I could not have said it better. He took on Hillary every day for two years.He was dismissive of her and down right nasty. There are an awful lot of women who will remember when he puts his name on a ballot. Better stay at MSNBC where he can play his games!

Will he be running as a Democrat or as a repub? He loved himself some George Bush; “Only the left wing wackos hate Bush.” Although he worked for Tip O’Neil he sure has been anti Democrat ever since. So I have to assume it would be as a repub.

He thinks he can win because of Franken. “If he can do it I can do it.” Well, Al was a comedian but Matthews is just a joke.

Why is everyone assuming that Tweety will be the nominee. The voters of Pennsylvania just might have something to say about that. The political machine here, with an assist of Chuck Schumer, likes to dispense with the niceties of level playing field primaries. When progressive Chuck Pennacchio refused to pull out of the Senate race in 2006 the machine simply falsely suggested to the media that Pennacchio would not be on the ballot, and the media thereafter simply ignored Pennacchio. We are ready for them this time, and we plan to have something to say about who our candidates are. Ed Rendell is a party hack, and he can’t stand progressives. Matthews is right up his alley.

1) Matthews doesn’t have the discipline needed for a long campaign. Unless he’s reined in by a team of minders and backers along the lines of the ones that propped up Bush the Younger, he’ll never make it to the primaries, much less the general.

2) Joe Sestak and Ed Rendell got there first, and unlike Matthews they know what they’re doing.

Honestly, I agree with you. I even think I’m closer to thinking that he does know in his heart what is in the common good, but has been trying his best, as an opinionated individual, to keep an open mind. Sometimes we just don’t see these people as torn between their heart and their desire to be objective as journalists.

Tweety has frequently professed a love for politics. Given the paycut he would receive as a Senator, I am inclined to believe him. The question would have to be his capacity for and willingness to understand what is the the common good.
