I sort of hate the idea of any Republikan apparatchnik in the Obama adminstration. Hagel may have bucked the party on Iraq, but for the most part I think a look at the voting record would read like a good apparatchnik.

We have made a lot of excuses for the dem party. I bought that back when I thought they were saving all the fire for to combat supreme court nominations. I lost my faith with Alito and the gang of 14. Not completely lost my faith. But I am always wary of any excuse.
