I thought the R’s were pinting to Zogby poll as evidence that the race was even. His daily tracking poll is at 51-44 obama.Pollster John Zogby: “Barack Obama is where he needs to be and John McCain is not.

i feel pretty relaxed. was all smiles wearing my Obama/Biden shirt this weekend. Saw some people with a McCain/Palin bumpersticker. Looked pretty glum Or maybe they were angry. I’ve never seen such anger directed at an opposing candidate. Surasses the anger we directed at Bush 4 years ago. By far, I think.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream–and not make dreams your master,
If you can think–and not make thoughts your aim;

If If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools

Both Obama and McSFB will be campaigning here today. McSFB in Tampa at 9am. Polls open in just under 24 hours. 24 hours after that the beginning of the fall of Shrub and the Rethug Party will have begun. But Krugman is right, the Rethugs will become even more intolerant and dangerous. We need to ensure that this election is the beginning of pounding the Rethugs into the ground, their ideology scattered to the 4 winds, never to be allowed to surface again.

Obama 55 McCain 44.

Our very feisty, DFL Rep Tom Rukavina (NE Minn) wrote a great letter to ed in local rightwing newspaper. After talking about Norm Coleman’s lack of interest in the Iron Range economic development projects vs Al Franken and enumerating what the Dem Party has done for working people in the country (Soc Security, Medicare for elderly, GI Bill, college loans, Head Start, etc), Rukavina said this:
“Now, I’ll challenge all of the Republicans up here to tell me one thing, just give me one example of what the Republicans have ever done for the working class people of this country. I’ll give you until the 2012 elections to come up with something, you’ll need that long.”

Dick Cheney couldn’t even finish sharing his ‘delighted’ endorsement of McCain without looking down at his notes. You’d think that if he had any soul or heart at all he’d be able to endorse his choice for next president of the United States without needing to check his notes to see what it was he was going to say.

The other problem is that it takes a huge donation to work your way up on the football tix list to “safe” seats. We give instead to the performing arts program, just enough to get reserved parking that paid off big time for yesterday’s Capitol Steps performance while Biden was speaking on the other side of campus.

Fianl early voting numbers for orange county FL. Hillarty sez it’s the “battleground of the battleground and you all know if Hillary sez it it must be so (except that sniper fire thing). comparison to 2004

2004
Dem 37,604
Rep. 25,595
Other 16,003
TTL 79,202

2008
Dem 82,829
Rep. 33,008
Other 29,439
TTL 145,276

2004
Black 15,427
Hispan. 10,045

2008
Black 42,026
Hisp. 24,489

So African-American EV turnout almost tripled. This doesn’t assure anything, but it’s a good start, I think.
