Of gay politicians at the national level, I am not sure who is in the pipeline. France could actually beat us on this one. Bertrand Delanoë, the Mayor of Paris, is out and proud, and may have a good shot to be the President of France someday. He’ll have to knock of Ségolène Royal first, though, to lead the French Socialist Party.

The Republican party is dead, and should be treated as such. Every time the meme “this is a center-right country” is uttered it should be countered with “That’s a lie” — uttered as forcefully as possible, giving the liar no quarter. Or air.

David Geffen would make good president, though I’m not so sanguine about his possible pick for “First Boyfriend.”

I actually think that Sarah Palin would have been a better president, and at least as qualified as George W. Bush.

Six months ago, I wrote an article about how Starbuck’s sales were dropping, and noted that I’d seen similar things in the coffee shops I visit. I took it as a sign back then that things were on their way south. At this point, I don’t think any sector of the economy can expect an upturn. Well, except for check-cashing joints and bankruptcy attorneys.
