Suzanne!
Hi Suz!!
pups! how is everyone tonight? tis a chilly 42 outside with clear skies (so far) but nice and toasty inside here at the peaceful retreat on the bay.
Digg it Pups!
Digg
which one is the real dig?
never mind
nahant got it
Suz! Dayam, I’m late after responding to larue…! Coises…!
thanks for the diggs and nahant for getting it by a milisecond ahead of neuro
Rumplestilskin….hogenlogenbogen…and?
Suz + Pups there is a special on KQED 9 here in the Bay Area a documentary on Mae West narrated by Dom DeLuise!
Hiya Suz,
Temps around 30 degrees F., and no snow all weekend (very disappointed…) baby boy here with lovely girlfriend.
Hi Suzane, the weather is always fine here in Southern California. We’re supposed to get a “rain storm” on Tuesday whatever that is.
She had a funny name but she wasn’t to blame cause she got it from her father just the same Hogenlogenbogen was her name.
Every millisecond counts… just ask CT!
sounds like those that need to hunker down are hunkering down
I was epu’d and late arriving here…

Why not just HAND the decision to the GOP
Umm, It looks like Obama is handing it to the GOP…
Initial Steps by Obama Suggest a Bipartisan Flair
In the third week of his transition to power, President-elect Barack Obama is working to build a cordial relationship with Republicans by seeking guidance on policy proposals, asking for advice on appointments and hoping to avoid perceptions of political arrogance given the wide margins of his victory.
Where was the bipartisan flair from Shrub?
Much ado about nothing…
Don Pedro, Prince of Aragon and his noblemen are visiting their good friend Leonato in Messina after having quashed the uprising led by Don John, the prince’s half-brother. Among the victors are the misogynistic and witty Benedick, erstwhile flame of Leonato’s equally sharp-tongued and somewhat fierce niece Beatrice (who is something of a misandrist), and Benedick’s “sworn brother” Claudio, a young count. Claudio has been thinking fondly of Leonato’s gentle and lovely daughter Hero ever since before he went to war, and returns to find her as attractive as ever. Don Pedro, learning of his young friend’s feelings, arranges the match, and—in spite of Don John’s cunning efforts to foil their plans—it is agreed that Hero and Claudio will marry in a week’s time. Using the excuse of needing something to pass the time until the wedding day, Don Pedro decides to arrange a similar fate for Beatrice and Benedick. Of course, both parties being such “professed tyrant[s]” to the opposite sex, this match will take a little more ingenuity.
Flair and Shrub??? No that is an oxymoron!
feeling shakespearean tonight bb?
If that is quoted material, please provide a link, if available. Thanks.
Ya left out the best part, Bipartisan…! ;-)
Your wish is my command.
Now you are really going overboard CT :-)
Hola, pups!
Hey, Suzanne!
BTW, Suz, where are you in relation to Astoria, OR?
FunnyD
Now, you boys…
Thus leading to one of The Bard’s snarkiest plays. *grin* I still love that version that was done in the 90s with the allstar cast.
I like to push the envelope…!
Just foolin around on the late night friendly foolishess and monkey business. However any time is great for uncle Will. This was a movie 1933 movie or as they love to wax in Hollywood a sceen play.
Must be that BIG Laser you get to play with(:>)
hey funny – i’m south of astoria, on netarts bay – which is just south of tillamook bay and west of the town of tillamook
It’s the one party system…the aisle has been removed…the distinctions are quite subtle. The change may be faces.
edit: The change may be feces.
I desisted…
McCain and Obama Camps Coordinated on Building Staff Rosters for Next Government
Heh, I do like a few of my critters, Mazie Hirono for one…! Can’t lump her in that category…!
cool. Thanks.
I think I’ve been by there. Tillamook makes really great dairy products.
Anyway, a friend from up here is spending the week at his place in Astoria. Wondered if you might run into each other, but sounds like maybe not.
FunnyD
Truly disheartening, eh? What a load of feces…!
to me this is one more thing that by itself i might not get so up in arms about if it wasn’t part of a large picture i don’t like. there are some that i find outrageous on their face (fisa, biden, bailout), but not sure this is one of them.
or maybe i’m just feeling a bit overwhelmed…
… more importantly, how are you doing ct?
Ashland Oregon has snow skiing and Shakespeare Festival in the summer a must visit while living in Oregon.
Making do, could always be better…! *g*
I thought that was an old bluegrass duo
Actually you may be suffering from a case of underwhelmed with events not reaching “The Hope for Change” expectation you so wanted. So we may soon be on the endangered species list if we still have an EPA which may be moved under homeland security with HoJo in charge. Only the shadow knows.
one day at a time?
Shrub couldn’t tell the difference between blue and Grass.
please tell me the epa / dhs thing is a joke?
One foot at a time?
my fake knee says no skiing for me. i do lodge very well :)
Wasn’t that a sitcom!
actually I heard that robert kennedy jr. was being considered for EPA head.
not Bipartisan™/Clintonian enough to fly?
More or less…
Sipping brandy/wine in front of the fireplace watching all the eye candy saunter by??
Ya’ll are terrible…! ;-)
that’s right, i’d forgotten…. but i don’t remember it being gallows humor.
Fellow dogs I would like to say that we had a successful Town Hall Meeting despite sabatoge attmpts, The purpose was to expose the County’s $181 million dollar sewer plan for our town as a $100,000,000.00 fraud which we did.
that would be great. a nomination i could celebrate.
Details details!!
Congrats, bb! Nice to see civic action actually produce a positive result…!
booyah! good work bb
Ric Flair and Shrub – make his heart go pitty pat.
yes!
congrats!
love the good news that is not spin / lipstick on a pig / etc.
yes please, details would be lovely.
A venture into the rediculous from the sublime the contorted process we call representative government has brought us many wierd turs of events. It is my view that the bailouts are an attempt to bankrupt the federal government so Obama is unable to produce change. Not meant as a joke but a belief we will see more incredulous events.
By the way without a carbon tax we will have change but unfortunately it will be climate. SNARK
Details!
robert reich says:
Well they are being very successful any more successful and we will soon here about cities going bankrupt.
That would be most excellent as he has sued them while Director of The National Resources Defense Council to giddiup their EDSAP (endocrine disruptor chemical listing program)
I read that too any word on restrictions on CEO bonuses, dividends being canceled for shareholders, a 20 billion dollar stake in the company is one thing do we get any seats on the board?
Will the CEO give back last years bonus?
silly me. i thought the effort to induce a global depression (while looting as much as possible on the way down) was the short sighted elite response to climate change – demand destruction in order to reduce energy use and production of greenhouse gases.
Hooray for your team, BB! That’s great!
FunnyD
And the Big three can’t get chump change of $25 Billion…. Sure tells the story of the Rich bankers have this administration in it’s back pocket!! The rest of us be damned… we can eat feces as far as they are concerned. And they keep claiming there is no CLASS WARFARE going on! Bullshit!
great news bigbrother but watch out for the pushback
is the deal really dead or will it rear back to bite you?
we can’t give money to car companies, some of it might actually end up in the hands of unionized workers
golden parachutes for CEOs though, that’s another story
Wait a sec…
BigBrother, you’re not in Los Osos, CA are you?
FunnyD
lol – did you listen (or read the notes on) to that conference call between treasury and 800 of their closest the weekend before the bailout bill vote by congress?
based on recent history, i’m going to guess the answer is “no”
the bad guys want to break the car companies so they will go into bankruptcy and cancel the pensions and healthcare for retired rank and file workers.
u betcha’
Now if only the MSM will pick up the story Citigroup is how many jobs vs the big three? The big three have been asking for months the Citigroup bailout story I think came out this week.
the folks wanting to break the car companies forget that there are a lot of banks and mutual funds holding loans, stocks, etc. the ripple down effect will be very ugly and will impact even the rich.
oh, and break the unions once and for all.
is it warfare if one side doesn’t fight back?
can you imagine the further insult it would be to the real estate market? some of those workers hold pretty good (middle class) jobs, and some of them live in pretty good (middle class) houses. how many could make their mortgage payments if they are put out of work?
just one of many ripple effects
Citigroup seems to be taking about half the total bailout money funny how this news did not hit until after the election. I bet Paulson will ask for more money soon there are other banks in trouble.
We are fighting back the Dems in Congress not so much, call it only half of one side is fighting back.
No prob. bail out those banks and mutual funds. More than one way to skin a moose, also.
I’m bored….my governor hasn’t fucked up in almost 72 hours.
how many small bank failures have there been since september? 20something is my best recollection but that could be wrong. how many small bank failures does it take to equal one big bank failure?
Thank you to Ronald Regan for staring all this Union breaking.. It has been open season ever since by the Repubics. Once they get Unions outlawed they can really pay the worker bees what they want to $1.25 an hour or less, that way there would be mass starvation and then less people which in turn means less pollution as the dead don’t need to heat their homes and aren’t going any where!
jeffery sachs called it cascading failures when he testified to congress last week if they let gm go down the were risking a global depression – not recession. he begged them not to do that. i’ve thought that sachs was a mild version of the neoliberal set, but he sounded downright socialist. shocking.
hahahahaha
hey et – how’s it up your way?
could we put some lipstick on that please?
Is that a new record ET?
We had 4500 lovely mailors designed and printed inviting each property owner to come and see our sewer contractor’s affordable estimates which were about $100 million less than Carollo Engineering projected as the cost.
The USPO did not deliver to the addressess..we were out $2,000.00 and a lot of guest. We still filled the hall as we has a PR campaign of letter to editor, viewpoints, as in the local weekly, 4′x8′road signs yard signs, sanwich boars, posters and flyers. We had quote estimates from three other collection sytems and a very good pond treatent system. Our BOS chair was there taking notes as well as BOS elect. It was a lovely evening with great food, keg of Sierra Nevada Anniverary etc and music by the young “Honey Guide” quite a charming layed back band. Cosponsored by Surfriders, Coalition for Low Income hOusing and Citizens for Affordable and Safe Environment.
Had great color posters of the different technologies and the presenters were thrilled with all the questions from 6 to 7 as they tabled data. We filmed it for rebroadcast and plan to picket the county building and get some MSM coverage. The battle had been on 30 years. We won’t roll over.
The GOP doesn’t seem to know that they seem willing to risk breaking the economy to bring Obama down, the unions down etc.
Someone big has to fall the government can’t bailout. Citigroup took all the cash so the next big guy to fall might be the log that breaks the camel’s back.
Either that or holiday shopping numbers might do it.
how can you be sure?
that’s the term – cascading failures. thanks
Things will be all better when we only have one big bank.
Whoda guessed it?
$100 million less thats a lot of pork for a county project even Bush would be impressed.
CR says 22.
We truly need to! Start by taxing any income over a million at 98% Including all those capital gains… it is bullshit that capital gains are taxed at 15%… shit it is income is income. Why should capital gains get preferential treatment over income earned by actual productive work??
keg of Sierra Nevada Anniverary? you all know how to throw a town hall meeting!
sachs’ term. me, i don’t have the vocabulary so i just say “we’re so fucked” or the like *g*
no shit – bb knows how to throw a party for sure
And where are you?
I think she’s just been staying at home for the weekend.
Hiya, suzanne & nahant. Hey, Suzanne, ET Jr drove through Tillamook Friday, going between Arcata CA and Seattle, for the Thanksgiving break.
That’s a pretty awesome version of Chameleon!
tis a term that describes what i’ve been thinking in my head – how one failure leads to more failures until critical mass is reached – and then it only takes one little fail to bring down everything.
hey et – thanks for noticing the music – i thought it was pretty special myself but its nice to have that confirmed.
if i wudda known, i wudda waved as he drove by
Why didn’t the PO deliver your mailers?
I like Jeff hope Obama hires him. Cascading failures 20% unemployment in the Midwest the GOP could right off getting the White House.
If Toyota and Honda and Nissan and Mazda etc can’t get parts because the big three going under puts them out of business then all those red state jobs will disappear the Japanese will have to ship parts in from Japan.
Unless the GOP decides to bailout the parts suppliers. The big three buy parts on credit they account for about half the cars made here so the cost to just save the parts suppliers would be huge.
That and I’m sure the Midwestern states will treat a bailout to save red state jobs with the same scorn the red states are showing Detroit.
With the Midwest facing 20% unemployment using government cash to save red state jobs would be political suicide for Dems and GOP in the Midwest.
like an avalanche?
That should be a talking point our talking heads use on the news. Too many of them are still not doing the homework they need to on this issue. They keep letting the GOP get away with some rather obvious lies.
The business/economic blogs are covering this much better than the business channels are.
yeap, eventually, impacting every man, woman and child in the land.
I shall call it an early one tonite! I bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
aloha ct
campaign contributions? cushy jobs for aides and congress critters when they cycle out of gov. work for a spell?
Its good music but it never gets to the radio. When you consider that a large part of our economy is from the entertainment industry we should break up the big radio companies and encourage diverse programing to keep our artistic edge.
That and it would hurt the corporate media’s attempt to control politics by flooding the airwaves with right wing talk show hosts.
Nite CT
nite ct.
think i’m going to try to sleep again too. thanks for the music suzanne and thanks all for the conversation.
Because *cough* trickle down economics rich people spending creates sooo many jobs? The Bush years have sure nailed that coffin shut.
Nite Selise
If did do that the treasury would have the money se we could get single payer health care, which would lower the cost of it as the middle men would no longer get their cut. Our roads and bridges could be brought up to snuff and we could invest heavily in alternative energy sources and I don’t mean bio diesel, ethanol or any of that carbon emitting crap. Real Alternative sources such as yes Solar, wind, tide and many other forms.
g’nite selise
Nite Tuttle sleep well out their in God’s other country!
Good to see ya at the late late nite Selise… Sleep well!
Bush has been awful quiet lately I wonder when he will try and make news again?
Will it be another war an attack on Iran when Congress is on Thanksgiving or Christmas break?
An attack on Obama’s policies some we must defend free markets nonsense save the banks, unions die tripe?
Or will it be an attempt to establish a Legacy somehow?
ET said, “I think she’s just been staying at home for the weekend.”
Oh, collecting some of that per diem, eh? *wink*
If we’re lucky, next news from him will be in the form of an address change notice.
trying to think of who else to blame for the turkey of a turkey pardon?
Disposable income is what makes the economy hum. However you do it. A disproportianate wealth in the hands of a few drive the consumption down. Whatever jobs get a paycheck to everyone regulate and have a reasonable economy with less domestic violence and crime. Everyone needs medical care.
We are trying to get to the bottom of that. The Post master assurred me it would be delivered despite some wrong names on correct addresses.
A bit of levity!
We have an early tide tomorrow so…sue sue sue ya and thanks for your time.
g’nite bb
nite BB… happy rowing!!
I’ve been looking for an article to turn up somewhere about another governor that pardons turkeys. Has anyone here seen or read anything on any other governor that is currently doing it?
she was the first i had ever heard of doing so et
I want to know what kind of cars the big three will make before we give them the money to retool. They have good designs even a mild hybrid system that stops your car engine when you hit the brakes and idle in traffic can save 2, 3% on your Miles Per Gallon or more if you do a lot of city driving.
They could put that on every gas engine car, truck van and minivan etc they make it does not take up to much room and I think would only add a few thousand to the price of a car.
Price should go down if we mass produce it for every car. Diesels engines I’m not sure it would work still every little bit helps.
http://www.autoblog.com/2008/0…..-with-toy/
GM sold over 9 million cars in 2007 lets round up to 10 million if we include Ford and Chrysler lets assume a once every two weeks gas fill up 52 wks in a year divide by 2 thats 26 fillups.
Assume a 10 gallon tank 10*26 =260
260 gallons at 3 a gallon = $780
figure in 3% worth of savings $23.40 a year
Not much huh? Now take that $23.40 * 10 million I’m getting $234,000,000 million dollars staying in American pockets to help our economy EVERY YEAR.
Thats $234,000,000 not going to al Quieda.
And this is the cheapest simplest tech to install we can put this in every gas engine car there should be room under the hood, I think if not just stop making that line of cars.
That’s peculiar and unfortunate. But sounds like you had a great event. Congrats.
Your an Optimist:) I hope your right.
Nite BB
Google doesn’t have any links to no other but it sure does have lots of links to Sarah and the turkey she pulled!
TCU all that math makes my head spin… But it looks like a savings to me! Them there middle easterners won’t like it though(:>))
nor the neo-cons.

g’nite everyone!
g’nite teddy
I did read you post over at your house and it sure seems it was set up by her so that the turkey butchering would be in the background.
nite Teddy your post earlier was great!
I have not. I know Bush does it, though.
maybe you could come up with a list of “turkeys” she has pardoned…people convicted of crimes who didn’t deserve a pardon? R politicians, whatever?
as far as i can remember, it was only a presidential thang.
I want the middle east and the neocons to be unhappy the middle east could have pumped more oil in exchange for us helping them with Iraq after all if we left them alone Saddam would have invaded as soon as he felt safe.
The neocons promised us cheap oil too lets show then now what a couple of
hillbillesbloggers can do about getting America cheaper oil our way without losing a single American life.(”what a couple of hillbillies can do” is a comment made before what Guthrie Song?)
Bonus points people!
