In addition to seeing more of Jane have to see more of David Sirota, Christy Hardin Smith, Marcy Wheeler, Greenwald, Thom Hartman and even Ed Shultz. America is tired of the wax dipped ossified celebrity news readers, pundits and bloviators. They all chose poorly and their failures have been exposed for all to see. Enough of celebrity journalism. Gawd I love Jane! She is the perfect representation of the Lefty Blogosphere and our issues.

About Barack….most of us supported other presidential candidates before him and some didn’t really know his actual record. They bought into the MSM’s assertion that he was the most liberal progressive ever in the history of the Senate. So not true. I’m with Jane….he’s not a progressive in terms of the way we think of it. He doesn’t have the fiesty-ness as Dennis Kucinich had and has in forcing the Bush Regime to it’s knees (though, I wished he did!), but Obama will be good for our country, nonetheless, once he’s officially in (he’s already making a difference now). We just have to be on his back each and every day to make sure he doesn’t slip to the right! Keeping Gates on means he doesn’t want much change over in the ME and that is worrisome. Why not a Wesley Clark in there instead?

Okay, going to work. Great job Jane!

She’s the most hawkish D on immigrants. Basically has militarized the interior of AZ, so that driving while brown is reason to be stopped, and any reporting of crime by immigrants (incluing legal, of course, because who can tell the difference) will result in investigation for reasons to deport. So they don’t drive, they don’t report crime. She was in constant touch with Chertoff to get ICE agents to come to do enforcement. She also supports a sheriff who is reponsible (in his own words) of feeding green baloney to jailed immigrants, and under whom several immigrants have died in jail. That’s just a flavor. The whole program will be posted at democracynow.org in a couple of hours.

I agree with all that say that Afghanistan is quicksand. But, what to do? This is where I want to see the U.S. be smart for a change. Read somewhere that we should buy all their poppy for medicinal use. Gives the Afghanis an income, keeps it off the streets, we don’t spend all of our time burning poppy fields and we don’t impoverish the country. That’s not the answer to all of the problems but it made sense and it may be a start. But, Obama can’t believe that we can go in with guns blazing and accomplish much.

Great Job Jane, as always.
A breath of fresh air.

I agree about Obama and centrist. Throughout the primary I was amazed at how many seemed to think he was the most progressive pol to ever come down the pike.
It isn’t difficult to do research and look at records. A simple and quick search of one or two of the non partisan sites that do analysis of Congress makes it pretty clear.
He has been rated as “rank and file” Democrat.

Ironically according to the analysis Hillary Clinton is to the left of Obama. govtrack.us calls her “far left.”

Anyway, great to see you- a refreshing break from the professional hate-mongers and self important opinionators (tech term)that have been a constant source of frustration the last couple of years.

I remember the old Brill’s Content (though I never knew if the title was a declaration of satisfaction or what it contained) that rated the talking heads for accuracy of facts and predictions. And there were a couple of women on the Sunday yakfests who always scored highest. And George Will was always right on the bottom, with that McLaughlin guy or somebody.

Which is all to say, I would choose Rachel and her friends to the exclusion of all the boys and be very satisfied with broadcast news, whereas no combo of the suits would suffice.
