Total meltdown for McSame on "Meet the Press" this morning. Watch how defensive he gets when Brokaw’s cites poll after poll that indicates people don’t think Palin is qualified to be Vice President. "Because?! Not qualified…because?!" he snaps.
Then, after some creepy, nervous giggles about the Veep debate, McSame starts ticking off the reasons Palin is qualified to be President and gets completely lost in the bullshit.
MCSAME: She has more executive experience than Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama, together. She took on the governor of her own party because she had seen what she’s thought was corruption. She’s been a mayor. She has 24,000 people underneath her. Her husband is a, uh, works the third shift on the oil who…in…facilities in the North Slope. He’s a, ah… the-they have a won…she has executive experience…
Fail.
The pressure of all those polls confirming what everyone knows — including Republicans like Colin Powell, David Frum, Peggy Noonan, Kathleen Parker, and George Will – has clearly gotten to McSame. You just get the sense he knows he’s screwed.
He chose…poorly.

Stick a fork into McCain…he’s done.

It so funny to see the pathetic little weasel of a man that John McCain being brought to light.
Digg it Pups!!
This is for McCain’s Campaign and his political career!
He also dissed a former Sec’y of State whose name he couldn’t remember — fumbled it badly.
‘Course, I can’t recall which one it is either. ‘Course, I’m not running for POTUS — that’s my excuse. What’s his?
Dugg.
Thanks for the link.
Thanks BT. McSane can’t string coherent sentences together. Is he the worst Presidential candidate from a major party, ever?
I can see russia from her pants.
Wow, this is funny! Very surreal. Especially when Brokaw actually states facts and says essentially “Most of Americans really doesn’t think she is qualified.” He is calling McCain’s bullshit with a straight face. Brokaw has the capacity to do honest journalism. That is so refreshing to see. Thanks for the post.
Everyone chooses poorly at some time in their life, even fighter pilots.
It is how one handles the recovery that gets one a label of hero or eff-up. To recover, one must first acknowledge the screw-up. I don’t see McVain even starting.
wow THAT was painful….
But I am sure reassuring to some of the population…(eyes rolling)
beautiful day today after rainy yesterday-even with a lot of the leaves down…when the sun shines on it-its always beautiful…a bit of a brezze out there and a dying wasp in here.
A lovely day to all~lets make this happen!
McSame has been spending too much time with Sarah, can’t keep a thought together for one sentence.
So I guess Sarah has more executive experience then McCain by McCain’s argument.
Bullseye.
And yet, apparently, in that same interview, he “guaranteed” that he will win. We gotta hope the polling margin doesn’t drop to five points or less or these thieves will “win”. How is this thing even close?
I suspect he’ll be sent to bed without his cookie tonight.
Bad Brokaw!
In election theft we trust.
Because one of them has darker skin. We are going to show on 11/4 that it doesn’t matter what color your skin is.
That’s been the elephant in the room ever since this “executive experience” line started- thanks for pointing it out.
Someone needs to point out the QUALITY of Palin’s executive experience- like starting to build sports facility when she didn’t own the land yet- costing the tax payers millions- and rigging the bidding on an oil pipeline- and breaking the ethics laws of the state of Alaska…
Quite a record for a very short career!
“Senator McLosingIt”
I thought a more telling moment was when asked about the Colin Powell endorsement for Obama, he answered he was “disappointed in Colin Powell” but he was grateful for the 5 ex-secretaries of state. He then started to rattle off their names and could only name 4. It was a real senior moment and he got quite flustered.
Brokaw then went on to the next question and in the middle of him asking it, McCain blurted out “George Shultz!” and he tried to slough it off by apologizing.
It was a very awkward TV moment. He is tight and defensive, and it was obvious.
Of course McBush DID run a fairly large naval airbase- but since he’s unwilling to release his military records, we don’t know much about how well he did running the thing.
“He chose…poorly.”
Great line, delivered by the ancient guardian knight in the second Indiana Jones movie about the holy grail.
The greedy bad guy has to choose the actual cup used at the Last Supper (which is suppose to confer eternal life). Instead of selecting the humble wood one, the kind that would be carved by a hard working (social activist!) carpenter, he chooses (identifies with) the most ornate one, as befitting a great king, poisoning himself in the process.
How fitting.
That’s his MO anytime he’s pissed about a tough question.
And since we’re onto ‘creepy’, his oft used air quotes creep me out as well.
Fact is, he’s the wrong guy at the wrong time being served up by the Rethugs because it was ‘his turn’.
After Nov. 4th they’ll be able to put him out to pasture and move on, and I can only hope they decide to ‘move on’ to Palin.
That will insure our majority for the next decade.
The stupid rolls off his tongue like water over Niagara Falls.
I’m sure you all remember his statement that “She knows more about energy than anyone in the country”.
How that piece of idiocy never got sliced up is beyond me, every given the well known failings of the MSM.
The entertainment industry is already discussing how best to use her and the opinion right now seems to be that she would do well with her own talk show.
aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhh
Dugg this post!
Thanks BT
According to McCain’s own analysis and because he’s a US Senator and has done nothing else in his life, Sarah is more qualified than he is.
No wonder Palin is just laughing at him and getting all rogue and shit!
he was inept even way before he chose her.
See what happens after a resounding defeat and the McCain camp throwing her under the bus and blaming her. I don’t think she’ll attract many advertisers.
heard that Cameron guy on FOX yesterday (KO says he’s the only decent person there) saying yesterday in Albuquerque the McCain rally was set up for 2-3,000. They got less than that. Obama they were planning 25k. McCain’s fucked. the Bimbo in the studio emphasized that it’s not over until 11/4.
wow.
more expereince than biden and obama together? really?
wow.
This is an important point.
He wouldn’t have needed the “Hail-Mary” of selecting Imelda if he wasn’t staring at certain ruin in the mid-week of the Dem Convention, and the ruinous polls.
He must have felt about 2 feet tall.
I said downstairs she’s not going anywhere.
She’s gonna clean up on wingnut welfare (talk shows, lecture circuit, etc.) but that’s fine with me because as the polls show every time she opens her mouth to feed red meat to the base her numbers among independents and women tank further.
So let her go out and make millions being the female Limbaugh or Beck; it will only insure she’ll never have the base to win nationally.
experience ….spelling ability…failing…can’t..spell…simple words
He chose poorly
He didn’t chose poorly. In his mind he made a good choice. He simply has bad judgement.
Tee hee. Only 5000 turned out for her rally today in Tampa.
FAIL.
Don’t schedule a Palin rally that requires the fundies to miss the Sunday morning service.
… but she’s starburstin’ purdy and that, my friends, is why I selected her ~ McLittlehead
only 5000? I thought she was firing up the base and the average joe plumber six pack love her?
wow. that sucks.
considering his worth is way into the negative range and his huge ego, that’s a fair enough guess.
Thanks for this post!
after the Barbara West Biden interview in Orlando, I’m kind of surprised even that many showed up.
This ISN’T close- it’s shaping out to be the biggest blowout since Clinton short sheeted Dole.
Obama is 8 points ahead nationally and leading in states with well over 300 EVs.
Now one can raise questions about the accuracy of the polls in this unusual election, but if the polls are right, this is NOT close.
I’m sure you will guarantee that ya’ll will beat my dawgs Saturday too!
Similarly, a huge tax break for the upper class and a spending freexe on domestic issues are exactly what the nation needs as we enter what everyone seems to be saying will be the worst financial downturn in eighty years. The alternate reality of the right in this country continues to see only its own reflection in the stream. The falling in and drowning from it’s strangely erotic admiration thereof has the whole rest of the nation rubbernecking and stupified.
Johnny chose Sarah using his boing-o-meter in his pants. This the same kind of boing-o-meter being used by her supporters today and the ones Todd is getting a little jealous of and irritated by:
http://www.suntimes.com/entert…..24.article
God, I’m just now watching it. “Sure we disagree from time-to-time , we’re both mavericks” with that stupid shit eating grin.
In 1996 when Clinton beat Dole by eight points in the popular vote- he won the electoral vote by 220. That’s the kind of election result to expect if Obama holds onto an 8 point lead in the national polls..
Barack is comming back to orlando this week. They got 60,000 last week with hillary. He’s gonna be with bill this week. they want a bigger venue.
http://www.orlandosentinel.com…..1344.story
That Hasselbeck is gonna be with Palin in kissimmee later today. Might have happened. Small arena. teeney.
”EDITED BY MODERATOR”
The Bimbo in the [Fox] studio emphasized that it’s not over until 11/4.
“It’s not over until the Supreme Court says it’s over!”, says John McCain as he weirdly channels George W. Bush from 2000.
Why do they bother with an hour to repeat the same shit. (this goes for both campaigns”.
The First Dude ought to watch his wife while she’s batting her eyelashes and acting like a cute little girl. It’s her own fault – she acts like a sex kitten instead of a candidate.
What horseshit, Mr Greatest Generation showcasing the anniversary of John getting shot down. What bullshit.
may not be the first time he’s watched, long cold winters up there
She’s crooked as the day is long, and McCain knows it. She bankrupted a small town that had no debt when she was elected; now Wasilla has twenty million in debt to service on a recreational facility down the road from her house, built by Todd’s friends ‘the contractors’ who also built the Palin lakeside home. Additionally, she rigged the gas pipeline bidding so only one company — the one employing her pals — would end up with the contract.
When McCain said they were soulmates, this is what he meant: Crooked, devious, unethical, with a media-dazzling exterior.
I think it will be a good game. Both teams have looked great and looked awful this season. Don’t know which version will show up for either team…
Of course, when Elisabeth Hasselbeck was introducing Sarah today, Sarah made sure Todd was far away. See how she is? I can’t stand her. LOL
Notice how McCain continually fidgets with that pen once he starts listing off Palin’s “qualifications.” As someone who does a lot of public speaking, I can tell you that that’s a tactic many people use for pulling focus away from what’s being said, the same way an illusionist creates a diversion to cause the audience to look somewhere else during the course of a magic trick.
Just in case someone asks, bookmark the following page, because this is how Barack Obama responded after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast/New Orleans:

George Bush & John McCain were eating b-day cake when Americans were drowning in their attics. It took George Bush at least 3 days to show up to the region and ole Johnny didn’t make it there until the following March!
That’s why they play em huh?
Yea and it’s really effective, and how!
Party on.

Hillary says this is the “battleground of the battleground”. Was almost a tie in 2004.
Why would a Senator from Arizona go there at all, he’d just get in the way.
ROTFLMFAO!
good gravy now there is a woman (hasselback) who really makes my ass itch. talk about not being able to thnk for yourself. A disgrace to women everywhere
Yeah. there was no context for that. just threw it in. totally unnecessary and irrelevant. Brokaw is an asshole
whatv up WB, how’s the surf?
*spit* guess NOLA was the un-american part of the country
Exactly Raven. I was up here in Maine bawling my eyes out while my father (an ex-Army tank Sargent from the 60’s) was yelling, “Get some friggin boats out to those people!!!!” in a disgusted manner, so I can see why a Senator of Arizona didn’t even care.
(not sure the meaning of what I just wrote but it was written with tons of anger and sarcasm) ;-)
hey Raven.
warm as hell here today (nasty santa ana winds) but I can’t complain as my local college team won their conference game (whew)
How about yourself? What’s shakin?
My only point was that the last thing they needed was a bunch of grip and grin bullshit down there.
Gallup numbers suggest that as of friday, 17% of likely voters have already voted- another 17% say that they will vote before election day.
anybody wants to e-mail Barbara west in Orlando it’s
barbara.west@wftv.com
(she was Miss Vermont in Miss America contest)
Nuttin much. workin in the cars, helping in the garden, cooking, got the swim in, playing with the pups, watching football. . .
Check the surfcam at Manhattan and El Porto, decent little break for mid-day.
oh you mean like the photo-op bush did with the only lighting at night in nawlins? as soon as the photo-op was done, they took the lights with them. they did leave a few things though – people dying on their roofs and blackwater.
I agree but I’m also cautious… who knows how the closet racist vote polls. we need to focus on massive turnout on the 4th and not get overconfident. turbout is everything… the difference between 364 (or even 375 if we split Nebraska somehow) and 268 (we lose the battlegrounds and they split Maine)
Who wants to bet Sarah Palin, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and the people who work at Neiman Marcus laughed their asses off when they heard about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina?
Just a guess.
sorry 365 not 375
did you read Frank Rich on racism this morning? Quite good.
cool. surf looks pretty flat here when I went out for my walk with the pup this morning but still saw a few surfers out there
Palin will get her own show on FOX. Joe Scarborough whose political career died with the secretary in his office, was made a RW pundit. Palin whose career died at the thick, gnarled toenails of John McCain will be made a RW pundit. Sophomoric stint as sportscaster aside, she’ll do much better now with words scripted for her on a teleprompter. No guarantees how long she will last. Scarborough, like Tucker may be soon be reaching the end of his media stardom.
John McCain will not win Maine. The End.
http://www.realclearpolitics.c…..a-608.html
Maine picked Kerry in 2004 and Gore in 2000. We’ll pick Barack Obama in 2008, so if Barack ends up losing we can safely assume the election was stolen once again. ;-)
Good afternoon BT and pups.
My friends, have I told you about Steve the carpenter? Because, you see my friends, I really don’t remember if i’ve told you about Steve the carpenter…
…which will be so funny, because viewers will keep thinking she’s Tina Fey of SNL and won’t take her seriously. LOL
I just don’t want to see McC smile or laugh ever again.
That giggle just gives me the creeps. I want to never see him again, please.
Ian upstairs on China and our future
Cindy’s little man may spend the rest of his days bitter at everyone he selected for his campaign.
I agree completely. the.most.creepy.smile.and.laugh.evah.
Do you go down to Torrance Beach?
Honest to Christ, it is a nightmarish face. The Rude Pundit said, when it comes down to it, voters will ask themselves, “Do I want to look at Denzel Washington or the Crypt Keeper for the next four years?”
not too often (sad huh?)
McCain is like George W. Bush in that he refuses to admit that he has made any mistakes, and after seeing those decisions have caused failure, continues to defend them, and is loathe to correct them. Poor judgement is not something we need in our next president.
Apparently the in-fighting among the Rs has already started and it sound brutal. I think they will tear themselves apart. The more moderate ones (are there any?) should try to take their party back from the gibbering idiots.
Before they can start rebuilding they all need to have a huge meeting where they stand up and admit they were addicted to W and pledge to something like a ten step program like at an AA meeting. If they can’t admit the last eight years were a complete and utter failure, and that their great leader was the worst president in history, they will not be able to get well and make a clean break and give the GOP a new life. They can’t pretend like they are doing now denying Bush ever existed and ignoring this bad baggage that hangs about their necks and waists.
Incoherent sentence structure . . . appears to be a communicable phenomenon. Wonder how it’s transmitted?
You beat me to it — without speech writers, these two can’t form a grammatical sentence.
Secondly, if Palin has — as Sen. McCain says — more experience than Senators Biden and Obama combined, then she also has more experience than he does and — I guess — should be leading the ticket.
After he want to great lengths about how he was proud he was that five, count
em, five former secretaries endorsed him, he had stumbled badly over naming four out of five then after Brokaw went on, he awkwardly blurts out George Schultz! It was, overall, a rather frightening (softball though it was) interview. I am now more worried about McCain than I am about Palin.
Joy Behar said last night unapologetically that she is afraid he is suffering from untreated PTSD. He is definitely suffering from some mental disorder. The mood swings are especially troubling. From the relatively charming joke teller at the Waldorf Astoria to the angry but spirited last debate McCain to the rumbling, bumbling, stumbling MTP McCain today.
Was I hearing things or did McCain called Biden, “Joe the Biden?”
I believe all good Dems and progressives should get behind Palin’s intention to get real Mavericky the next nine days. I can envision a Palin-Huckabee 2012 ticket as the Great White Hope ticket and a real winner, at least among the base.
Don’t know if you’re still around but thanks for the Doors!
Reminds me of “Appocalyse Now”.
I do not speak Gibberish.
Could someone translate?
“…because she was a mayor…”
umm..yeah,lessee all the responsibilities being a Mayor in Wasssila entails
http://www.thedailyshow.com/vi…..america-in
He again fails to mention that by his own standard, she has more exec experience than him.
McCain’s latest demonstration that the one thing he knows how to do is crash. This time it is his Presidential campaign.
Morning BT and puppies.
Terrific post, BT.
Did anyone else hear what I thought I heard in that same Brokaw/McCain interview, during discussion of the mortgage lending debacle?
The gaffe was not McCain’s. It was said by Tom Brokaw, and I’m still fuming. I hope there’s Youtube, because I don’t remember his exact wording, but it struck me as total, coctail-circuit elitism.
In asking McC. about the stock market collapse, and the role of the mortgage crisis, Brokaw, said something akin to,
“Do you think it’s fair for taxpayers to have to foot the bill for people who were wrong or stupid and therefore lost their home?” (paraphrased)
Brokaw repeated the same idea over again during discussion. No mention of the wild speculation and risk-taking on Wall Street, nor the financial institutions that indulged in predatory lending, nor the many many other causes of personal financial hardship, such as lack of ability to get health insurance, pay off huge student loans, losing a job because of layoffs, companies moving their assets and operations overseas etc. etc.
Brokaw simply dumped the whole mortgage crisis and stock market plunge on people who lost their homes because they “did something stupid or wrong.”
HOW. DARE. HE?! NBC should retire Brokaw immediately.
Whether he’s senile, an ignoramus, or just plain lying. He is unfit to serve.
Hey. Next time Mclame appears with apallin’, watch as he spends every spare moment twisting and twirling his wedding ring. Mebbe he needs it re-sized or sumpthin’.
