Fundamentally, this race is over and Stevens is sunk. The places yet to be counted lean Democratic. Guess the Republican operatives in his state didn’t think it was worth leaning on the results so that Stevens could go back, and the Democrats could then decide that he deserved a full investigation out of fairness.

Would it be premature for Alaskans to change the name to Ted Stevens Memorial International Airport ? For Ted Stevens, not being in the US Senate will result in most people assuming he’s dead.
