Even if we got 60 seats, could Reid get 60 votes?

What price would D Senators pay if they helped Republican’s win filibuster fights? Would anyone believe ahead of time that Reid would make them pay any price. I bet the Republicans would be willing to pay big for a blue dog like that.

my two cents on petition:

“It was Joe Lieberman who made his choice in running as an independent and then supporting the GOP ticket, he made his bed let him lie in it. The Democrats do not owe him anything for kicking sand in their face. The important position of a committee chair should be held by a Democrat who has adhered to party principles and has fought for increasing the party’s majority in the Senate, not someone who worked against it.

It was sarcasm. Just look as some of the other responses, that we don’t really know yet, wait and see, etc.

Pach said if that wasn’t satire we’ve witnessed the death of a movement. I think we already have witnessed the death of the movement when everyone jumped on the Obama bandwagon in spite of his obvious signs of centrism. (excuse my language).

Wow, ok. So you are not disappointed at Obama’s change in tone since winning the election? All of a sudden things are not going to be happening as “quickly as he would like”. Maybe reality is starting to set in a little huh?

I bet he pulls a Clinton within the first year of office and backs down on almost everything he campaigned on. You’ll get a few bones tossed to you like funding of fetal tissue, and maybe abortion/gun rights legislation tossed in, but other than that he will flake even with the support of congress.

I haven’t read many of the comments but Jane keeps arguing that Lieberman has to go. Well…..Look, kids, Obama has said that he is going to be forgiving, going to reach out to people. I don’t like Lieberman. I think his behavior was just awful during the campaign. But, Obama says he wants Lieberman on our side of the isle. Shouldn’t we give that to him?????
