Too early to tell, but the first place I picked up one of the juiciest of stupid statements made by the Alaska GOP today, was in fdl comments this afternoon. The chief spokesperson for the AK Rethugs, Hugh McPierre, said this today:

“We need to continue to support Sen. Stevens. We need to vote for him because a vote for him is a vote for a conservative candidate, a Republican who best represents the interests and beliefs of Alaskans. … We don’t know what happens in the future. But if you don’t want Mark Begich, you vote for Ted Stevens.” – McHugh Pierre, spokesman for the Alaska Republican Party.

Blackmail the word, doesn’t seem to do it justice.

The Senate’s chief GOP campaign strategist cut Sen. Ted Stevens loose Monday after the Alaska Republican was convicted in his corruption trial.

In a strongly worded statement, Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.), head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said Stevens’s conviction marked the end of his career and signaled that the GOP would not try to mount an effort to hold onto the seat he has occupied for 40 years.

The ballots are printed. If he pulls out, the only way to deal with it would be a write-in, but it would compete with Ted’s name – a lot of people will vote for him, no matter what, if his name is there. Begich will win – 100% sure of that.

There are issues.

When I turned it on after connecting all the cables, it said Windows was improperly installed, so we had to reinstall it.

Then, it turns out that the new hardware is not compatible with our existing wireless router, so I guess we need to buy a new one of those before I can get on the Toobz with it.

Otherwise, it’s fine–it does instantly what my old one (this one) takes 15 or 20 minutes to do (like opening programs). It looks very slim and cool sitting next to my fat old dinosaur.

But, it just sits there…? 8-(

The old one and the new one are sharing a monitor, because I haven’t bought a new one. So after getting the new one running and programs installed, I switched the monitor back to the old one so I could get online tonite…

Shit! You should check to see if there are any updated drivers for the router. You should be able to go to the manufacturers website and get new drivers. What is the make and model neuro? I can do a quick search..

I don’t think it’s the drivers, I think it’s a hardware problem…there is some card I am supposed to install in the computer to make it work with the wireless router, and the cards that came with the router (bought maybe 1 or 2 years ago, or maybe longer) apparently do not fit the slot in the new computer…so says my in-house expert, as I understand it…

CT spent mant years growing up in Virgina and Georgia. Segregation shielded the effects of rascism from the view of ruling class. The few glimpses or contacts were brain bleached. This video touches on the horrors endured by all people of color. US Military has provided an escape.

BB, I was born in Canada and raised in Hawaii, the only segregation, or rather prejudice I’ve seen was what I’ve experienced as the only white (with my sister) in High School…! Good night, been a long day for a lot of you. I kicked most of the day except for some key calls. Having a contractors meeting on the 21st to do what our county did not do …give correct current industry cost a vetting. Instead they vetted their bias. Have a lot of contractors coming in for a townhall meeting after the election. Have to collect $4,000.00 halfway there, to pay for the mailer, the venue rent, adds and video crew fro rebroadcast. This has been a 10 year political campaign to get an affordable sewer for a town of 15K on septic systems. Lots of hard work, hard feelings and myth.

Lotsa luck, BB! Sewage systems aren’t very popular…! ;-)
