I liked the nervous hand movements Will makes as Krugman’s handing him his ass.
Morning BT,
Looks like there will be a lot going on this week. So far there is only three dems opposed to Leiberweasel’s committee appointment. Also are there any vacancies on the Alaska Election Commission – it sounds like a great job. Work a day, four days off, work a day, four days off….
Will may have felt his rug trying to crawl off his head.
Naomi Klein’s up on democracynow.
That doesn’t come on here for a couple of hours but set my autotune.
Saw here on C-span over the weekend.
It’s online right now. democracynow.org & click on watch now.
Naomi Klein *swoon*
Was pleasantly surprised to see that C-Span Book TV had some excellent progressive writers on from the Florida book fair.
Will trying to explain the depression to Krugman is like a two year old explaning the family budget to a parent..
lol. that was nice, i had only listened to the podcast. there was another nice bit in the beginning where sam donaldson whines about having to argue economics with krugman and stephanopoulos said something like “at your peril”.
still, it was disappointing that krugman punted on the treasury secretary question.
thanks!
You don’t understand. Will is all knowing why do you think Stepancrapolis has him on every week. /s
The DN live stream a little quirky. I’ll catch the whole thing later. What Naomi’s saying about tax cuts for the banks so they can merge, etc is something else. Goddamn Congress is gonna give Wall Street and the banks everything they want. At our expense. Worthless bunch of fools.
for folks who didn’t see booktv this weekend, these two i thought were fabulous (links to cspan archive video):
Naomi Klein, Jeremy Schahill
Chris Hedges, Laila Al-Arian, Jane Mayer, Jonathan Mahler
That’s why I like to see the clips rather than just listening.
From Yahoo news this morning, the hatred of the McCain/Palin campaign has given more legitimacy to the real haters: After Obama’s win, white backlash festers in US
Those are exactly the ones I was talking about….. since constrained by dial-up, was fortunate to have seen them in real time.
and the most VACAQNT brain in Alaska willreceive at LEAST 7,000,000.00 US dollars to present her rantings in a book… i shit you not, close to what big dawg ,no?
jeebs its early…VACANT brain
yuppers!
Sen. Levin: Big three auto CEO’s should resign
Stephen C. Webster
Published: Sunday November 16, 2008

Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI), during a Sunday appearance on Meet the Press, assailed the CEO’s of Detroit’s big three auto makers and said they should resign if it meant the government would then provide rescue loans to the failing companies.
hahahahahahahahaahah
George Shill smacked down by Krugggers…..lol
i’m glad you didn’t miss them. i’ve learned to post mp3’s as flash streaming audio (that works for dial up). i recorded this and i’d like to post them for other folks on dial up, except that i think the copyright not does allow that (does anyone know about that?). if anyone is interested i could use a temporary webpage with a password.
hahahhahahahahaha
The Sirius Star oil tanker (image from Aramco website) Pirates capture Saudi oil tanker
Pirates have seized a Saudi-owned oil tanker with 25 crew on board off the coast of Kenya, the US Navy says.
Cokie tried to sputter a defense for George. When the revolution comes, Cokie gets moved to the front of the line.
John Brennan, Obama’s trasition team in national security, is one of the CIA’s worst of the worst, it sounds like. Likes renditions, torture, warrantless wiretapping.
Fixed it for ya. This is an ugly thing that’s going to grow. We need to have Obama’s back by every definition. Oh. Good morning, everyone.
Give the wingnuts a day or two and they will be saying Obama did it.
Good Morning Blue Texan and Firedogs.
switching back to IE from ff:
this is a test of the emergency cbl broadcast system
ok. my missing ‘preview’ function is back. and what the hell ? so is “show text” !
how long has that been back ?!?!?
hope all are sending their love/healing/comfort bombs to ((((katymine)))) – this is a hoss !
Sooner or later shipping companies are gonna learn to arm ships sailing the east coast of Africa. Couple deck mounted .50 cal should handle speedboats quite well.
Jamie Missic (sp?), another member of Obama natsec transition team, was integral in phoneying up the Iraq war case.
this is a depressing report.
yes and his illegal estranged aunt is the ring leader
The whole program is abysmally depressing.
write to him…we all must tell him we a re watching
I agree with Cantor.
What the Republicans need is a new, world class Judas goat like Ronald Reagan to lead the working class Democrats into yet a new slaughter house.
When a Republican talks about “reaching out” to working class Americans, he is talking about sticking a knife in the back of working class Americans.
Some reaching out.
Yep, show text works in IE but not FF. What’s up with that? Gonna sneak off and try Safari.
I haven’t seen a name yet I’m happy with.
Well that spoiled everything. I was trying to figure out the acronym for VACAQNT. Vacuous, adenoidal, cute as a button, querulous, not ready for top of ticket.
Doesn’t work in Safari, either. And I hate IE. Damn.
Saudis will do anything to raise the price of oil now..”g”
safari ??? does that mean a certain Dragon got himself a Mac ??
sooo envious :D
this stuff (torture, detention, intelligence) has been reported in the MSM recently. i’ve even posted a couple of comments with links. (here and here). amy goodman, as per usual does the best job reporting the issue. and russ feingold is the only person in government i’ve been able to find who has jumped on it to push back.
thank you for putting up with my poor..skilllz…”g”
Nah, couldn’t afford it. I’ve got all 3 browsers installed on Vista, though.
I don’t even HAVE IE installed. Grrr….
for pups who missed today’s democracy now! and want to listen now – it’s being repeating on wbai with audio streaming. highly recommended.
You must have a Mac, then. Consider yersef lucky.

you kids and your whizzbangs
muchas gracias – a breakfast treat
It’s on my community radio station at noon but I usually watch it online instead. Lunch with Amy.
it’s an Apple browser but, like iTunes, there is a PC version/
Off to swim in the great
capitalistwild west robber baron cesspool. (Thanks to the ever lovely Naomi Klein for the redefinition) “Scene of the trillion dollar crime, the 700 billion stick-up.”Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
I do nit-picking, you do thinking and analysis. Great teamwork, eh?
Well, there are many views of what WWII did to the economy. I prefer Dr. Robbie Batra’s version that the economy was recovering well UNTIL we went into the war. It just depends on the #’s you look at; esp GDP. Because the people definitely were worse off during the war with rationing and long war assembly hours.
The CONSUMER economy didn’t pick up until again until after the war when all our $$ wasn’t being blown up overseas like it is now too.
This is the war profiteers paradigm, not the actual one for actual people.
“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children….This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from an iron cross.”
War: A Theft From Those Who Hunger
If the grassroots efforts that backed Obama continues to do work to bring change on the grassroots level, it will be the leveling element to hate groups.
When good happens, anyone against it looks like —-…And stands out…
