Morning BT and all.
I have been wondering what a Clinton administration would have looked like.
Good morning.
Oh joy, Hucksterbe’s on WJ.
Do you think it would be any different from the one O is rumored to be putting together?
A Clinton Administration would have looked very much like what the Obama Administration is shaping up to be. Same deck of cards just a new shuffle.
Other than Clinton preparing for coronation instead of Obama I can’t see what would be different.
That’s what I thought your point was.
Yesterday’s typo started: Sexby
which encountered: Handbliss
which may have broke the thread
good thing: Republican Wanker
wasn’t used. ;-)
Did they all get together at a R Wank Tank?
After yesterday’s misery, the one bright piece of news is that there will be *two* less PsOS in the incoming senate: stevens AND palin.
Got a question for everyone about posting.
Is there any protocol about pasting comments by a reader at another site into your own work?
Obi is a politician and he speaks with forked tongue I suspect.
The people want change not musical chairs. Stop with the dumb children’s games and act like a grown up.
The people did not ask for bi partisanship or an end to bickering in the beltway. They asked for a clean sweep and change the system. Get it?
This was not a mandate for the same old same old or the rise of the loser democrats over the worse republicans.
Of course that would be with attribution to the site and the reader.
democracynow is doing a rundown on Eric Holder, stressing his work for Chiquita.
I am stunned at the various stories on Short Ride Joe and the Senate Dems that contain some version of “Gosh, Joe will never dare step out of line again after this close call” and “This insures that Joe will support the Dems on all the big votes for the next two years.”
How in the world does any thinking reporter and/or politician come to those conclusions?
Oh joy, US is now launching missiles into Pakistan outside the tribal area.
eCAHNomics, do you have a source?
That’s what the D powers-that-be told them to write. And even after Joe resumes his work against the Ds, the media will portray every incident as an exception.
Amy Goodman just announced it on democracynow. Their headlines don’t go up until a bit later. I’ll see if I can find it elsewhere.
IIRC there are rules for that at Oxdown home page
All I have been hearing over the last few days is bitching. I just have to say, how sad. Did we not get Obama elected? Does that not mean we can get anything done? Does it not mean that we can get who we want elected to accomplish whatever it is we think important? I say yes we can! Obama didn’t get it done, we did. I say we can get it done again. It is up to us, as it always has been. If we work together we can accomplish anything!
Where did this thinking thing come from?
I do with attribution
Afghanistan = the new Irak
Pakistan = the new Iran
Wingnuttia is already starting to go crazy over this. By tomorrow it will probably be Obama’s fault

Maybew this? My knowledge of the geography of Pakistan is not great.

Chuck Todd brings up Jane’s name - says that she was on a conference call with Howard Dean yesterday.
Jane’s was the first he brought up when asked about the blogosphere’s reaction to the Lieberman debacle…..
Can we get rid of the MSM’s bobbleheads”
Cokie, Kritol, Rush, Savage, Hannity, Barone, the list is endless
Was Todd on the call, or did he read her post?
Morning!
did you watch NOVA last night? Was a very interesting program.
Where in wingnuttia is this getting reactions? names only, you don’t have to stoop so low as to link.
Kristol, Rush, Savage, Hannity and Barone will blow themselves up. At the end of the day the winners take something, the losers just bitch, and bitch and bitch. Their listners become less, and less and less interested in what they have to say if it is not a winning strategy. People want to be part of the WINNERS. this is a fact. That is why Obama is letting some of the losers think they have a chance with the winning team. Lull your enemies into a sense of false security. Let folks believe that have something new to believe in…
dunno - but whatever his info, he still felt free to describe Jane and the other bloggers’ feelings and reaction to the decision as “not so much angry, but a ‘we’ll sit back and wait for the I told you so’ moment”.
I think Chuck’s fulla shit, but that’s what he said, fwiw.
Not sure what you were wanting does this work

it sure would be nice to have some fresh brains behind the running mouths on teeVee
yes thanks
funny that, was funded by a slew of foundations run by Jewish Americans, not hardly our government.
reply to mike
Cornel West is on democracynow & is saying that Obama is appointing the same old faces because as an outsider, Obama is looking to make the existing power structure comfortable. As a result, the progressives will have to organize from the bottom up to pressure Obama.
Who was that substitute for Rachel last night? I am not familiar with her. Be nice if she could give Jane a crack at it.
And it isn’t like there isn’t an abundance of good progressive brains out there……..dog forbid corporate media would expose the public to something that passes for intelligence. :-(((
the Charlie Rose Show is my favorite show on television. Would not appreciate anyone suggesting that Public Broadcasting should be sent under, I would like to personally face anyone who would suggest such a thing. Just because someone says something we don’t like doesn’t mean we should ax their television show. You can’t please all of the people all of the time….
What’s the story wrt absence of both Olbermann and Maddow for two days straight?
I don’t know the answer for sure, but suspect they’re just on vacation after all the extra work they did during the election.
Vacation.
Who was that substitute for Rachel last night? I am not familiar with her. Be nice if she could give Jane a crack at it.
That was Allison Stewart, who used to be the regular stand-in for Olbermann whenever he took a few days off. Pre-Rachel.
I agree with you except on PBS I prefer Bill Moyers Journal.
Sorry, my 43 was for you.
yes, Jane is good on teeVee.
So what is ‘Sloopy Joe’ LIEberman?..an Indy, A Dem, or what we most agree on an evil traitor asshat?
Mornin’, sophie. What was the Buddhist chant you posted a while back? I’ve lost it somehow.
eCAHN & oldnslow -
Ta! Gotta head out for errands; catch up with y’all later.
Bottom up organizers…I have lots of pitchforks!
I love Bill Moyers Journel, but Charlie Rose has more that is “creative” on his show. Art, Architecture, Literature, Film, History, Science, Health, Music - Classical, Jazz, Opera, Hip Hop, Rock, etc, etc. Charlie may be a little right wing, but he supports a lot of left wing creativity and beauty….
Nam Myho Renge Kyo. Namaste.
I liked that West was critical of Obama. Our feedback might not matter, but West has a better shot at it.
G’morning everyone. Today is Day One of the Franken/Coleman recount in MN. All hands on deck! If you believe in Franken, clap your hands! (h/t Peter Pan)
Thank you.
Namaste
It wishes you everlasting peace and knowledge, and enlightenment.
As do I.
*clap clap*
My goal for 2010 is to dump Bill Nelson (FL) and Bill Young, who is probably going to retire anyhoo. Martinez in 2012.
So does that make you a Bill collector?
I remember that but my old machine died and I couldn’t for the life of me remember the Sanskrit and SGI has a nice little piece on it. Needed the chant to get back to SGI. Senior moments.
In a weird sort of way.
Juan Cole at Informed Comment has posted the McClatchy translated SOFA, FWIW
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/hom.....56116.html
I read four books written by SGI and came up with my “nutshell” translation of everlasting peace, knowledge and enlightenment. They don’t give an “exact” translatiion on their own. But then again who am I to translate for them, just the best I got from it/them…
Mitch McConnell’s Undisclosed Location
EW’s up
Thanks for the head up. In the process of preparing for a class and so had to run off.
Have you read any of Alan Watts’ books on Buddhism? Or D T Suzuki’s works on Zen Buddhism?
FWIW, the SOFA still has to be approved by the Iraqi parliament before the end of the year. If it does not pass, things get interesting. Bush et al haven’t any paper to cover their (better) parts, it becomes war crimes time for every day they remain in Iraq until Obama assumes office. Then times get even more interesting if agreement to withdraw isn’t forthcoming, the same war crimes become Obama’s baby as well.
plus she just put up a post on the Mittster
Shorter Mitt: Let the Auto Retirees Starve!!!
Not certain of the authors names, but I have read many books on Buddhism and Zen Buddhism as well. There is much grace to be found…
…and wisdom.
wisdom is my hope and what I live to achieve….

Winnie is such a cool bear…
Me too.
I remember that. Very cool.
Very cool, or tao as you would have it…
but are you more or a Tigger, or an Eyore?
supposed to read, “but are you more of a Tigger or an Eyore?
Highest good is like water. Because water excels in benefiting the myriad creatures without contending with them and settles where none would like to be, it comes close to the way.
Tao Te Ching, Book One, VIII, 20
I haven’t read that stuff in years. I’d have to go back and reread them.
water is like taking the path of least resistance…
water is not “like” but “is” taking the path of least resistance, for water will find its way, always…
And by doing so overcomes all obstacles. Tao is, to me, a lifetime of study.
thought water was more like the flow of things
thanks elliot! i got confused by marcy’s post at the top of the page. (more at oxdown for you). i should just email you when i put up a post. thanks again!
aw, you are truely wise..
This is fun but I gotta go to work.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
study the path of water, it is the flow of things, and always takes the path of least resistance….
Namaste.
thanks,
away myself, all the best…….
About the CT Democrats article. There’s a lot of willy-nilly there as well. Lieberman actually held hands with Nancy Johnson, called Chris Shays a “national treasure,” and was probably part of that group that played the nauseating non-stop propaganda ads targeted against Chris Murphy and Joe Courtney. The leadership sucks here. Minding Joe, will only cause more of a split in the party.

morning mui,
Shays a National Treasure
hahahahaha!
When you think of Clinton as SOS and not some one more interested in the welfare of all the planets children, tell your own children, in the future, that Obama made this appointment after Gaza went dark.
Morning.
And down the toobz!
—–On Lieberman: Quotables
Via Hartford Courant:
“Clearly, Joe has a long ways to go in rebuilding a real working relationship of trust,” said former state Senate Majority Leader George Jepsen. “I think he’s pretty much written Connecticut Democrats off. I think he’s mostly concerned with his relationships down in D.C.”
And
That’s not quite good enough for Myrna Watanabe, one of the members of the Connecticut Democratic central committee that has called for Lieberman to leave the Democratic Party — of which he’s still a registered member. She was unimpressed with Tuesday’s Senate action.
“It’s nothing. He didn’t even get his hand slapped,” Watanabe said. The Senate’s decision was political pragmatism, she argued, but it hasn’t changed her mind about the resolution of censure that she and another member are pushing at a Dec. 17 committee meeting.
“The bottom line,” she said, “is Joe is useless to us as Democrats in the state of Connecticut.”
If we don’t get rid of him, he’ll continue to undermine the CT state dems.
