I gotta tell ya, this sure doesn’t help my peace of mind:
Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman took another step Tuesday toward mending his relationship with Democrats, saying that Barack Obama’s actions since winning the presidency have been "just about perfect."
"Everything that President-elect Obama has done since election night has been just about perfect, both in terms of a tone and also in terms of the strength of the names that have either been announced or are being discussed to fill his administration," Lieberman said during a visit to Hartford.
Jeez, I can’t think of a more discouraging endorsement. But is he just sucking up to the new boss, or is he acutely aware that there would be no better way to fill us with despair than to suggest that Obama is assembling some kind of Lieberman dream team?
If we were talking about someone with a normally functioning human sense of gratitude, I would bet on option 1… but this is Joe Lieberman.

Lieberman has to play nice for a little while, at least. However, I do not expect him to stay our of trouble for too long. I am not in favor of Lieberman being allowed to hold his chairmanship, but I don’t have a problem with Gates being kept on for a year. Obama will be very busy trying to keep the economy above watera and as long as Gates works on the Obama policy of removing us from Iraq. I am very pleased that Mr. Brennan has removed himself from consideration. He was too dirty with torture and spying blood on his hands.
I don’t think it’s that easy, unfortunately. Unless the organizing resolution specifically makes it possible to remove a chairman fairly easily.

I was sort of considering that it would be a weekly drawing, with the winner and kick televised nationally. Each quarter there would be a vote on style points, and the quarterly winner would be given a free kick… It’s a rough plan so far, but I think it could work!
IT is a good bet that the former Clinton aides who worked for the mediocre Clintons will be capable of goodness and light under Obama. It’s all about who is President.

Lieberman support was always tepid in the state of steady habits. I was pretty sure of that. Remember those who were for Lamont were pretty boisterous with the signs and what not. Those for “Vote Joe” were often pretty tepid, or just rabid republikans, or so-called “friends.”

Remember? JT was talking about the bright line around war crimes. And that Bush wasn’t going to pardon anyone in that scenario because he didn’t think there would be prosecutions. If that’s the case, America is OVAH as a democracy.
