I was of your opinion when she first surfaced but no longer am. Polls on her are really negative except for the Rs. She tried a post-election media blitz to repair her reputation but I think it didn’t work. Like Quayle, who tried hard for four years, she won’t be able to overcome the first impressions.

I notice the video begins with a cooked turkey. I am glad I am a vegetarian. Some turkeys were harmed during the production of THIS video.

She won’t be able to shake those first impressions without demonstrating some substance. So far it’s all been swing and a miss.

My model for predicting human behavior is that they will continue to do what they have already been doing. This model does not work for people whose pattern varies, but Sarah has been very consistent (ditto Quayle).

One of the things about both of them is that they were so obviously clueless – although i got the feeling Quayle wasn’t as stupid as he seemed. I believe she is. But she is very appealing to alot of people. One of the things she had going was she was new and “different.” That’s gone now. Hope her negatives stay high. I can’t remember anybody’s approval numbers turning around so quickly like that.

Reagan was under qualified but reasonably articulate. The comparison to Dubya is fairly apt, except that he had his daddy’s cronies to help get him elected.

Quayle was twice as intelligent as Palin, although still not half bright enough to be president.

This video reminds me of the hoards of white Christian church groups that stood out on street corners holding up signs saying, “We Love You Sarah” and “Yes on 8,” weekend after weekend, in Riverside and Orange counties here in Southern California during the campaign. She definitely has a base that is not going away.

I hope she sticks with it and causes this huge fight within the GOP when primary time comes in 2012. I love watching those white male GOP wanna be president governors seethe as they have to share a stage with her and compete to get press or any traction when she is around. They will pound the pavement for months in Iowa and some have already started, but all Palin will have to do is show up and suck all the oxygen out of their hopes to be the nominee. Republican voters don’t need any substance in their candidates, as long as they parrot the right talking points, they want somebody like Palin that inspires them and tells them it is okay to be their sickening selves. Those folks will still be clinging to their guns and bibles four years from now.

It epitomizes the phrase “being dumbed down”. That is what has happened to a part of our nation…not a lack of intelligence, but a lack of logical and accurate education..in school and in church. People are taught mythology as reality and reality as myth.

That is why it is sad…and when in great masses they are opiated by myth (not that religion is myth..more likely the media …let me make myself clear) but myth of intention and trends in society as the person experiences it…well, it is incredibly dangerous to the entire world, both in our country and in other countries.

You can take Sarah out of the beauty pageant, but you can’t take the beauty pageant out of Sarah. I’ve always said she talks like a beauty contestant that is doing the impromptu question and has to fill three minutes with how to save the world, end poverty, and feed all the poor children.
