I liked the nervous hand movements Will makes as Krugman’s handing him his ass.

Morning BT,
Looks like there will be a lot going on this week. So far there is only three dems opposed to Leiberweasel’s committee appointment. Also are there any vacancies on the Alaska Election Commission - it sounds like a great job. Work a day, four days off, work a day, four days off….

lol. that was nice, i had only listened to the podcast. there was another nice bit in the beginning where sam donaldson whines about having to argue economics with krugman and stephanopoulos said something like “at your peril”.

still, it was disappointing that krugman punted on the treasury secretary question.

The DN live stream a little quirky. I’ll catch the whole thing later. What Naomi’s saying about tax cuts for the banks so they can merge, etc is something else. Goddamn Congress is gonna give Wall Street and the banks everything they want. At our expense. Worthless bunch of fools.

From Yahoo news this morning, the hatred of the McCain/Palin campaign has given more legitimacy to the real haters: After Obama’s win, white backlash festers in US

…

The election of America’s first black president has triggered more than 200 hate-related incidents, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center – a record in modern presidential elections. Moreover, the white nationalist movement, bemoaning an election that confirmed voters’ comfort with a multiracial demography, expects Mr. Obama’s election to be a potent recruiting tool – one that watchdog groups warn could give new impetus to a mostly defanged fringe element.

I agree with Cantor.

What the Republicans need is a new, world class Judas goat like Ronald Reagan to lead the working class Democrats into yet a new slaughter house.

When a Republican talks about “reaching out” to working class Americans, he is talking about sticking a knife in the back of working class Americans.

Some reaching out.

Well, there are many views of what WWII did to the economy. I prefer Dr. Robbie Batra’s version that the economy was recovering well UNTIL we went into the war. It just depends on the #’s you look at; esp GDP. Because the people definitely were worse off during the war with rationing and long war assembly hours.

The CONSUMER economy didn’t pick up until again until after the war when all our $$ wasn’t being blown up overseas like it is now too.

This is the war profiteers paradigm, not the actual one for actual people.

“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children….This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from an iron cross.”

If the grassroots efforts that backed Obama continues to do work to bring change on the grassroots level, it will be the leveling element to hate groups.

When good happens, anyone against it looks like —-…And stands out…
