Hey!
Suz!
Neuro!
hey pups – how is everyone tonight?
Suz!
Three cheers for Senator Elect Begich. Lumps of coal for the thousands of Alaskans who still voted for convicted felon Senator Ted Stevens.
And I love how Rachael Maddow always uses the “convicted felon” tag.
FunnyD
Digg it!
I am going to New Orleans for thanksgiving. We are all going to surprise my mom. It is her 80th birthday and my parents’ 60th wedding anniversary. Lordie.
Hey, Newt.
I’m getting sleepy and the Kitty is getting hungry for night-time snack. He’s not too interested in walk-about; it’s really chilly tonight.
FunnyD
Hey, Mary. Sounds like fun. Lordy, indeed! Have extra fun for me…I’m staying in town and working a half day (at least).
FunnyD
Yea! I agree, FD. Love that, “convicted felon” tag. Bye, Ted.
Bye, Ted
don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya!
That was a reply to CE at #10
how sweet! hi (((mary)))
Hey Diva! And hi Chris!
And I’m not commenting on the weather. You will all get mad.
Oh that’s great — who doesn’t love a surprise party, especially at 80!
thanks for opening the digg neuro
Dugg your Digg Neuro! Nice tune Suz:>0)
how wonderful mary mcc
thanks nahant – i love her voice – it is so haunting in this cover
How Cool Mary hope you pull off the surprise for your mom. seems they get harder to surprise the older they get.
what absolutely awesome music – that girl can belt it out. hi suz and thanks.
i’m in funk – my computer wouldn’t open yesterday, today it did. i hope it lasts til tomorrow when i will hopefully be able to save my stuff. i feel so VERY helpless around this kind of stuff.
Hey Friends,
Just swimming by before I leave work to let you know that I have an oxdown diary up about my presentation on stopping torture as the law, policy and practice of the United States, at Harvard Law School this coming Monday, between Noon and 1 pm. Any of you in the Boston or New England area are cordially invited.
Hugs,
For Dan,
Heather
I agree I had never heard her before. She sure has a nice voice.
Not me, Newt…! Do tell…! ;-)
Hi everyone!
Great music, Suz. I really needed this. What a voice she has.
(((greenwarrior)))
good luck with the wee electronic beastie.
Lovely to see all you pups, but I’m off to beddy-byes before I catch a second wind and stay up all night…

fingers and toes crossed for your pooter gw
here’s some more susan, rock me right
heather, ya gotta link to your diary?
Hey Newt,
In fact, I am loving the snow. It makes me think of my little family and winter holidays. AND, my two adult children who are coming home for Thanksgiving. I’m in the process of letting eight years of anger go (bye Bush), and want to have a wild holiday. And listen to lots of traditional Irish/Scottish music too!
Wish I could! But do say hello to my home town for me Chacounne and I sure hope you get a rousing applause for your talk on the need to end Torture by/in this country once and for all. Torture has no place in a democracy none whats soever!
g’nite diva. and thanks for the hug – it helps. sleep well.
Heather, that’s great! Really, really great!
Knock ‘em dead and give us a full report afterward!
XXOO
FunnyD
another susan factoid – she’s married to derek trucks – whom some of you may be familiar with
g’nite funnyd
Way.To.Go.
Have a good night, Heather.
Compared to HI, it would be embarrassing.

thanks suz
However, there’s snow atop the mountain and I’m gonna be up there tomorrow and Friday nite… Picked up my thermal undies today…! ;-)
way kewl – what kind didja get?
we are supposed to get rain starting early thur morning but it may be another sunshiney weekend
Christine, I have been listening to Celtic music lately, didn’t realize I liked it, just kind of snuck up on me. Any recommendations?
What’s on my mind tonight?
A blog I wrote today over at Oxdown Gazette made the top ten! Mustabeen a slow news day. perris and I had the same idea at the same time– he posted a minute after I did, and RevDeb beat us both with a comment here at the Mothership. But nevermind!
I updated 3 times, and was going to update a 4th time, but by that time my blog was closed to further edits. Has anyone seen the exact wording of the Cheney indictment yet?
Bob in HI
Cotton, from Sears…! Nothing fancy for now…! ;-)
You bet! Phil Cunningham for starters! More later…
it’ll do. remember, layering is the secret to staying warm. i used to wear the cheap cottons under my uniform – it was at the pd i learned about them hand warmers and heavy duty socks.
Electric I hope for your thin blood!
Phil and his brother Johnny (now deceased) put out an album titled “Relativity” it is fantastic. Out to seek…
Thin blood? I was born in Northern Canada…! 8-P
I did not know of Susan Tedeschi. Nice selection, Suzanne. I had to go and read about and listen to her. Here’s another that I found.
Irish Rovers, Celtic Women, Clancy Brothers! I will look at our collection and get you more a bit later Neuro..
i’ve not seem them online yet – i checked ew and she does not have them up. i haven’t checked non-fdl sites but if they are available, they may be up over at jerilyn’s or other legal blogs.
http://www.emusic.com/album/Re…..62503.html
Not quite sure how to use this site…
But CT you HAVE been living in the tropics and your blood does thin!! I know remember I come from Boston! So I know! Where 20’s felt kinda cold now anything in the forties seems cold..
another great cover. she has a voice for the blues, all dusky and sultry and she sure can wail. i sure wish there was an fdl quality video for this song
Wow, it does play each tract.
Heh, the 50’s are cold…! ;-)
Hot damn Suze, Susan Tedeschi could sell me Ice on a glacier.
Nice find!
Phil Cunningham, Connie Dover, Andy M. Stewart, Aly Bain, John McCusker.
on cold nights, the wimpy fundy ex would put on two pair of the cottens then put on his wool uniform.
thanks busted – she’s pretty forking awesome and plays some mean guitar to boot
Here in Honolulu the newspaper weather report online currently sez 75 degrees that feels like 71, going down to maybe 69 tonight. Hawaiians consider that to be “winter” temperatures. I wore a long sleeve shirt today over my Hawaiian shirt to keep warm. It’s been cloudy and windy. Hawaiians are liable to complain of the cold on a day like today.
Bob in HI
I know that it is late, anyone here?
thanks, Chris and nahant. I have bookmarked that Relativity site and will listen at my leasure. Most of what I have been listening to is perhaps more modern than traditional…Celtic Circle I and II, Celtic Woman, The High Kings, The Chieftans, Van Morrison, Loreena McKennett…right now, listening to Enya’s new one…but would like to get more familiar with the roots that this music came from
Oh, if you haven’t heard of Susan Tedeschi, you need to get yourself to Youtube right freakin’ now!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXaGQ15aFZk
yeap
Uh yeah! Just watching repeat Boston Legal… Christine!
here is susan and hubby derek … bound to get your toes tappin
Phil Cunningham is still our all time favorite. He is a master. Look up Silly Wizard too, from the 1980’s. Phil is a teacher in Edinburgh, and a master musician.
thanks, I will do that
Make sure you check out The Bells of Dublin by the Chieftains… great holiday CD! One of the ones I like! My sweetie goes into Christmas mode right after Thanksgiving and and plays all kinds of holiday music constantly… I go hide in our bedroom and get on the puter…
I am already having to change my shirt from droolin’ on myself!
I see there is a lot of Phil Cunningham on YouTube. That should keep me listening for quite a while. You want to go there and select one, Chris?
You will have to excuse me for a bit….
she sure plays some hot licks
Hey Chris, I got lost in YouTubes.
A mixed bag here in Hilo, a lot of rain this morning with some serious gusts, then this afternoon was bright and sunny, now it’s back to rain and a bit nippy this evening…!
Sorry, Suzanne, work called.
Here’s the link:

I’m truly on my way home now,
Have a restful sleep and an inspiring day !
Hugs,
Heather
This could be one..

g’nite and thanks and fingers and toes crossed you are well received at harvard law
Aloha, Heather! And good luck on your presentation! 8-)
Hiya Margot,
There is a lot to be lost in. I’m trying to find Phil Cunningham songs.
ET here, on my other laptop that gives me this weird name….
My family’s 3,000 hours volunteering for Alaska Democrats finally got a little, sweet justice today.
GO, MARK, GO!
jane warned me that utubes are very easy to lose time in when i got off dialup. i swear, i think i’ve been there for only 10 minutes and it turns out to be more than a forking hour.
cartoon youtubes seem to be especially devious in their ability to hook me in
*standing on chair clapping*
some very good news on an otherwise fucked day et
very nice work
I haz to go feed the cats now.
yeah, that’s the ticket….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=related
Gnite y’all.
Congratulations ET on your good work and your new senator
yeah
sure
right
(laughing)
g’nite busted
Yes Go Mark Go
Gotta make you feel good ET knowing that Stevens is gone and gone for good! Now you need to get more Progressive Dems into office next cycle!
fuck – was that jane’s harriet video i just saw flashed on the daily show?
weird day in the lame duck session, weird day at work, but for completely different reasons.
I’m so happy that Ted finally got the birthday present he deserves. Begich had to deal with a contentious Anchorage Assembly meeting tonight, where the members are fighting over the rump of his term as mayor. I just got back from a rehearsal that turned into total farce, so I’m in a lousy mood. Sorry….
Yep. That Hamsher chick is everywhere!
i woke up to the news that the d’s caved on hojo – before i had my coffee – i’ve been in a lousy mood ever since et.
I’m predicting Begich will be in the top third of Democrats, in regard to bewing progressive. You have to realize that you can’t even get elected dogcatcher here unless you’re in favor of opening ANWR for oil development.
Young’s energy and excitement about the fight of his life surprised many, including me. Ethan Berkowitz’s wan, almost non-existent campaign bwetween the primary and the general surprised many Democrats, but not me.
I have a friend who uses that site. I’ll send you info.
I can understand the ANWR thing, but I do hope the rest of his agenda is progressive, we need that in the Senate!
Awesome job, ET! And the Tellers…! ;-)
i hope you are correct et – and that he does not fall victim to the pitfalls of dc.
Yeah, Reid and forty one other weasel bastards pissed me off today but learning that Darth and Abu got indicted in Texas for organised crime and assault made my fucking day.
OK, Gnite you nice folks, I’m done, cats are fed and I have clean clothes. Tomorrow is another day to use the powder these idiots have been keeping dry for eight years.
Pass The Ammunition…
And yet…
There Harry the invertebrate stood, flanked by Dems I do not detest, speaking about RGJoe in glowing and collegial terms.
Who knows what the Hell happens to them over there…
Aloha, BK!
OH Yeah and the Toobz went down! Congrats ET!
Correction – some Dems I do not detest…
Shumer stood behind him as if he had his arm all the way in.
If Schumer had stood any closer to Harry, he’d have been flossing Harry’s butt cheeks…
Whatcha drinking…? ;-)
Ding!
That whole friggin’ scene was among the sorriest displays of shit-eating I have ever seen.
But this – they do not fear us at all. They are unconsequenced and without shame, and as they do this more and more, they are less aware of how sickening it is to observe.
They are the party of PR trainwrecks to come.
state court – not federal.
tis a start tho :)
Chris—this is the best I can find right now.
It was a sorry sight to see… Even one of mine, Inouye, was amongst the sorry lot! I’m gonna be busy in the next two years to ensure he doesn’t get re-elected, I’m disappointed that Abercrombie has announced he is seeking the Governor… He’d have made an excellent Senator…
1,831 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Suzanne and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
Stoke up the fire and keep the tunes comin’ ‘cuz we’re doin’ it again tanight! We hafta declare war on the Senate Democrats and push hard on the majority in the House…we ken still swing this thing if we get the House of Representatives to go to the mat with the Senate.
The indictments of Cheney and Gonzales won’t go away even with a pardon if the House investigative subcommittee reqires the bastards to appear and testify under penalty of purgery.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, THE FIGHT JEST GOT TOUGHER BUT WHAT THE HELL IT’S ALL ABOUT THE STRUGGLE ANYWAY!!
p.s. I guess the Cheney-Gonzales indictments are in state court, that means that the Chimpenfeuhrer can’t pardon ‘em.
2 of mine, dude. DiFi and Boxter™.
And Neil is smart to stay clear. Inouye will anoint and that will be that. And Neil would not be his choice.
hey norske
Plame, Wilson to take CIA leak lawsuit to Supreme Court
Former CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson and her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson, plan to take their civil lawsuit against Bush administration officials to the Supreme Court after a federal circuit court refused to rehear the case on Monday.
WoHoo Glad they are going all the way… another avenue to get Darth!!
Good evening,
OK is it time to put the cuffs on Suzanne for wrecking the Utube fun with this best buster? One of Dylan’s greatest done and outdone the, artist is definently put to get ya in the heart strings.
Nice one Suz you lowered the hammer.
Citizen CTuttle:
Isn’t Inouye gunna retire…I thought he had a challenge in the primary from a right wing dem and he’s in his 80’s ain’t he? He also supported Tibes Stevens right to the end. If Inouye announces retirement do ya think Abercrombie would run for the seat?
Actually, A presidential pardon can be given to anybody at any level of Judicial system, from municipal on up to the US Court of Appeals…
Norske Rules!
evening BB how goes it down there on the coast?
hey bb – thanks :)
Are ya sure about that Brother CT…I been under the impression that the President could not intevene in state court jurisdictions.
He hasn’t made the decision yet, there was a rumor that went around shortly after he remarried, but, he hasn’t formalized it…
Newt, Neil does have the obligatory state party seniority for the slot, but, you’re right that there’s no love lost between the two…!
Citizen EdwardTeller:
Hey Brother Teller, you must be feelin’ pretty full a yer self after the Senate results…ya get a big “Thank You” from all of us down here for drawin’ attention to the corruption and shitty rotten mess that is Alaska politics. All I got ta tell ya is “put it to music”!!
Usually, it is handled by the Guv, but, the President is not constrained by any law to do so…!
Saw her as a warm up for buddy guy (I think) about 6 years ago and immedately bought a cd-she rocks !
Make no mistake – I would love to see it.
But as Inouye sees fit to pal around with convicted felons, it’s hard to imagine him turning the reins over to one of the good guys.
She is now on the buy list!
Who would be his choice? Ed Case?
Bob in HI
I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much, nahant, it takes 5 Justices to grant cert… And with the current crew they’d be hard pressed to find ‘em…
she’s on the bought list here :) the cd this song is on is forking awesome
Norske,
It was Sen. Akaka who got the challenge from the BlueDog Democrat (Ed Case) two years ago. Unless Inouye gets indicted like his BFF Stevens, he can stay in the U.S. Senate as long as he wants to.
Bob in HI
how goes it ruffian?
Case said he’s gonna run for Abercrombie’s seat, since Neil’s announcement that he was going to run against Duke for the Guv… Interestingly, D’jou said he was running for Neil’s seat too… I’m glad that race is on your side of the Isles…! Bwhahaha…!
I know but It would show the country just how political the justices really are! Well worth the publicity so hopefully we can keep a Dem President and get more good Justices and not political hacks like the two bush got in..
A return to Vinson Elkins is not in Abu’s stars. If he hadn’t been such an unprincipled whore, I might feel some sympathy. Bush used him up.
hey sunny
That’s the plan, Citizen Norske, that’s the plan.
You’re the man to do it too…! In Baroque?
There are indications that among AbuG’s chief personality traits was a glaring cowardice, especially wrt Addington.
Even Ashcroft was prepared to resign along with the rest of the senior DOJ staff, and possibly Mueller with him, in the face if gross illegality regarding the TSP™.
When you are confronted with an enterprise engaged in the crime of the century, you shouldn’t find difficulty in looking inside and choosing.
I have less than zero sympathy for Gonzales. He is a shitheel deluxe, and he made his own bed all those years ago in Texas.
/rant
Well, I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
aloha ct
Neuro check out this tune from the Chieftains some nice eye candy also!
nite tuttle
nite CT
Waited 7 hours for my Public Comment today…had the last word as the meeting adjourned. It was a battle between the developers of a project and the environmentlist who had their ass handed to them. But…it ain’t over the EIR has to be certified.
I am a slave to my activism long hours, lots of dissapointment and no pay. Morality does not pay. Like crime.

I’m bailing out, too. But i like your piece last night, just caught your piece tonight.
Focus, relentless pressure, squash the myth that we are minuscule.
Unfortunately, Obama does not help us much.
nite cujo, nite pups
Thanks newtonusr. I’m afraid you’re right, particularly about Obama.
Goodnight.
