Here’s Palin in Wasilla, predictin’ what she’ll do after all the Mavericky stirrin’ up she’s been doin’:
"You know if there is a role in national politics, it won’t be so much partisan," she said, 15 minutes after voting at the Wasilla City Hall where she once served as mayor…My efforts have always been here in the state of Alaska to get everybody to unite and work together," she added. "It certainly would a uniter type of role."
She added that she’s only interested in uniting the "real America" or "pro-America type areas" that love Jesus.
And then, the whining:
Palin said she was disappointed with much of the reporting about her.
"The state of journalism today, the world, for the blogosphere, the 2-3-hour news cycles, where just too much is reported based on gossip and innuendo and things taken out of context," she said.
She then suggested that her next role might be righting the wrongs she sees in journalism.
"I’d like to help in that effort also because I have great respect for the world for journalism."
Says the woman who hasn’t given a single press conference.
But hey, since she’s clearly looking for her next gig — I suspect Rupert Murdoch will be more than happy to oblige.

First Uniter then Decider!
Yes, she’d get better ratings than OReally or Hannity.
What part of “Obama pals around with terrorists” was taken out of context, oh uniter?
Sweet Lord.
This woman is making ME crazy trying to follow her thought process.
I’m really not so sure. You can’t just drop your g’s and read the same stump speech over and over on TV. You have to have actual ideas and thoughts and stuff.
I think SNL nailed it: she’s headed for QVC. Strictly the 3 am slot.
Hopefully she just goes away after today.
She’s gunna run in 2012 youbetcha!
Which is why she is perfect for President. At least by the standards we’ve had the past few years.
Yeah I can see her on her new Fox News show – “Word Salad” Where she just throws the day’s talking points into that blender she calls a mind and the inane jiberish that seems to drive the 25 percenters wild just spews right out.
Good Riddance!
I read she finally released a letter from her doctor in lieu of medical records.
*Someone had a great idea for a celebratory dish tonight: Baked Alaska!
:)
“Real America” with Sarah Palin.
Wouldn’t they feed her the thoughts, though? There is the danger of her goin’ rogue.
Get ready (unfortunately) for much more of her drivel over the next few years. As I’ve said before, it’s hard to keep em’ down on the farm when they’ve seen the bright lights of the big city, and that parody that SNL did of her saying she’ll be a white “Oprah” wasn’t off the mark at all.
Powerful, rich guys are already lining up their trinkets to dangle in her face once the election is over, in attempts to get in her pants.
…and Steve Doocy. They’d make a great pair. Vortex of stoopid.
Shorter Sarah Palin: “I can see Roger Ailes from my house.”
Hannity and Limbaugh and O’Reilly are truly evil demogauges, but what they do is actually not easy. I think she’d run out of things to say — UNLESS she did a “People” Magazine for Wingnuts type show and just interviewed totally shallow like Hasselbeck [sic?]
That she could do well.
Rearing his head?
Roger Ailes is probably drooling at the prospect of slotting her in a lineup alongside Sean Hannity and BillO.
(He was probably drooling anyway, but now there’s a new reason.)
“Cooking with Sarah”
You are kidding, right?
As long as she can stick to a teleprompter, she’ll be fine for their purposes.
Remember the RNC and her subsequent rave reviews?
her 15 minutes is almost up, right?
No, I disagree. Have you seen Huckabee’s show? He’s a hayseed crazy right wing populist, but he’s very good at it.
Can you imagine George W Bush doing a show? I can’t.
is –> are
Agreed. An effective demagogue has a true talent, evil though it is…kinda like being a talented interrogator, or a talented prison guard.
Have all the Muppet
slutsslots been taken? If we are fortunate, 14 of those 15 are done.
I can understand Palin’s displeasure with the blogosphere. We factcheck. That has to be a real bummer for someone like her.
Palin is such a scene-stealer I think the talking heads at Fox would grow to hate her. Even though they talk BS they surely must know “real” BS when they hear it.
It’s true. It’s a freakish skill set that not many people have — and it’s even harder on TV.
She’s Bush in a skirt. She’s perfectly fine on the stump but I’d be surprised if she can carry an hour-long show.
30 minutes, people interest? Sure. She can do that.
Oh come on. GWB would be a great host for “Hee Haw”.
from your keyboardses to doG’s e-mail!
Well, I didn’t think that Jesse Ventura or Arnold could be elected…
Or
Twice Baked Alaska
Well, in all fairness, Huckabee probably didn’t graduate fifth from the bottom of his graduating class!
Remember Magic Johnson’s TV show? He’s a smart and charismatic guy, but he just didn’t have the right kind of talent for a talk show.
I suspect Palin would have a similar problem. She’s just inarticulate. Sure her crazy worldview would be popular with a certain segment of the population, but you have to be able to string a few words together into a complete sentence. She seems to have a lot of trouble with that.
anything to get rid of the taste of the half-baked Alaska we’ve been force-fed lo these many months!
I fully expect Elizabeth Hasselbeck to spontaneously combust at sundown, so there may be an opening for Sarah on The View.
Yes, that was a joke. Palin has a real aversion for anything that could possibly be construed as a fact.
I think a Palin run for Steven’s Senate seat is a real possibility, assuming she can’t appoint herself…appoint a stooge, then run when the seat is open. She would instantly be an unusually powerful, popular Senator with a national constituency, and positioned perfectly for a run of her own for President.
When does Steven’s term expire?

Enjoy.
Good riddance to the the half-baked Alaska Gov.
Yoooooou Betcha!
Isn’t he running for re-election right now?
So, he’d have to win today and be ousted by the rest of the Senate, and then the apointee could have basically 6 years.
Eeeew. Go, Mark Begich!
FunnyD
That depends – what time do the polls close in Alaska?
Two words: Chevy Chase.
Right on target, BT! We do not want nor can not HAVE another president who has NO respect for life. (Unless it’s unborn, once born, it’s “disposable”.)
I have always thought that was the bottom line policy shaper in Bu$h’s cabal. I do believe it’s the same with Saracuda Mooselini.
I think it’s all in the type of show.
No, she’s not gonna be any good at witty repartee, but if all she has to do is lob softballs to fellow wingnuts she’d be okay. You clearly forgot her ability to wink.
After all, iirc she was has a journalism background.
And as for Dubya, I couldn’t imagine him as POTUS either, but it happened.
When the jury walked back into the courtroom?
Hopefully, part of Palin’s future will be facing perjury charges. From the Anchorage Daily News:
(Bold mine).
If the Republicans are smart (I know, I know) they will throw Palin under the bus one way or another after the election and make sure she never rears her bespectacled face on the political scene again. If they don’t she is going to come back to haunt them. She’s a loser for the Repubs.
she’s fired. I’m ready for her to go.
I’m not sure but I think Alaska changed their laws on replacing a Senator after Frank Murkowski (the man who Palin replaced as Governor) appointed his daughter to his old Senate seat.
Maybe so, but ol’ Rupert’s in it for the ratings, and I believe she’d get ‘em.
This election season has shown me there are tens of millions of batshit crazy people out there.
I pretty much in the bag now so wake me when Thug freakshow is over.zzzzzzzzzz.
As soon as he is sentenced, if by some fluke he is re-elected today.
If Stevens wins, even though a convict, then resigns….doesn’t Palin get to appoint his replacement? I’d be shocked if she didn’t at least try to appoint herself. It would fit in perfectly with her entire “Cheney salad” philosophy.
Go Begich.
Where’s ET when we need him.
I was just thinking out loud. You’re probably right–could be there’s an appointee for a short amount of time, then a special election for the rest of the term.
I hope she joins Fox News and does for them what she has done for the town of Wasilla and the McCain campaign…
I want to thank you Mr. Partridge, for I can now rest my case!
From what I understand, he would have to be replaced by special election. Palin can’t appoint. Alaska changed the law when Murkowski appointed his daughter, Lisa, to a seat.
lol!
oh, that’s RICHE! Albatross.
RICH!
It already did a couple of weeks ago, no matter what he says.
Hunting with Sarah.
I watched her come and go to voting this morning in Wasilla. Big motorcade, with armored vans, lotsa police protection, national, state, WPD.
I’d swear that Trooper Wooten (of Troopergate fame) was driving the backup trooper car….
he will be handily defeated.
Thanks. Great news. Maybe we will be rid of her soon. I don’t care if she’s a talking head on FOX…I can turn them off. But I DO NOT want her in the US government.
so that’s how she ended up in the Knoxville Ditch…
Why is McCain still talking this tired shit?
she studied journalism (or so her spotty college record says)… and she still doesn’t understand how it works. that figures. she doesn’t know how government works either, judging by her spotty record of compromised ethics in Alaska. I hope that they fire her doughy ass out of the governorship up there and then make her do time for her crimes. First D00d can raise the kids while she does her time.
What a doughy pantload she is.
I’m watching McC. I gotta tell you, his whole camp seems very upbeat. Liberman’s in the background. No one looks defeated. McC seems better than he has in weeks.
He doubled his prune intake this AM.
Go ahead, vote globally. iftheworldcouldvote.com
met a moose, ill
That’s not how I see it at all, his ass is whipped and he’s got that swamrmy motherfucker behind him.
Gotta respectfully disagree. I think he sounds tired, just doggedly repeating his talking points. He sounds like someone just about out of ammo to me.
Have you heard the news that’s going ’round here
The man in charge has got to go
Cause he dances ’round the problem, boy
And the problem is the man in charge you know
Now, the young knows what I’m talking ’bout
It’s a con in the old man’s game
The man in charge, he don’t know what he’s doing
He don’t know the world has changed
Power seems to be so far up
The man on the street ain’t got a clue
The high top cats running your life
Think the problem is me and you

Have you heard the news that’s going ’round here
The problem is the man in charge of you

J.J. Cale – “The Problem”
That would be the ONLY reason I would watch, “The View”
The tea leaves tell me that she will be the future female Jimmy Swaggert of the Holy Rollers. She’s been steeped in that stuff all her life. You know, “tongues”, laying on of hands, St Vitus Dance and stuff.
I haven’t heard him say anything of substance during the campaign. Real, true substance.
Stay calm, folks.
I’m out of here for now. I’m going to visit my friend who’s husband died Friday night. (He voted for Obama by mail.) I’m going to relieve the daughter who has been staying there so that she can run out and vote.
I’ll be back tonight.
If I dare. :)

Well, I like your interpretations better. This can’t be over soon enough for me.
When is 6:00 p.m. EST going to get here so we can start seeing some results?
And yes, I know the technical answer to that question. It was intended more as an exclamation than a question.
Thanks for the link, here be the results, not many neocons anywhere else.
http://www.iftheworldcouldvote.com/results
I doubt if we’ll get any calls even at 6PM Eastern as the two states that close polls at 6, also have central time zone voters going until 7PM Eastern
Side note: I was watching the 800th episode of WWE Raw last night and had all but forgotten that Sean Hannity was one of the first “commentators” the World Wrestlign Federation had hired when they went national.
That explains a LOT!
It would be very difficult to underestimate this lady’s intelligence. And if the Republican Party has so marginalized itself that Sarah really does speak for the majority of its members, they will need many years to recover from this.
They also need to remember that the American people are looking for new solutions to the country’s problems. If they don’t want to be part of the solution, they may end up being considered THE Problem.
“Beauty fades…..DUMB is forever. -Judge Judy
Yeah, but at least by then they’ll have analysis beginning and results will start coming in — even if they won’t call the state.
Living in Indiana, I’ll know how things are breaking as different districts report. If Obama pulls surprising numbers in heavily Republican areas I’ll know things are going our way.
My wager is they call KY for McCain at 7:01 Eastern which will be about the only lead McCain has in the Electoral vote all night.
But they won’t be able to call Indiana (or the Kentucky Senate race) that quickly.
Over at Campaign Silo it is reported that some voting machines have broken down in PA and voters are filling out paper ballots. Voters are being told those paper votes will only be provisional votes. The author (Beyerstein) is asking for info from anyone who knows about election law in PA that rules in this situation. Probably federal law would rule since it’s a fed election.
Anyone here that can advise over there?
Not strange that it’s PA, huh?? Crucial state.
