Well, I’m up extra early to watch the beginning of the end — of the election — and McCain has returned to speak near one of his homes. He’s before an audience of what seems to be literally dozens, most of whom sound like they are behind him on the stage. Meanwhile, Obama spoke to 90,000 in Manassas, Virginia, or as we in the North like to call it, Bull Run [please feel free to read this in your best David McCullough inner-voice].
Among the most faithful of McCain’s sidekicks is Lindsey Graham who is up there behind McCain wearing his best crying on the inside smile.
What’s Lindsey up to in his day-job?:
For the past few weeks, I have heard ads on black Gospel radio stations from Senators Lindsey Graham and Representative Joe Wilson encouraging black voters to "split the ticket."
I believe one of the phrases were "no matter who you vote for as president . . ."
Et tu, Huckleberry, et tu?
Now let’s go vote.

About Firedoglake
for some reason I did not think I would be first this morning
G’day from downunder. It is late evening on the 4th here and we’re just hearing of the stunning upset in the far reaches of NH where Obama is the first democrat to win Dixville Notch and Hart’s Location since 1968. Tomorrow Oz time Democrats Abroad are meeting at a local pub at 10 am local (about 7 pm EST) to watch the returns. The rest of the world cares very much about this election. Leave everything on the road. Go vote when the poles open if you haven’t already.
is this the dawn of America’s new day?
is this the day our constitution arises to spread her mighty wings and embraces this beaten land to tell us” if yoou do not abandoned me, I will not abandoner you?
do I look into the heavens, smile my smile to the father of the universe with tears shed to the ground saying thank you?
I just attended McShame here in Prescott. Stump speech minus a bunch of stuff. Joe the plumber wasn’t here. Joe the the Lie-er man was. He actually got a good applause…totally weird…the elderly couple I was next to clapped furiously for him then started grumbling, and when other people started talking shit about him, as did a lot of the audience. Lindsey the gram (i.e. lightweight) was there as well. Neither of these clowns talked.
I’d say there were 2,000 to 3,000 people there. 66% McCain. At one point, Hank Williams the Junior was playing in the gazebo, and I was next to it. I had a video camera trying to capture this mother say some racist stuff on the sly to her daughter(it turned out the crap). When Hank started hyping Cindy the racist family (actually I only know about the mom) started giving her shit, saw my camera, and pulled out their Obama sign. I think the racists were seriously pro-Obama. The Courthouse square is a low spot, and all the media garbage and the stands for the VIPs totally crowded out anyone else from hardly glimpsing the man. I looked at the back of his head next to a spotlight shining right into my eyes. The crowd was pretty mellow. Like a wake. Good night.
I can’t wait to here McCain’s concession speech.
It will be like music to my ears.
Come on Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania! Make Obama and the country proud!

Did I tell you I was in Sydney when we landed on the moon?
Hello from Edinburgh.
Obama FTW!
Eugene Robinson:
Going to vote inm NH. Walking up to my buddies house to walk over.
Its dark and fairly thick fog. Neighbor dog is barking and somebody with a headlight jogs over yonder.
Polls open in 25 minutes.
Good morning, pups. It’s Bobo and Herbert. Today Bobo is being a real horse’s patoot. He typed out a whine called “A Date With Scarcity,” in which he gravely warns us that we’re probably entering a period in which smart young liberals meet a stone-cold scarcity that they do not seem to recognize or have a plan for. Bobo, STFU please. Mr. Herbert is looking “Beyond Election Day,” and says that as Americans go to the polls in what is probably the most important presidential election since World War II, what they really have to decide is what kind of country they want.
http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready. We’ve got a full-bore breakfast this morning to give us the energy we need to GOTV. Help yourself to eggs however you like them, country ham and/or bacon, grits, and toast and/or biscuits with gravy. Take a bottle of water if you’re going to be canvassing, and for the love of heaven please help us out by taking some of the leftover Halloween candy or I’ll weigh 800 pounds next month. We’re headed out to the polls in about an hour. Vote. Vote. Have a great day, and make it better by voting.
Jeeez…I hate to pigeon-hole anyone…but Lyndsey Graham, who’s mega- intolerant of everyone who isn’t White Southern and Christian.. seems about a feminine as my mother. He is either the most sexually frustrated closet queen on Earth, or a monstrous hypocrite.
Him and that lispy twink Orin Hatch.
Barney would drop them both like a bad habit!
Sununu plastic wrap ad on all the newspapers but it will not be enough.
Ned more motivation to vote”
Both.
Have a good election and safe home.
Pete, the world watched us four years ago, they held their breath and hoped that America would not vote to keep bush in office
in the end, we did not, there was voter suppression, machine flipping, forced long lines and purging of voters from the voting rolls
we did in fact vote for kerry 4 years ago though they turned the count around
this time around we hope there are just too many people voting for their methods to be effective
we know the world is watching us, we know that if we are to unite this country once again with the rest of the world, bush must be soundly rebuked, obama elected and a ne direction’s path layed out
we know the world is watching us…we know
another palinopathetic tirade, though compared to her others, this one is tame
And well stated.
Mornin Joe is excited about this country and hw it is going to throw da bums out.
and Pat thinks it’s a new age of liberalism because of all the uneducated immigrants who look to government.
the first election polls are in
it’s a southern precinct and their results are back
Imus couldn’t vote because of the line and he said, “they aren’t lined up on the upper West side to vote for Mc Cain”. Predicts Obama win by 3-5 points.
6:10am line is about 200 people.
this can’t be good
fox news is already making a play to say mccain is gonna win
the last time they did this they knew there was a fix in florida
nerves mounting for me but I do believe we have too many voters…mccain stumped for thousands, obama stumped for hundreds of thousands
I can’t believe new york will only be 3 percent win for obama
if new york is only 4 points then this race is much tighter then we want it to be
He meant national
I meant he meant
Bob Herbert might well be talking directly to the Lake; please read the entire piece. I’m especially happy he chose to spotlight NC’s *former* senator. :-)
Marion already provided but here it is again:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11…..rt.html?hp
Too bad it’s even a question.
I just mentioned to my wife, last night, that I didn’t think the reporters and pundits could think of too many more delicate terms to describe ignorant, uneducated white people.
I would hardly give that a whole lot of credence, especially as that article ends with this:
Feh.
Hard to thinks of Buchanan as either.
Happy voting day one and all. Here in NH it looks like a Dem. sweep once again but one can only hope. For myself I am at the polls pretty much all day holding signs but I will get a chance to vote for, yes Raven, the first black president of the US after all how could one pass up that opportunity.
If the bastards try and steal this election they will find people in the streets and it will not be pretty.
PS. Going to be a beautiful day here, sun and the lower 60s Yippee!
No, I know he’s not. But you said he’s implying the collapse of civilization, as he knows it, is the result of immigration of masses of voting welfare recipients. Or, maybe I misunderstood.
Line is about 80 percent over 50 in age. Line is moving. No presidential sign holders for either side. Darn this line is moving fast. Luck for Obama they moved the voting room to the basketball court.
I’m very optimistic marion, this surely looks like a landslide
I am only giving pause because fox becomes a laughing stock as a pollster if this race is a route
sure, they are morons who don’t look ahead but murdoch is putting alot of his polling reputation on the line by saying this race is close
That is for sure what he is saying, I just never saw him as a journalist.
I Love The Smell Of Democracy In The Morning !!!
mornin’ dogs
Here in Mass, there are more McCain-Palin signs, but that only means
that McCain lost on day 1. I’m hoping for a 60-40, twenty point slam dunk.
Has our ghastly nightmare ended?
Gotta walk the pups, back with a report on the polling place in the hood in a bit.
Let’s just hope that Dixville Notch got it right this morning. First time since 1968 they’ve gone for a Democrat.
Mission accomplished
crikey!
my cbl comment flipped to an oldnslow comment !!
it’s really me at 41 -
I don’t follow the disconect, I guess I need coffee
could you explain whay more mccain signs means he lost?
thanks, I didn’t get in neither
rut ro
this means the company that runs the voting machines are also running the lake
Lindsay is the Tennesee Williams of the senate
I’ve been telling everyone I know to stay in line. If you’re in line when the polls close, you can still vote. What’s a few hours of discomfort when the fate of the country depends on this vote? (Obama campaign has comfort teams ready to go with snacks and water).
Dems know it is in the bag, so they didn’t bother to wave the signs.
Those fuckers, the Repugs have a petition on the ballot to repeal
the state income tax of 5.3%.
Hoping that voters scorch that anywhichwayridiculous drive…
We were voters # 3 & 4 and when we left there was a long line of 95% black faces waiting to vote for Obama… and the 5% of the white faces didn’t look the least bit repukelican. I think mount vernon will vote 98% Obama.
We’re happy! We are gonna party hearty tonight.
couldn’t he be both?
got it
let’s hope your take is right
About 20 minutes to vote. Super fast and organized.
Paper and pen. 25 booths plus 12 sit down spots for people who are new registers to go right to.
Nashua, nh. Friend registered and voted and came out the door 3rd of the 5 people I am with.
I just meant to point out the irony of the fact that the Republicans have spent the last month trying to appeal to the least informed of voters, and they aren’t recent immigrants.
that is a sweet story redx
your personal exit polling results if you don’t mind?
Ugh! We’re almost there folks. I’m going to go vote after I get the kids on the bus this morning and then go to work — like I’m going to be able to focus on anything work-related.
I can’t wait until this thing is over and I can know whether Obama is going to be allowed to win or not. I’m really hoping it will be fairly early in the evening when it becomes evident that Obama is on track for a landslide and I can put my anxieties to rest (at least for a couple of days before the impeach Obama stuff gets started in earnest).
The Guardian has all but called the Election 08, interesting links too.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/worl…..rackobama2
it’s the final countdown
Has NH turned the page on Republicans? From the chit-chat, NH may climb out of the dark side?
man, I don’t know if I have enough adrenalin, I might get a stroke before the end of the day, my heart is pumping as though I am in a race and I am still in bed!
going to panera bread, will see all an about 15
I just want to Thank ALL here who have stood so strong through the long and, some times, so difficult journey to this election.
You are True Patriots and I am so very proud to have been able to walk with you.
As a Non-Citizen I cannot vote, but I really do believe that the fate of the whole world depends on this one election. I do have faith in the people here and in the cities and small towns of America.
Today as Americans, you will show the world that the American people do care about what is done in their names, and that you will change the direction of this great country forever..
with much love and gratitude
Jackie…
I’m startled by McCain’s optimism as well. He seems positively giddy. I don’t know whether that means he’s been told the fix is in or he’s taking something to elevate his mood.
I have a 90yr old aunt with a host of medical problems. After her last mini-stroke, we asked her doctor to prescribe a mood-elevator (cuz she kept calling us, crying, complaining that she was lonely…like 10minutes after we visited her). Anyway, things are much improved. Yesterday, she told me that her vision is so bad, she can’t see past her nose. Then she laughed like that was the funniest thing ever. McCain is acting like her. Or….the fix is in.
Well said, I hope I can uncork my Corona at 7:05 PM…
Sounds like a good case of the “here an’ nows”, deep breaths, grasshopper. ;-)
Hi Nashua, Portsmouth here
Dixville Notch in New Hampshire went for Barack! First Democrat they’ve elected in 40 years!
http://ap.google.com/article/A…..AD947UING0
And who did the classmates of right winger Howie Carr’s (Boston) daughter pick in a mock election? They chose BARACK OBAMA and coming in 2nd to him was RALPH NADER! Yep, ole Johnny got 3rd place.
What a happy joyous day, but I’m feeling so heartbroken for Barack who lost his grandmother the day before his historic moment. Sad. Very sad.
Agreed… he keeps on mouthing off with his disgusting rants.
Actually NH although ostensibly gooper is actually very Dem. The House is Dem, both our Congresspeople are Dem, soon to have a Dem Senator, the Gov is Dem. And we are overwhelmingly Pro-Choice have very good, and innovative, Domestic Abuse laws and have one of the best GAL programs in the country. And we did not vote for that fucker bush.
They *have* to be pumping him up with something……there is NO way he could be maintaining the kind of schedule of the last few days without it….at least based on his activity level prior to the past few weeks.
Well it certainly seems like an Obama landslide is in order. But, not to be a wet blanket, we need to be emotionally prepared for “what if…”
We can’t wait a week or two to overcome our shock and depression. We need to be ready to act immediately if the unthinkable happens. It seems like I read something over at AlterNet about how they will help coordinate efforts if a massive protest is needed tomorrow.
Hopefully we’ll just be sleeping in after a celebratory night, but just remember there is another possibility.
That he took the time to go and visit with her was truly indicative of the person he is… family first. She was damn proud of him at her last.
Woohoo Nomolos! I think New Hampshire is the bluest since I was born 40 years ago! Awesome. It appears the dingbats here in Maine are going to choose Collins over Allen, but I’m still hoping the early voting is for him and the young people come out in droves to vote for him. All I want is Collins to feel nervous & scared today. That’s all I’m asking for!!!
Wow, Pollster.com shows a huge change from yesterday. They’ve dropped O’s total to 291. OTOH, they’ve raised his ’strong’ back to 273.
Exactly, but what did the right wingers do when they found out he took his campaign plane to fly to Hawaii to be with her? They filed an FEC report against him. Heartless bastards!!!
http://www.politickerca.com/be…..a-campaign
And they’re the Christians in this country? Well, they’re going to see a REAL COMPASSIONATE PRESIDENT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 8 YEARS AND THEY’RE ALSO GOING TO WITNESS HOW THE DEMOCRATIC CHRISTIANS REALLY ARE! Spit. I effing despise them with every ounce of my being. They don’t give a shit about family. Never had. Never will.
Well, if the McCain/RNC/[insert the Secretary of State of your choice here] decide to steal this election away from Barack & the nation, then we’ll have to remind the country that the mess George Bush left is still in the hands of the republicans where it should be and life will be worse.
A little votin’ music -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgECKj9LSH4
I saw both of your senators names on a list for a possible role in an Obama Presidency. The list might have been on Politico but I’m no sure. What happens in your state if a Senator resigns?
Did Maine start a wave?
http://www.boston.com/news/loc…..ne_harbor/
I saw that too. Maybe Barack is thinking whoever loses today will be his pick? In that case, I hope Allen loses! The thought of Collins being part of Barack’s historic presidency makes my skin crawl.
Poll line that was out the door gone, there was a bit of poll opening line with people trying to get to work.
There are now 3 people with Obama signs.
I have a co-worker who’s very religious. I try not to be confrontational at work, but she sent an email to my personal acct. that so enraged me that I responded. It was that ridiculous story about a guy not tipping his Obama-supporting waiter so that he could give the tip to a homeless guy instead (spreading the wealth). Anyway, she responded saying she was sitting this election out. She could never vote for Obama because of abortion and “biblical prophecy”. I don’t even know what that means, but since my response would have been “are you a freeking idiot?”, I let it go. Happy that she was simply not voting.
I’m not sure how I should feel about this: my eighteen year-old told me she might be too busy to vote. She “hates” both McCain and Obama so the vote for Nader won’t hurt as much. Her fundie church turned her off on Obama and all people Democratic; her heart and spirit gave her wise counsel on McCain-Palin. But too busy to vote at eighteen!?
I couldn’t roll over at 4:30am. I usually sleep well until 6:30. Off to see what’s happening at the polling place and to cast my vote for Obama. God help us if he is elected and doesn’t deliver.
Suppose he chose Collins, assuming she wins tonight, as Ambassador of Oz, who would replace her?
Very strange indeed. Just recently we had a mini-Noreastah storm and the people living on the Downeast coast (Rockland and above) reported seeing the ocean pull way away from the shoreline (like a tsunami before it hits) and then a huge wave rushing back in (which causes damage to boats & docks that smashed into each other)5 times before the storm was over! Some of the largest waves can be found off the coast of Maine up to Nova Scotia/Newfoundland area.
Perfect call! Thanks.
You inspired me to put together a quick Election Day playlist for my iPod.
Wow, I woke up on election day and no martial law, no canceled election. What’s this junta coming to, and end?
I would imagine Allen would get her slot in the US Senate if Barack decided to choose her even if she won. To be honest, I’m not sure how it works here in Maine. I don’t think that’s ever happened, so not sure how it would be handled. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
I’m watching CNN and they are showing the lines at the polling station..There are already long lines and the mix of people is awesome…GO AMERICA..
*stations.
I never thought I would say this, but Laura bush hits it out of the park
you don’t say
hehehehe
I was thinking the same
perhaps after obama wins?
it won’t be too late you know, while president he can make anything an “emergency” and obama winning might pass his test for just that emergency
AMERICANS ARE PUMPED UP FOR SOME REAL CHANGE!
I have questions about martial law.
Can Cheney still declare martial law when there’s a new president elected???
If Obama is assassinated next week, does Biden take over in January???
TP TO THE BATMOBILE!
w00T!
I feel like a little kid waking up Christmas morning. I am so excited! I’m going to vote after the on-the-way-to-work crowd has passed. I can’t wait.
I never heard you yell before kay who is now in maine
gonna be a long day
you woke up?
I couldn’t fall asleep so no need to wake up
can you believe it! If you could see the smile on my face this morning. The creatures think I’m crazy.
I don’t believe cheney can though that wouldn’t stop him
the president is still the president, this election changes nothing until barack is sworn in
Just back from voting! Good turn-out, first time that i have seen them have to use 2 lines for eagerly waiting voters (of course we only have 2 voting machines in my little town.)
I confess I didn’t sleep through the night either, but not from worry.
Report back.
They all ready knew you were. They pretend not to to get fed. :)
I’m so excited. We’re going to make history happen.
we are history happening
Look at this front page at abcnews.com. Tell me they didn’t darken the Obama/Biden side while lightening the McC/Palin side.
http://abcnews.go.com/
I understand. thanks.
Bush is probably flying so high on Xanax that he wouldn’t even remember signing the document three hours later…
Poll line that was out the door gone, there was a bit of poll opening line with people trying to get to work.
There are now 3 people with Obama signs.
5 of 5 in my pary for Obama. Not much chatter on the lines about who voting for. Man oh man did I double check the bubble for Shaheen ( suck it sununu).
Just back from voting. Long lines already. The nightmare is nearly over.
Time to break up the corporate monopolies controlling information. Time to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. Time to neuter right wing hate in the media.
you know what?
even scarborough knows bush was not elected last in 04
no shit sherlock
I couldn’t sleep. To bed at midnight and awake at 2:30 a.m..
mccain closes his trail with 1000 people attending his rally;
and in 2004 we were already hating president bush
mccain drew even less then him…I believe we need to get the fork ready
There are a lot of McCain signs on peoples lawns that are not exactly raking in the cash. Also some one issue voters (sometimes taxes, sometimes abortion, sometimes da gays).
It is going to take a while for NH to be solid blue. It will depend on how things go, but with the influx of Massholes (like me fleeing crazy house prices) that tips district 2. But District 1 also flipped and as noted Gobblers Knob or whatever voted for Obama this morning.
I’m alternating between being wildly excited and (to steal a phrase) cautiously nauseous.
I did some phone calling at the nearest Obama office yesterday & then went out with a local pol door to door with campaign material. Definitely a good way to deal with pent up anxiety.
Going door to door with the local pol was very entertaining. He has a lot of great stories on local & Minn politics & seems know almost everyone in his district. The door to door stint ended with a retired couple I had never met before demanding we sit down & have a glass of homemade wine. When we left, they insisted we each take a bottle of wine & caps & scarves handknit by the husband. I managed to leave with only the wine. Salt of the earth people.
Hello fellow Granite state. Good to be out early while the West still sleeps.
Wake up, its time!
some commute music for ya !
I’m in the race
But I’ve already won
And getting there can
Be half the fun
So don’t stop me
Till I’m good and done
My wife just got up and walked past me toward the coffee pot. She didn’t say “good morning.” She said, “The polls close at 7:30 in Virginia, huh?”
Massive turnaround since 2004 to 2006 and the gains will be kept in 2008 plus the Senate. I just hope we can boot Gregg from the Senate when he is up. That the change lasts enough years to get something done.
Madison County, Illinois- People waiting for parking spaces and in line for a ballot at my polling place, more than I’ve seen in twenty-eight years here. Lots of gray and white heads mixed in with people on their way to work.
Will go back to vote after I take my daughter to school.
I like her. lol
The dye is being cast today. Before the results are official the Republicons and their flunkies in the corporate controlled punditocracy will begin their efforts to de-legitimatize an Obama presidency. The fight doesn’t end here. It just starts a new phase. Republicons are junkies addicted to power and the withdrawal symptoms are not going to be pretty.
that warms my heart this election day morning.
JoScar was gloating earlier that the young people are not going to come through. He may be right. I like the polls that say ‘likely voter’. Then I mentally add just a tiny bit to it.
All though it took 100 years after the Civil War ended to give African Americans their equal rights, now it’s 40 years later we’re on the threshold of electing the first African American president.
That’s progress since social change is usually very slow. I hope this will open the door to true equality for all.
rut ro
karl rove who is always wrong calls it for obama
now if krystol does the same we are sunk
and we have president bush to thank for this milestone in civil rights
bizarre isn’t it
yep. he turned out to be a uniter after all :D
Morning. The DH and I voted on the way in to work at our little polling spot at the local methodist church. If they get 300 people at an election, it is a very big deal to them. I was number 48 at 7:00..usually, I’m like 12, so they are starting off to a big day already. When I finished and left the booth, there was a line of about 12 people behind me.
Digg
so I have a new oxdown, coal miners call mccain a liar
good times
one promise he might have fulfilled
me cannot wait, if I weren’t the only person in the office I would call in tired
I believe that if obama is elected the far right will blame bush.
especially if we give him the credit he so richly deserves
that will make the base revile bush for all eternity possibly more then we do
oh the irony
No waiting at Athens Ga #7
Imus video of a line down the block at 6 am for his voting place. Boo-yah!
Vice Dick Chee-knee, co-president, in the patriotic spirit of the day is potshooting pheasants at his annual undisclosed location north of Pierre, SD.
Bum.
oo oo
Speaking of diaries. I put up a voter resource guide if you have questions. There’s also a link to post your voting experiences at “My Fair Election” so they can get a sense of where the trouble spots are.
Soon as the tigers are fed I’m headin’ for the voting booth.
ah The Great Unraveling proper commences today
heard no less than Scar declare today “the end of the Reagan era”
well shuh . . .it is trash day after all, rollin’ the smokin’ heap to the curb, boss
Duck!
Morning, nomolos. I, just a few hours ago, made my first Oxdown diary about voting in New England. It’s about a particular illegal activity that needs to be addressed to protect the vote.
http://oxdown.firedoglake.com/diary/1396
May the sun shine down from sea to sea
As Obama voters make history!
Ask every kid you see today, did you vote yet? Reverse the big schlep….
karma i like to think perris.
i’m decked out in red white and blue and on my way to vote.
Oh, jeez, I walked in the room and Mary Matlin was on my teevee screen. Way, too early for such a fright.
Radio is reporting that at polling places that normally see 5-10 people this time of morning have lines up to 200. Look out, Rethug motherfuckers, we’re comin’!
Does he have any friends with him….watch out. M. Matlin squawing on CNN, Repubs going to win and party strong. Don’t we want to show her how wrong she is?
I would like progressives to come back with;
“it’s about time reagans policies of tax increases and redistribution of middle class assets is soundly rebuked as flawed and rediculous economics”
man, they should hire me for their blurbs
firedogs – do check out Elliot’s fabulous diary – a veritable groaning board of resources
I saw that. Excellent. Thank you. :)
that is one great diary post audrey, and a great youtube;
very very nice
a great post, must read before going rambo, we need all tools possible
When (fingers, toes etc. crossed) Obama is elected, we have to be ready to defend him against all slime. They (murdoch etc.) will begin the campaign to take the Clinton-type smear campaign to a higher level. This time, we are awake. This time we will not think ‘nobody will believe this sludge’. This time we will fight back.
My worry has now morphed into what ‘we’ will do when we disagree with Obama on issues. Because we hope to solve everything (wishful thinking) as soon as possible. America is in a very deep hole. America is going to feel alot of pain in the coming years, and the republicans are primed to blame everything on Obama — the pain and more. So we will need to defend him.
We should not take dem family sqabbles into public for the republicans to use them against Obama.
I am a worrier — that is my new worry. Sorry couldn’t sleep either. My daughter and I are going to vote later (after I hear from the car repair guy UGH) in the red MN 6th district. I will advise my daughter to vote against Bachmann. She will vote for Obama.
!!
Report back, Citizen Millineryman
Just heard a story on the radio where an Obama voter had a Republicon poll watcher arrested for insulting his wife. When the police cuffed him, claimed he was a law student, to take him away he was crying like a baby.
TV showing some long lines in Austin waiting for polls to open…Im going to poll watch late in the day, a big turn out expected then as well. Isn’t it grand?
It wasn’t Boehner, was it?
Rethug = mean
Mean people blow dead goats.
Thank you, perris. I just read your diary and recommended. :)
TV showing huge lines in Ohio…
rush made certain clinton had no honeymoon, he will do so more now then ever before, they do NOT want a sucessful term for obama.
I would like those in the obama camp who read the lake to put these priorities in the same order;
1) executive order; promises made and contracts entered by America are vital tools for national security, we cannot broker treaties if we do not abide by them
no president can break treaties without congress and the geneva convention will be honored, there will be no further damage done to our national security by having policies that include torture or violate the geneva treaty
2) executive order 2= all signing statements are void if they change the meaning of a law or otherwise undermine the meaning of that law
once a president signs a law it IS law until congress rescinds it or the supreme court declares it unconstitutional
3) the airwaves are not owned by the stations who broadcast they are owned by the people of this country, no station may air a political point of view that is not counter ballanced by oposing points of view
addendum;
facts are not political points of view that need to be weighed even if that fact is damaging to one party or the other
I have a few others but these three will do for now
as I imagined, the police want this party out of office as well
BT’s up
Early Morning Swim: Special Get Your Ass Out And Vote Edition
Great idea about trying to stem some of the executive orders Bush has signed. Especially those deregulation items he is trying to push past now and in the next month or so. The reporting on Bush’s last minute push is really frightening me. Well, even more so I guess. Our trouble has only begun to abate with the election of Obama.
Now the next battle to restore our constitution begins.
