I really ran into very few nasties. The high point was meeting a 91 year old man who assured me that he was voting for Obama and he knew where to go vote and intended to do so!

Won’t happen. Those assholes will all be cut loose, in order to, “Turn the page.” Besides, everybody who’s had a seat at the table, including many prominent Democrats, have been culpable in this disaster. And none of them want to have to pay the price for what they’ve done. So the nation will be told to move on, it’s a new administration, a clean slate, blah blah blah blah blah. And Raytheon, Halliburton et al will keep getting paid.

They’re showing the anti-Obama/ Reverand Wright ad here in Los Angeles. It’s very short and they had to bleep out the “God damn America” part so the whole thing falls flat. It is from some 527 but I did’nt catch what the name was, it was on and off so quick.

Please take action to urge the media to report the unadjusted exit polls for the 2008 election.

Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International will again conduct all exit polling in 2008 for the National Election Pool, comprised of ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, NBC and the Associated Press. Exit polls will involve polling more than 100,000 actual voters, remove sources of polling error and can be extremely accurate. In 2004 John Kerry was showing a 7 point lead in the unadjusted exit polls, but then on election night the computers were down for several hours and when they came back on-line a flip had occurred and Bush now narrowly led. This was not because of a change in the actual polling but because the exit polls had been “adjusted,” i.e. “corrected” so as to conform to the vote count assuming that count was correct. Investigations into the election in Ohio later raised serious doubts about the accuracy of the actual vote.

Voters should be provided with the unadjusted exit polls and if adjustments are made to the final polls they should be explained publicly. Major media outlets are urged to archive all of the interim exit poll results to allow independent analysis later. Election integrity advocates must push for greater transparency since large-sample exit polls can and should be used be used to audit vote totals.

When the U.S. government audits the vote in a foreign country, the tool of choice is always a large-sample exit poll, which will identify problems in the vote totals. Yet, in the United States, even with the documented problems we have had in voting , our own government does not use the best tool available.

News and political divisions of the major networks must plan to archive all of the preliminary exit poll results since the overall survey will quickly be adjusted by the vendor to match the published vote totals, and will thus no longer be useful as an audit of the integrity of the vote totals.

Please send a letter to the networks by clicking here. The letter demands that the unadjusted exit polls be made public, that the preliminary exit polls be archived and that any adjustments be explained so that the National Exit Poll can be used as a tool to audit the election results.

The Stepanopolis group this morming cheerily gave Obama the win as posted here. I am taking my mail in ballot to the courthouse before my puyblic comment on affordable housing and affordable sewer.
I wonder how Obama has pulled it off. Lincoln had a similar challege and took advantage of a vacuum. Maybe all those D candidates got out the voters and he culled them. It is a political phenomenon that will go down in history.
I have fallen in love. Yes the Economist has captured my heart. They have ao many interesting articles. Interesting read. My nmieghbor is reading a book on the media she says is good. Will Americans watch good sense? Or read it? They are hooked on sensationalism it sells.

He allowed himself to be just blasted on SNL last night. For a guy who has to be watching his political career swirling the bowl, he had a humorous pitch. That Palin bit about QVC was so demonstrative of his campaign’s futility, and he was placid. I can’t distinguish it from confidence.

But I suppose that when you see the end approaching, and it really is inevitable, it’s time to relax.

I love his flacks – they are finding crevices in which to wedge their hopes, and it’s so absurd. But I’ disturbed at the Reverend Wright ads we on the West Coast are being blanketed with.

I remember this exact period in the cycle in 2004. I was convinced that Bush had done everything he could to turn off the electorate in the first 4 years, and at the same time, was convinced that Kerry had run an abominable campaign and simply refused to win.

Another day at the lake has come to an end. A rowdy week ahead. The rains have cooled us here in the Central Coast in a misty sort of way. A Beautiful day will be dawning somewhere in the world.
