digg stumbleupon

  • Hillary to replace Condi?
  • Awwwkward.
  • I don’t think the GOP guvs like Palin very much.
  • And they can’t help themselves: still Obama bashing.
  • Willard ponders 2012.
  • 2008 turnout: higher than 2004 but not a record.
  • Boxturtle to replace Coleman as head of NRSC.
  • Nice.
  • Kinda like the Iraq, the economy, etc.: W. before and after.

Zed, and this for Edward Teller if he is at the lake.
Edward Teller, remember me? I informed you that the Google names Young Alaska’s Senator? Back when you had *** in your name? Got my first ROTFL from you. May have been last, for all I know,
Anyway, I am redipping into the lake after a prolonged absence and wondering if you had posted your views on the current electoral situation.

Zed again. My first response vanished.

Anyway, thanks for the Awwwwwwkward. memorable lines of Bidens,

“For every American who is trying to do the right thing, for all those people in government who are honoring their pledge to uphold the law and respect our Constitution, no longer will the eight most dreaded words in the English language be: ‘The vice president’s office is on the phone.’”

I thought about that before I asked, but rejected it because it’s so useless (or so I think). Everybody knows what all the factions think about all the major players and all you hear when you send up a trial balloon is stuff you already knew. Raises a lot of problems (people whose names get in the news but who don’t get jobs are not endeared to O) with little obvious benefits.

speaking of Rahm, his father opened his mouth and made some worst fears feel true.

Representative Rahm Emanuel, President-elect Barack Obama’s chief of staff, called the president of an Arab-American group today to apologize for comments his father made to an Israeli newspaper.

In the remarks, Benjamin Emanuel discussed the potential impact of his son’s new position on U.S.-Israeli relations.

“Obviously he’ll influence the president to be pro-Israel. Why wouldn’t he? What is he, an Arab? He’s not going to be mopping floors at the White House,” the elder Mr. Emanuel told the Israeli daily Ma’ariv, according to English-language reports in The Jerusalem Post and The Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

Mr. Obama’s campaign declined to address the issue.

So far, other than the leak that Rahm would be Chief of Staff, do we know for a fact that any of the supposed leaks are in fact leaks. So far, it seems like the MSM have ended up retracting most of the info they “learned” from sources within the Obama transition staff.

He is currently AG and clearly has strong political ambitions (father was gov for many years & had prez aspirations), following in the pattern of Spitzer. What, USA-CIA-ma Bin Laden is still alive. I am so scared. No evidence is presented to prove this. Should we believe a loyal Bushie or Benazir Bhutto? Of course this is the bad member of the Bin Laden family, unlike the good ones who are long time partners with the Bush Crime Family.

But, believe half of what you see, and nothing what you hear. The previous Bin Laden “tapes” were released by a mysterious group SITE, possibly a M*SS*D false flag operation. Why should we believe any of this?

Some Jews from prominent families were arrested and charged with spying for Israel, among them Katz’s father. After he was imprisoned, his wife and children were transported to Baghdad and kept under house arrest in a stone hut. Katz’s father was convicted in a military tribunal and executed, in 1969, with eight other Jews and five non-Jews, in a public hanging in Baghdad’s central square. Hundreds of thousands of cheering Iraqis attended; the government offered free transportation to people from the provinces, and belly dancers performed for the crowd. Katz was six years old.

After the family had been living in the hut for months, Katz’s mother drugged the guards and escaped with the children. By pretending to be the wife of a well-known Iraqi general, a woman she faintly resembled, she got the family first to the Iranian border and then to Israel.

Emphasizes all the attacks of U.S. on Islam (I forget the # but it’s in the neighborhood of a couple dozen) in the last 20 years. Taliban, Hamas, Hezzies have local support because they provide services that the national govts don’t. Afghanistan is a run-o-mill Pashtun insurgency against occupying power with no military soln. Terrorism is no threat to U.S. but is an intelligence/police issue, etc.

Much more clear headed, less pain, less expensive, fewer side effects. She’s the one who asked my why the U.S. didn’t buy up the Afghan crop. Thought some might enjoy reading this from the Asian Times:

US demand for highly polluting coal and overseas oil means that energy features in every major challenge – the economy, the environment and foreign policy – facing president-elect Barack Obama. A major White House-led initiative on the scale of the Manhattan Project, which produced the first atomic bomb, is required to resolve a crisis that increases in magnitude by the day.

Just thinking on my feet, but wonder if single payer medical care wouldn’t be more likely to do a better job on pain management, as they’re not earning a lot more money by seeing the same person over & over again. Does anyone know what the evidence is? Do European/Canadian systems do a better job on that, or are they just as much in Pharma’s pocket as in the U.S.? (I know they pay lower prices for pharmas, but do they use them when something simpler will do?)

It worked so well in the debate, why not try it again?

BLITZER: Right now a big issue, should the U.S. government, the federal government bail out the Detroit — the big three automakers?

PALIN: Oh, that is the discussion of the day. And there is going to come a point here where absolutely the federal government must play an appropriate role in shoring up some of these industries that are hurting and will ultimately hurt our entire economy and the world’s economy if there aren’t some better decisions being made.

But we also have to start shifting some debate here in our country and start talking about personal responsibility and responsibility of management in some of these corporations and companies so that from
henceforth it’s not assumed that the federal government is going to be bailing out everybody who is going to soon line up, Wolf, for more taxpayer assistance.
And I’m talking about personal responsibility too in terms of homeowners and in terms of folks who maybe have extended their own credit. Sure, predatory lenders are to blame in all of this also, but we have got to make sure, for instance, we’re not talked into buying a $300,000 house, because really we know we can only afford a $100,000 house.

And we’ve got to start living those lessons that we try to teach our children in terms of not living beyond our means and extending our own personal credit to the point of not being able to pay our monthly bills and then expecting government to grow and be the answer.

BLITZER: So, sorry, I’m still waiting for the answer, should the government bail out the big three automakers?

Obama to meet with McCain on Monday

CHICAGO — President-elect Barack Obama’s transition office says the Democrat will meet with vanquished Republican rival John McCain on Monday.

In announcing the meeting, Obama spokesman Stephanie Cutter said the pair will :”discuss ways to work together” to improve the quality of government and services to the people.

Cutter also said the two will be joined at Obama’s Chicago transition office by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, a McCain confidant, and Rep. Rahm Emanuel, the Illinois Democrat whom Obama has chose to be his White House chief of staff.

I can’t prove it, but I suspect during the 1970’s Wasilla must have had a lot of teachers with favorites and graded on popularity rather than academic skills or work.

So far all of the leaks, Raaaaahhhhm, Biden, were true.

To even consider Hillary for that position is a fu**ing insult to those of us who supported Obama over Hillary. Her foreign policy drove us to him in the first place.
Her all Israel, pr-war, pro-cluster bomb use and bullying attitudes are despicible credentials for that job.

With her donors all from Wall Street even having her around our Health policy decisions gave me the creeps.
But State?? This won’t be one of those decisions we politely disagree with Obama on.
This is a deadly serious and blatant FU** YOU to the Left.
And the end of the dream.

Foreign policy She represented everything we did NOT want

twolf1@96: What can I say? The older I get, the more I forget. Did Kennedy meet with Nixon? Did LBJ host Goldwater? Is Tinkerbell among the invitees?
