This is the best they can do? For my money, this is on the scale of Boehner’s ‘chickenshit’ comment.

My reading of the Sunday Times story is slightly different. Fox approached Millican, and was willing to pay $10,000 for the full analysis. A preliminary comparison found the suggestion of one author very implausible. Fox & Millican had apparently agreed on the full analysis, but Fox withdrew when Millican insisted that the results be published regardless of the findings. So payment wasn’t the show stopper, disclosure of a negative result was.

No, it’s an individual – Robert Fox, brother-in-law of Utah Republican congressman Chris Cannon. The implication is that Fox went into this at Cannon’s instigation although Cannon is saying it was Fox’s idea.
