that they are. I hope I am never, ever that wrong again.
BC
Sarah Palin campaign slogan? The GOP loves to claim that they are Just Regular Folks they always assume that regular folks are as stupid as they are?
Amazing how he embodies Orwell’s nightmarish vision without ever having read it, or any other book (My Pet Goat doesn’t count because as far as I know, he still hasn’t finished it). Maybe a pop-up version of 1984 will become available. It would be a great addition to his preznitshul liberry.
Bush is deserving of nothing less than a trial at the Hague and then the rest of his life in a prison. If not soon then someday. Just as Eichman was eventually brought to justice, so will be the fate of Bush. Perhaps it will be Iraqi intelligence that brings him to Bagdhad. At that point he will have wished he had turned himself into the war crimes tribunal at the Hague.
Just how long do you want to sit in a movie theatre?
After the five votes that counted were counted in December of 2000, I told Mrs. BC, “Don’t worry. He’s an idiot, but he is going to be guided by experienced people.
Things will be okay.”Things will Come Undone!Fixed it for you:)
The answer is Cheney.
The U.S. would never turn over a former president and I’d be willing to bet Bush never travels outside the U.S. after leaving office. Not because he’s worried about being tried for war crimes but because he simply has no interest in the world.
“I’d like to be a president (known) as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace; that focused on individuals rather than process; that rallied people to serve their neighbor,” the president added.
He rallied people to serve their neighbors alright.
He advanced the cause of more insurgents than could ever be counted. They killed maimed and tourtured both Iraqis and invaders. What a dipstick.
Bleach for my brain, please.
Tim Robbins co-produced a stage version of 1984 that got great notices.
Maybe the Dim Son saw that? I concur that Orwell’s vocabulary is much too advanced for The Deciderator.
Picture says it all…
Just let chimpy know that in your note that they will let him keep his mutt in the cell with him in the Netherlands…AMF…
Are you saying that if the International War Crimes Tribunal were to indict Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield, or any other American complicit in war crimes the U.S. would refuse to surrender because of his former status?
i bet bush has done wonders for 1984 book sales.
I tried to read that book as a teenager but it was so depressing I couldn’t finish it.
The Hague Invasion Act
BT- excellent summery
That this pseudo-president Tortured or reditioned anyone and we, the American public don’t demand answers and JUSTICE says so much about the high standard of a country we were given and how far we have fallen.
PAT TILLMAN
1 GI + 222 iraqis
Merry Christmas george and don’t skip church.
Bush never pushes for a ring.
That’s because Frodo lost it and Bush got it…
i read again in 2002 or 2003. much more depressing when one can see echos of it in real life.
It helps to have an open heart at church for anything good to happen.
I could be wrong.
I bought a copy of 1984 last year after not having read it since high school. Amazing the influence Orwell had on this administration. As if it was the playbook.
He’ll be remembered as the person who killed one million Iraqis.
sorry selise, that link takes me to a wiki non page, i don’t think it went where you were pointing us.
i hope every single item on hugh’s list is remembered.
my bad. how’s this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A…..ection_Act
What is with this cattle breeders thing he is all hat and no cattle.
We love you, (((HUGH)))!
Hugh’s list will be studied by historians the world over. Great work.
Is it possible for the US to bestow a title on a past president? I would like to recommend His Incompetency.
Yes, they wouldn’t establish the precedent, for fear every administration would be similarly charged.
In the book salon Rose talked about people in Texas showing real fear about being liberal or Democrats. That’s very scary in America. What have these Bushies done to cause that?
:(
Has anyone here seen the current front page shot of Bush at Huffington? He looks really awful. Really.
Some could say that the president’s job is a tough one and takes its toll, but from what I’ve read, I don’t think he’s missed any sleep over the nation’s troubles. Or worried about the people he has killed.
Here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/
But, you don’t have to look if you don’t want to.
Just wondering why the man looks So Bad.
third time the charm? i hope….
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A…..ection_Act
That works. Interesting, thanks.
When soliciting for $ in Houston Bush said Laura was looking for a house in Dallas. The National Enquierer had an article which quickly disappeared saying that Laura was going to divorce Shrub after his presidency was over. HMMMMMMMMMMMM
yep, thanks!
sorry about that. thanks.
Hmmmm indeed. When a story goes up and then is pulled, you know someone was threatened.
We’ve also heard rumors of Laura spending time outside the WH at a hotel.
Can you imagine how embarrassed she is? All of those public functions where he appears to be drunk? Not saying poor Laura. Saying the woman probably can’t wait to get away from him.
But he does look awful, doesn’t he?
Not feeling bad for him either. Well, maybe a little. On a human level. That someone is that evilly yucky.
It’s a little late for him to worry about his legacy.
good one, BT!
what I wonder is how Bu$h’s parents are holding up? HE may be THAT stupid to fully not realize how he’s destroyed this country in his 8 years of terror, incompetence and arrogance, but SURELY Bu$h Sr. and Babs aren’t lost on the subject in light of the onslaught of facts and horrors that keep coming out of that office, and showcased by current affairs.
To live and die in mortal shame…… Now THERE’S something to consider.
How’s the whole fam damily, really?
demi,
Part of the reason he loks so bad is the setting of the photo. He’s wearing black, and the background mis light. The camera wants to average the two. Plus a flash was used because of the light/dark situation, making him squint.
Even so, the guy just got caught at a wrong moment.
But I also think that he’s lost no sleep over his atrocities.

I would like to be a person remembered as a person who, first and foremost, did not sell his soul in order to accommodate the political process…
—-
Cheney and Rove played him like a fiddle. Bush is too dumb to recognize who owns his soul.
- Tom
Yup, yup, that’s the number that John Dean talks about in his book “Conservatives without Conscience” who are followers of authoritarians, no matter what the fuhrer is pushing.
I actually think that Bush, unlike Truman, will *drop* in popularity as time progresses (there’s still lower numner!) and the world responds to Obama in contrast.
“number” :)
Siri,
Poppy and Babs know full-well what Junja has done to the Bush brand. Junja was never supposed to be Preznit, that was Jebbie’s role. Jebbie was the son groomed to be a politician.
Karl Rove came along and believed that he could make Junja Presidential. And Karl did make him appear Presidential enough to collect the right set of box tops and gain entry to 1600 Pennsylvania.
Bushies’ eight years in the White House have destroyed the Bush Brand. Jebbie could no more run for President this year than he could fly without assistance. It’s unlikely that the Bush brand will recover sufficiently for Jeb ever to make a credible run for the Presidency. It may not recover sufficiently for George Prescott Bush to mount a credible campaign for dog-catcher.
If we owe Junja a thanks for anything, it’s a thanks for removing the vile Bush family from American politics for a least the next 50 years.
That’s an oil promoter for you.
Once a con man, always a con man.
I think you should submit this brilliant idea to SMU for W’s liberry. They are going to need some filler :)
He doesn’t have a ranch in Paraguay to
drink himself to deathhide out at?This is really an outstanding idea. It’d take a lot of work but would be worth the effort.
“I pray Heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house, and on all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise men ever rule under this roof.”
John Adams upon moving into the newly finished White House, November 1800
Chimp’s legacy is reflected by how he does NOT qualify under Adams’ benediction.
Remember Goopers and drunks rewrite history as it happens.
Definitely not!

Laura and daughter both look like they wish they were anywhere but there with Bush. The daughter looks like she is not too proud of her drunk daddy.
