Fear rules wingnuttia and the most fearsome thing to them is always the most important. Therefore Malcom X, who was (in their eyes; they didn’t understand the power of nonviolent demonstrations) more fearsome than MLK, is the more important of the two because the wingnuts were more afraid of him. And we have to take our shoes off before we can get on an airplane, Hispanics are taking over all the good lettuce picking jobs white people ought to have, etc., etc., etc.

And in conclusion: “I LOVES you Ms. Palin!”

Morning! Kristof’s op ed is a must read. Why do we send money to this country that can’t even protect their own?

Happy Thanksgiving, pups! The NYT stable seems to be back from vacation. This morning we have Collins, Cohen and Kristof. Ms. Collins, in “Count Those Blessings,” says sure, this isn’t the absolutely best and brightest holiday season ever. But look at the pluses. Mr. Cohen, in “A Command of the Law,” says he is thankful that the next commander in chief is a constitutional law expert, since what defines the United States is that it is a nation of laws. Mr. Kristof, writing from Meerwala, Pakistan, sends us “Giving Thanks to Heroes.” He says in a culture where women are supposed to be weak, the women in Mukhtar Mai’s shelter in rural Pakistan are indomitable.

http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/

The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got gooey cinnamon rolls just out of the oven, dripping with frosting. Now I’m off to the kitchen to see if I can remember how to make cranberry sauce with fresh cranberries, a lovely large bag of which I found in the market. And creamed onions…. Yummmm….. Have a great Thanksgiving, and we can all be thankful that there are only 54 days of W left.
