They are presently looking at increasing real estate taxes substantially(21 cents). While most areas are getting more for schooling in the Govs budget,Montgomery County is not. Meanwhile Blacksburg High School needs to be rebuilt after its gym roof caved in and now that stimulus money has expired they have to figure out how to pay for the teachers and teachers aides they have. The highest increase prior to this was 8 cents. Needless to say there is alot of debate going on. Almost everything is north of me. ;)
