We cannot allow the religious fundamentalists to win in California tonight as the country celebrates the end of these awful Bush years.

I voted NO earlier today, but this is one where a lot of my friends and family are very fearful. Driving to work, I’ve seen the Yes signs outnumber the Nos by 2-1. Scary…

Virginia within 0.5%, with a bunch of votes in Fairfax County still to be counted.
My local referendums are; 1. poorly phrased and 2. not broadcast

Sad, sad news /snark. Chris Shays just conceded to Jim Himes (snoopy dance).
Also, it looks like our own CT version of proposition 8 will be defeated. It was not easy explaining to people at the polls what the “constitutional convention” was about. The publicity was null and the wording was so innocuous. And the yes people were so vague.
Voted no on 8, but.. I’m sure this has been said before, but “Yes on 8″ has been plastered all over Southern California. Hardly ever saw “No on 8″ anywhere

(I think I got a ‘yes on 8′ robocall, a while ago. I hang up on robocalls, so I didn’t hear much of it. Tough, guys, I voted already. Leaving it till after 6pm on election day is really too late.)
Hopefully some McCain supporters will be too depressed to vote, and this will help defeat Prop 8.
BTW, Shays is the last R member of the house from New England. Too bad Collins pulled it out. Otherwise it would have been a clean D sweep in the region.

Truth tell I was worried about some of the local races here more than shays/himes and also question no.1 (Ct version of prop 8). I give credit to certain local candidates, plus a marriage equality group (forgot the name) for getting their arses out there to the polls and really explaining to voters what all that innocuously worded “constitutional convention” humbug was about.
