No, that’s true. I just wish it weren’t necessary.

No disrespect Julia, but you don’t do your daughters an honorable or knowledgeable upbringing if you don’t educated them about what goes on in the REAL world…

Our local paper the Seattle PI posted a picture story on their page 2 items-of-interest with photos section. 2 photos with under printed sentences that haunt me to this day. 3 months later. The photo of 2 so very young Afghan women in the moments before their execution for being prostitutes for the American forces. As according to Taliban Rule.
The words under the first picture of two shrouded women with hands so young it made my heart break said, ” Two Afghan women chat moments before their execution.”
The second picture was of their bodies in the desert, with onlookers, with the statement that although the village protested the young women’s innocence, The Taliban forbid the removal of their bodies.
I was outraged and called the International editor to tell him he had inflicted hell on me with his section. He had no idea what I was talking about. Turned out it was printed for the early morning Northern edition by the B Team on his day off. The vile copy I held in my hand wasn’t even on his computer.
I still wonder…were those words the most heartless words ever printed?!?
Or was it an incredible act of bravery and resistance to create the true scenario for one brief moment.?.
It imprinted my life forever.
Those young women’s hands were SO young. My daughter’s hands. Chatting. Chatting as young women will. Knowing your body was going to lay in the community for days,or, whoever moves it, whoever honors you, would suffer a similar fate. Chatting.

Doode was sentenced for acid in his eyes cuz he poured acid in the eyes of his wanna be girl friend . . . how do you PUNISH a guy, for pouring acid on his girl that spurns him?

My point would be there’s something fucked up with a culture that says you CAN pour acid on women for any reason (in many cases it’s acceptable if yer in fundie Islam Land) . . . . start with that premise, and you gotta kill a lot of sick male people to fix THAT shit.

Cuz you won’t socialize that crap out of a religon or a culture with jobs, employment, or any other means.

It’s been ingrained, for more than a thousand years or more for religon to be used to control the masses by the wealthy.

I got no answers for other cultures.

USA is still dealing with racism and brutality of women issues on our own.

I got no answers for us either, other than to not let it go down if you are present . . . frustrating as hell. Here’s to you, yer knuckles and the varmit kitties . . . hope yer neighbors are fallin in line . . ;-)
