Morning BT
Early in this campaign I had supported Richardson. I would have liked to see him as SoS and thought he could have done a great deal to improve elationships with South America after eight years of being ignored. At this point about the only plumb position for him would be Energy.

Conservatives fear the fairness doctrine’s return because they know that they can only compete in the marketplace of ideas when their’s are the only ideas presented.

I hope Mukasey was contemplating how many of his Federalist Society thugs were going to be indicted along with him when this happened.

Return of the Fairness Doctrine and the break of media monopolies will be the end of right wing propaganda and the fascists and their sympathizers know it. They will fight with everything they have to preserve their complete domination. Will the Democratic led Congress take them on?

While I am in favor of “Fairness” I don’t think the fairness doctrine will get us where we need to go. I would like to see a mandated ombudsman that challenges the BS the next time that the offending show is on the air. One that could eventually drive the BSers off of the air.

A majority in the room had to be shaking in their pants. Their firewall crumbled.

Still, I wish Mukasey a prompt recovery.

Funny you refer to the ‘Market Place’. Isn’t it the ‘Market Place’ that forced it into Ch 11 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_America_Radio as it was cranking out a wopping 1.5 million listeners/wk. Compare that to say Rush who gets 20-25 million per week, can see why the market place reacted the way it did.

Re: Mukasey

There was a similar incident at my son’s HS graduation, when the headmaster collapsed at the podium. As it was a Manhattan private school, there were tons of doctors in the audience, and, luckily it turned out to be only dehydration & heat stroke, so he actually recovered on the spot. While he didn’t finish his speech, he did reappear at the podium so we all knew he was OK.

But it was very scarey.

Somehow I can bet with a high amount of accuracy that if the tables were turned, liberals would be screaming free speech violation and have the ACLU filing law suits all over the place.

Speaking of the ACLU, their reps were interviewed on the use of Ohio State offices to try and find something on ‘Joe the Plumber’. Why were they not jumping all over this? Things like this should scare the hell out of anyone regardless of their political affiliation.

Gotta admit the Palin interviewer should have probably panned to the left a little bit, and at the very least cut the guy in the background out. Then again, it is good for people to know where their food comes from. So may people think meat just comes in plastic wrap that mysteriously makes it to the store.

completely OT, but:

i would love someone to explain why “The Big Three” did not arrive in Washington DC with Their Plan to review upon request? that strikes me as a very basic readiness step in their Request4Handout process. it seems, in such dire circumstances, Their Plan would be necessary regardless of their fundraising success.

wondering,

I only saw the Senate hearing but when asked how much each firm needed none of the B3B could come up with a firm figure or how they arrived at the figure. One Senator commented he thought they threw a dart at figures on the wall.

While my first response was concern for Mukasey, and I hope he doesn’t have serious problems, my second thought shows how cynical I’ve become. I thought it likely that they’re faking this, maybe he was drugged, to keep him out of the loop while some indisputably illegal activities take place–something that he just wouldn’t have the stomach for.

I’ve seen enough.

After fighting for two years to try again -one last time - to correct the wrongs of not only our broken policied paths but those enablers in the Democratic party who bent over to join with Bush or were too weak tost and alone in opposition, I’m disgusted to the hilt today with news almost guaranteeing Hillary gets SOS.

It’s almost as if Obama has been convinced that everything said on FOX was true: that it was just sexism and extremism and revenge that drove most of us away from her and Lieberman. And therefore we’re dangerous and should be shunned.

I fought against Clinton, Lieberman, Emanuel, Hoyer and Reid solely because of their ideals, of who they are and the roles they played in Congress. How at their hands, they’ve demeaned and undermined the importance of a second party, making Democrats the new 98 lb weaklings, the laughing stock of Congress.

That entire group of insiders, the very target of Obama’s campaign, were all -not one or two of them -ALL of them- just given more power, pay raises and..cover by Obama.
They represent everything the Democratic party should NOT stand for. Policies that are hard-line, pro-business, pro-war, pro-cluster bomb, anti-Arab and plain deceitful. Like the Iraqi share the oil bill pushed by Hoyer, that actually strips control of the oil away from Iraq. Had that passed, you’re kids won’t have AlQaeda to worry about. It will be nationlists everywhere angry at being conned and lied to by American lawmakers.

Well, great fu**ing job Obama.
Fool me once, and I’m done.
Good luck in 2110, because not one Democrat will I ever vote for again.
